In todays video i convert my newly picked up landscaping trailer into a dump trailer. The trailer doesn't self dump of course but has a lot more potential now with this big walls!

That's almost exactly how I built mine. Did it about 6 months ago and it's still holding up pretty well. I got a Carry On brand trailer with those same stupid wire tubes that were right in the way. I notched the plywood out around them which was annoying as hell. Nice build man!

I'm thinking with this build will allow me to do a 2 step application. I can install a radiant barrier on exterior bringing it flush with 2x4's then seal the wall up, then on the interior, I can install insulation for the fire prevention on one side and the rest with other insulation to cap off with stainless steel walls. This is a sweet deal. I truly appreciate you sharing this video. Very focused on an important topic we all care to see. Ty friend!

If you use pressure treated lumber then you don't have to paint it. If you used non treated, be sure to keep it painted or it will rot very quickly. The non treated lumber will rot in 4 or 5 years even if you keep it painted.

Keep an eye on your screws. I did this with my trailer, and did not beef it up as much with lumber. It was handy for hauling brush, furniture, etc. But eventually because the walls bounce and wobble, the screws will inevitably either pull through the plywood or break. When the walls rot or break, you might want to consider buying a cheap welder and steel materials to build walls. See if you can find an actual steel supplier, as they'll have what you need and be significantly cheaper than a box store. You'll spend a little more money on materials, but it will last pretty much forever and require next to no maintenance. Also, when I did mine, I put the support lumber on the outside of the plywood. The first one I did, I put the lumber inside the walls. The problem was that whatever I was hauling would get caught on the lumber. Having smooth sides in the inside really makes a difference when hauling something like brush that will try to get hung up on anything it can. Overall, cool modifications. It really makes a difference and saves time and effort because you don't have to tie everything down and worry about it falling/rolling under the rails.

@@steezyflips I built mine with some OSB board I had in my garage and pressure treated 2x6 lumber. I initially would only put the sides on when I needed them and take them off when I was done. Then I decided to just leave the sides on in the elements. They lasted a couple months, but I used my trailer 3-4 times a week.

Any time I put wood sides in a steel trailer I just go ahead and get some tube steel and weld up the framework. It will outlast the wood framing by far especially if you don’t use treated framing wood which yours looked like interior wood in the video….I could be wrong about that. Those techs screws are okay but again on the siding I always pre drill and use carriage bolts, nuts, washers, and lock washers, zinc coated. Yes it’s more expensive, time consuming but I build my stuff to last malfunction free. Good luck finding a modern LED trailer light system not made in China with extremely crappy wires that last for a couple months before corroding, degrading and breaking. I just buy quality automotive wire spools and run all my own wiring.
