Over the years, I have gotten many questions about relationship advice for couples dealing with a serious diagnosis, so I decided to make a new video with more of my thoughts. Remember that my advice about breaking up is more for people who are dating and not in a marriage (because that was our situation at the time). I do think a lot of other things in this video can be helpful for people who are in more committed relationships though!

I thinkwhat makes you both so excellent is that 1. you are very smart, 2. Very verbal and very honest. That is a rare and unbeatable combination.

You are really lucky to have a man like Gray that has stayed beside you through everything. I lost my husband to cancer 6 months before i was diagnosed. I know he would have done everything he could have done for me. These men are few and far between. Thanks for sharing Samantha

Very interesting video Samantha. Well said. It is a very different concept with your thinking of a relationship ending before treatment. I was diagnosed with cancer after 27 years of marriage. Our relationship had already gone through serious health issues and other life issues. No keeping my husband from being with me for treatment.We needed both of us during the journey. Have always thought that when a partner leaves during a crisis that they were possibly only in it for what they could get out of it for themselves. Only the good times. Yes during any partnership you both need to give and receive. Sometimes it’s all give or all take. Glad you and Gray went through together. You are showing your strength in your videos. Continued good health, shout out to Q😹😹😹😹

You're so well spoken! I love listening to these types of videos. You make me introspect on a lot of topics and I think I know more about myself because of that! So, thank you!

Your attitude you both have about life and issues that comes your way, also caring about each has made your faces journey both hard and easy at the same time. I think sometimes people in general likes to keep everything all to themselves and that can make a serious illness fight so much harder. Love your videos💗

sometimes I feel it's hard to tell a boyfriend about cancer diagnosis. Cuz I wouldn't know how my boyfriend would react. I never had cancer before but. If cancer ever happened to me it'd be scary to tell my boyfriend cuz I don't want him to get depressed 😔 he sadly already lost both his parents do it. He lives alone. He's been living alone for a long time.

I think it's harder on the person that doesn't have the diagnosis honestly. I always worried about how it would affect him

I love you Samantha and I love Gray too, but can't get over a feeling that maybe you are rushing things a bit. A stage 4 cancer is not cured at only 2 years post-diagnosis. Wouldn't it be better to slow down, make fewer huge changes, minimize all this stress?
@SamanthaL
@SamanthaL 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your concern. If there’s stress things are moving too fast, it’s on your end, not ours! Like I said, every relationship is different and we’re doing fine :)
