xXMidnight MoonXx well, I’m also a beginner, i do calligraphy with those basic crayola markers, you could try crayola supertips, they aren’t exactly brush pens, but a lot of ppl use them for calligraphy bc of their wide range of colors and they work perfectly, you can most likely find them in stores. If u want real brush pens, I did find some in target the other day, they were the pentel ones, a 12 pack for $19.99 I believe, I haven’t tried them, but I have seen ppl use the black pentel fude brush pen so they might work just as well. I personally think you should start with an online site, like amazon, bc they have a wider variety for cheaper but honestly it’s up to you. Hope this helped x

SAT tips from a uni student who has taken it twice: - when doing practice tests, just do 1 or 2 max to get a sense of timing and how tired you'll be. for all the other times, just practice whichever section you struggle the most with! it's not worth practicing something you've already got down over and over again, since the test is very time-consuming. - yes, it is ok to take the SAT twice! i did this and still got into my top universities! so please don't overwork yourself the day/night before or morning of the SAT. get lots of sleep and eat a good healthy breakfast! - if you're planning to take the SAT with essay, consider practicing the essay even more than the other sections. at least for me personally, i overlooked the essay when practicing for my first test and that reflected poorly in my scores. - Use! The! Breaks! They! Give! You! !!! the breaks are there for a reason. use the bathroom, drink some water, eat a snack, and Sharpen Your Pencils. one of the worst feelings is getting distracted in the middle of your test by thinking, "oh darn, i should have done this during the break" - like, for example, sharpening pencils. - check your answers! it's sooo tempting to just take a nap after you finish a section if you have extra time (i've done it a few times), but look over your answers at least once. when i did this, there was a pretty high chance that i caught a mistake and was able to fix it before turning my test in.

My problem is that when ever I read the textbook, I just get bombarded with new concepts and terms. I just have trouble deciding what is the main focus to take notes on. My teacher does give out reading guides, but I don't want to always rely on that. In college I know damn well that professors are not going to give out reading guides, so I want to learn to take better notes.

My APUSH notes take 7-9 hours each chapter and I still fail the tests 😭😭😭😭 How do you memorize your notes? Like how do you use them to actually study?
@SaraJHudson
@SaraJHudson 4 жыл бұрын
Is because you're focusing on making them cute instead of functional. You are focusing in other things rather than really using the information you're writing. I'm a history teacher and I've had many students like you, pretty notes, bad grades. I suggest you reading the book or pages you need in a calm and comfortable place and using highlighters for the most important things and then deciding what you want to do with that information (a map, a timeline, a graphic map) , and actually study your notes before your exams, rather than making them pretty. Reading is the only thing that made me a history teacher.
@sparkle0859
@sparkle0859 4 жыл бұрын
@@SaraJHudson not really, I didn't try to make them look pretty or use many different colors, pens, etc., in fact they were pretty messy. it just really took me that long to read the chapter and try to summarize the info. In fact my notes were so detailed and extensive that when my classmates saw them they would freak out and say "dude you have issues." Also I would study my notes for literally 2-4 hours before each chapter quiz and still get B's and C's. History is just really hard for me I guess. Luckily apush is over now and next year I have ap econ

i usually make mine pretty because that honestly helped me focus on reading and interpreting the material to fit the way i want. But in order to study with them, i simply will turn the facts into vague questions and answer them the best i can each time. even the smallest fact can be a question. the best thing you can do is understanding the timeline and progression of events so that you could explain to somebody an event that you’ve learned. this is what i do when i study history and it never fails. good luck!

My biggest tip for APUSH is to know. Your. Time. Periods. Back when synthesis was a thing, that killed me on my essays. But time periods are very exact and important in APUSH compared to AP Euro. This also helps to compartmentalize the events because conflicts really swim together here.

how do you add details to these notes (while still keeping it concise) and remember them? how do you balance memorization and learning the bigger picture?
@ozzeey9069
@ozzeey9069 4 жыл бұрын
maizy rogers hey I know this comment is really old but here’s my tip in case you still have this question or for anyone scrolling through old videos (note:these really only work for APs) I recommend looking up your classes “Course Description” on CollegeBoard’s website. It’s a big pdf that has all the units and topics broken down. Each topic has Essential Questions (usually about 1-3). Before I start taking notes for specific chapters, I write down the essential question(s) for that topic. Then, when im down taking notes, I go back and bullet point as much information I remember that would answer that essential question. It’s a good way to learn the specifics while also keeping in mind the big idea that collegeboard wants you to learn. Ex. from AP World Essential Question for topic 3.2: How did rulers use a variety of methods to legitimize and consolidate their power in land-based empires from 1450 to 1750? What I would write: • Religion-Divine Right of Kings, etc. •Architecture-Palace of Versailles, etc. • Bureaucracies- Employing bureaucrats (ex. English Tudors using the Justices of the Peace), Louis XIII and Peter the Great having their bureaucrats live in close proximity, etc.

Wow! I took this class my junior year as well, but my notes were never this neat. My teacher lectured all of these notes during class and I definitely did not have time for this of system. Instead, I opted for all contrasting colors instead of one aesthetic theme to cut studying time. (I think it's important to have neat notes, but having color-codes makes it "stupid-proof" if you're on the go and studying last minute or need a final review before a big test, but that's me, oof.) Either way, beautiful notes! I hope you get a 5 if you decide to take the APUSH exam in May! Also, good luck to rest of you guys also taking this course!

I'm literally finishing homework at 10:00 at night...What a great way to start my night routines with. That's why I would never make a "My evening/night rountine", it's just too complicated.. homework and all. Ugh, I wish we didn't have so much homework. And my parents are always asking why do my friends always have time, even with homework? And the answer is because I have so many extra curricular activities that they signed me up for, I can't have time for anything else! :(

Ok was it me or was that APUSH exam uncomfortably easy?? Like I felt pretty good about it but then everyone else felt really good about it so that's kind of a bad sign...

Does the Kokuyo Campus loose leaf paper (B5) fit into the Muji B5 binder?? If you (or anyone else) know, please tell me... Cause I feel like using the muji binder with both the grid paper from muji and the lined paper from kokuyo...

I don't remember if I asked this question in one of your other videos or one of your Instagram post, so I apologize if I asked this question already. I was just wondering what kind of paper you're using? I've seen you use it for a lot of your notes and I really like the paper.
