When you said that you pray for the people within your congregation using the directory, I am brought to tears. I haven’t had a pastor in over a decade. My family and I left a “Christian cult.” That you would care for the sheep like that…I pray to find that. Thank you for your videos.

Thanks pastor. I’ve never met a Christian who doesn’t struggle with prayer. I think we’ll all continue the struggle but guidance is always helpful. If I can implement just one of your suggestions, I’ll feel I’ve gained. Please pray I will. 😁

Is it crazy that I sometimes cry a little bit while watching your videos??? I literally feel your aura, like an overwhelming feeling of happiness, I've never felt this before. Is there a place to find a consolidated list of those 18 prayers of Paul? I googled and found a much longer list of prayers (seems to have a less discriminating definition of a prayer) and I’m curious what you use.

Very organized prayer! And very lutheran as well. :) I do a lot of scripture prayer by praying the office of the hours. My difficulty is more in fitting in my personal prayer time and to become really still and attentiv to God, to let myself be touched without plan or schedule ... (Came over here from Gospel simplicity.)

The app, PrayerMate, is awesome! It basically does the same thing except it’s all digital. It rotates through different lists of prayers/people, etc so that after a couple weeks or so, you’ve prayed through it all, and you can have certain things set to pray for daily. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to pray strategically! ....and I need to get back into the habit of that myself! 🤪 God bless everyone! 🙏🏻

So very intrigued by that opening comment that prayer is most important and difficult work we’re called to, as well as the citation of a desert father about a “struggle to the end.” Could you recommend any books/videos/names I could use to pursue your comment further?

This might be a weird place to put this and I don't even know if you'll see it, but I was just looking at Lutheran study Bibles and I noticed that there don't seem to be very many different ones. And the ones that there are just kind of info dump in one place while hardly even making a notation in others. The more general study Bibles, which I think lean heavily Baptist, have a lot more variety and you can find some really engaging study Bibles among them. I think we need to start putting out some better study Bibles. Or, maybe there are tons of different kinds of Lutheran study Bibles and I just haven't found the really engaging ones. That could be! I just thought I'd mention it. Sorry it's off topic for the video!

Wow. I'm a recovering charasmatic. Therefore, my understanding of prayer is vastly different as I walk this LCMS journey. Pr Harrison's translation of Luther's letter to a barber about prayer is foundational. I try to use the Lutheran Book if prayer. Your system looks too complicated for me.
