You can warm up the windshield with that hair dryer. I live in an apartment and I have a 100 ft extension cord and a hair dryer. And every year where I live, at least twice a year we end up with thick ice. So I end up out there couple hours before work with a hair dryer. I warm up the edges of the driver side door so I can get it open. Then I take the ice off the mirrors with the hair dryer. Then I get in the car (close the door on the hair dryer cord not the extension cord) and melt the ice off the windshield with the hair dryer, from inside.

Ok i'll add 2 or 3 things: 1. line your windows with bubblewrap. 2. Hang a heavy curtain behind the front seating area. You can direct the heat where you are. 3. Hang a heavy curtain around your bed- it is so much easier to conserve heat in a small space. 4. Put some command strips near the ceiling above your bed so you can slide in a thick piece of corrugated cardboard for sleeping. (Something you can paint pretty and hide flat on your bed area when not in use.
