Python Hunting With Chance The Winner of The Florida Python Bowl. It's been awhile since I've gone hunting for pythons but tonight i'm back out hunting pythons with my buddy chance. Chance and his father just won the Florida python bowl and I could't be happier for them. They found 2 python nest with baby python hatchling which is incredible.

It’s good to see native animals taking a stand and realizing that pythons are food for them. So they are taking out the babies. It’s awesome to see people care so much about their environment to get out there and hunt them.

Went camping last year in the Adirondacks in October. Nice 50* days, the owls were out at night. They were eating all of the mice. We had food the mice came out. They got none of our food. The owls got full belly's. They scare the hell out of you at 3:00 AM.When the WHO WHO,YOU JUMP UP.

To echo what Mike said about the Everglades coming back, I took the kids on a tour of Shark Valley about 5 years ago. The guide explained that all of the small mammals had disappeared. It's great to see the natives are flourishing or at least growing in population after such a short time. Great job to Mike and the rest of Florida's awesome python hunters!

Back in 1986, when I moved back to FL, I used to see majestic birds, an occasional Panther or Deer, lots of wild Rabbits as well as other mammals. Now one rarely sees these Animals. It breaks my heart to see the slaughter and disappearance of our native species due to Pythons, African Dragons and the explosion of South American Iguanas... It's ridiculous what irresponsible exotics hoarders have done to Florida. I thank you for your work and I hope you're making a relatively good living catching and helping to control the madness. Best of luck Chance!

I have been binge watching this channel for some time now! Boy, Mike is awesome! Hunting requires enormous amounts of patience and persistence. Thanks for sparing us by not posting the entire hunting trip but just the ones he catches one. His dogs are the proof of his compassion to animals. The snakes he is catching are not native to Florida and have no natural enemies. If we don’t control their population it will wipe out the native wildlife. I don’t think we can completely get rid of pythons from Florida but we cannot stop removing these invasive species. Good job!

I used to hunt bullfrogs around the catfish ponds around Belzoni Mississippi back in the 80s. I'm not exaggerating the least bit when I say I've killed lots of them the size of a cottontail rabbit. My uncle thought they were so big because they were eating some of the catfish food. I'd be willing to bet you can still find guys and maybe some girls hunting those big bullfrogs at night around the ponds. My uncle sure loved those fried frog legs.

I live in the UK so snakes are not an issue here. The stuff I have learnt from Mike & his team has been a real eye opener, an education and fascinating. I've heard of Florida but not the Florida Everglades. Watching Mike's and other python hunters videos, I was surprised at the vast expanse of land and waterways the Everglades consists of and the many number of Islands. I could not touch a snake for love nor money, if I'm out gardening and I accidently touch a common old earthworm I run indoors squealing like a girl, so watching these bad'ass guys n gals tackling the python invasion is like watching a work of art. You got me hooked. I've watched every video several times. I love Mike's southern drawl especially when he's talking to the dogs....."bubba". Carry on your important good work especially as now you are seeing signs of animals surviving in their own habitat. That shot of the killer owl was brilliant, especially Mike saying to the owl, 'bastard, you bastard gone stole my hatchling'.....he adds just the right amount of humour. Look forward to watching many more videos and updates on the eco system and the war of the the python invasion. Thank you for sharing your videos, I look foward to watching many more. Just as a foot note: would it not be possible to dredge the waterways stretch at a time using nets? It was just something I picked up on when Mike said the pythons spend 80% of their time in water. Just a thought. 😊😊😊😊

Hate to say it, but I'm glad that barn owl stole that snake. That'll be one happy healthy owl, and there will be plenty more of those devil snakes to catch. To me, it's just more evidence of an ecosystem that's recovering and getting more healthy, thanks in large part to people like you. Keep up the good work! I know it's a never ending job, but at least you're giving our native species a running chance, and that was definitely not happening before. The same thing is happening with feral pigs, lion fish, and a host of other invasives. Out west we have entire forests which are dead and dying because of the Japanese bark beetle. Some of the forest fires they're having are actually a blessing in disguise. Though I don't sanction burning down millions of acres of forest, it does rid the area of those horrible things. It took 80 years for the bark beetle to spread as far as it has, and now those forests will have 80 years beetle free to recover from the fires. They won't be back to normal in my lifetime, but maybe in the lifetimes of the kids growing up today.

It's pretty cool to see that the efforts to control the python population have started working. Mother nature seems to be doing her part to pitch in given the chance. They are beautiful snakes and I hate that they have to be killed, but there's no real alternative. It's not their fault they ended up there. It's ours so it's on us to deal with it. As kids in South Africa we would catch African rock pythons for the local snake park for cash to buy ammo and we used to take a 3 x 3 foot piece of chicken wire with us. When we found a python we would get it to strike at the chicken wire and its teeth would get stuck on the chicken wire as they were back facing so they could not get free and then it was easy to wrestle the python into a bag. We used to catch a few and put them on the back of our bicycle and the drive to the snake park and sell them. We would then cycle to the army base and buy a box of 1250 rounds of 22 ammo to go hunting rock pigeons and iguanas etc. This was in the 1970,s in Cape Town when no-one thought anything of a 14 year old cycling around with a 22 rifle on his bike. Those were great days. I really miss them.

You should kill the hatchlings on site and put them back so native wildlife get used to eating them. Then they will start hunting them on their own. Just a thought
