Anytime I am gonna go on my run, because of the fact I’m more scared of people than running, I always tell myself ‘this is my journey. This is for me, no one else,’
@xlunelitex8 ай бұрын
Yes ! Yk those people are probably just thinking in themselves: " I should go running too, I should be being healthy too" That's what's helping me! I am doing it for me and anybody seeing it doesn't care at all or would be proud of a stranger for going out :)
@Killjoy_Mel7 ай бұрын
I can answer this on both sides. I started running too, I'm sure I look stupid as hell slowly shuffling along. And I definitely notice people who very much look like they're only starting out or out of breath or out of shape or whatever. But when I run, I don't care. And I don't care because I realised that when I look at other beginners or otherwise runners who don't 'look' (ew, what a nasty standard) like a slim skinny marathon runner, all I think is: good on you. Keep on keeping on at whatever pace you like, happy for you, I bet it feels great post-run, I should go for a run too, the body is willing but the spirit is protesting, but now I want to run, too.

I’m so proud of you girl. I am 65 years old and started running the 0 - 5k. I can now run 10k non stop. Yes, I’m probably the slowest runner ever 🤣🤣 but as somebody said to ge recently, 5k ran fast and 5k ran slow is still 5k! You look terrific 🌹

My best tip in a race if you don’t want to head out too fast and burn out is to start towards the back of the race. I do Parkruns all the time and I love it but they tend to be super fast and I find that when I start near the front of the race, my pace is way quicker as I find that I’m subconsciously trying to compete with the other faster runners. It’s so difficult. When I start at the front, I be pushing myself way too hard & going way too fast. My average comfy 5K pace is around 28-30mins or 9-10m miles. When I start at the back, cause they’re usually slower, I can overtake at my own pace, there’s no pressure to go hard. That’s my tip 💕.

This is exactly how people should view running, you've done brilliantly! I used to be an avid runner, 5ks, 10ks and I never felt fitter. Fast forward 2 babies later and I am so scared to try and get back to that level of intensive fitness because I know the long road I have ahead (no pun intended). You've inspired me to just suck it up and start, I'm not going to run 5km straight away, but I am going to celebrate all the wins just like you. Thank you.

I started running with c25k last year. It changed my life. I then started doing parkruns, started cycling, I was hiking more and then in November I ran a half marathon. When I started I got breathless after a minute of running, now I can run forever. I have also lost 3 stone in 2024. I’m very proud of how far I have come. Everyday I would watch motivational videos on KZbin the whole year. I came back to say your video was one of the best videos that motivated me when I started. Thank you!

A friend was my motivation and she patiently waited at the finish line to cheer me on ❤️ We are now gathering more friends to sign up with us. We had one in May, have one in Sept, 2 in Nov, 1 in Dec, and a repeat of my first in Feb of next year….. I’ll run an entire one by February but my 80 extra lbs are keeping me slow for now LOL YOU KEEP IT UP! ❤

@schokococoa575 I ran it in about 33 minutes. I enjoyed the run and would do it again. One thing I didn't prepare much for is drinking more water during the race and how that could affect my body. I should hydrate more before hand that's usually best for me than drinking and running again. Overall still a wonderful experience to mentally challenge myself.

I used to not be able to run for longer than a mile because of how boring and uncomfortable it felt, but yesterday i ran with a tennis ball (bouncing it periodically to force myself to slow down) and ran for 3 miles at an average pace of 13 min/miles

I'm so proud of you and you can be too ! I also started running 3 weeks ago. I was always hating it and remember arriving last at school's marathon. But now, I just realised that I had to change my mindset and encourage myself and be kind and patient and comparing myself to only myself from the past. Now I can see my progress and it motivates me so much ! You do not look ridiculus, nor too slow, you're just at your rythm and obviously in a better place than the previous you who didn't run. Definitely can be applied to any type of activity we postpone.

I have just started the couch to 5k because I am in the worst shape of my life after this year being hospitalised, I had 4 surgeries on my thigh, and inactivity because of my depression. The first day I only got halfway through before I was in too much pain and had to stop and I felt terrible afterwards, second run I managed to finish it with a few breaks and I felt fine, and today I did my third run and I managed to do it without pausing to sit down at all and had hardly any cramping! It's really motivating to see yourself improve every time. I look ahead at the end goal and I'm like oh my god no way am I going to be able to run for 30 mins straight?? But the fact that I'm getting noticeably better every time makes me feel like I just need to trust the process. This morning going for a run was pretty much the first thing I did, and I was like who am I becoming??

I decided to make an attempt at training for running a 5k starting a month ago. I do one day of cardio per week for half an hour. My first 3 were 10 minute incline walk, walk for 1 minute then run for half a minute. This week I pushed it to 1 minute walk and 1 minute run for the 20 minutes. I think I am going to keep that for the next few weeks or until I feel comfortable with it. A dream I had involving my favorite fur baby who left a few months ago inspired me to run one for him. He would have loved to run one.

So inspiring! I especially love how much you cared for your body by taking it slow. I used to run a few years ago and I got up to a half marathon until an injury finally took me out for a couple years. I was running in pain constantly thinking that was the norm, but I never actually give my body time to adapt. I'm currently on week 2 of my c25k and I'm listening to my body for once. Progress over perfection. It's so sweet when you finally crack the code and start osing that unwanted weight. I lost 42 pounds in less than 3 months and have kept it off since then. Key thing to note is that I exercised daily for months, but my issue was the struggle with my calorie intake. It was just impossible for me to eat less. It felt like I wasn't in control of my actions. Adding Phenq pills to my journey just made things easier. Eating less became possible and I also had enough energy to exercise. I talked about this extensively on my channel, though
