The Table of Contents for Our Lives The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. (Proverbs 18:21) In a sense, the words that we speak are the table of contents for our lives. What we say gives away who we really are. Jesus said, “For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart” (Matthew 12:34-35) The Bible also tells us, “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences” (Proverbs 18:21) Christians who never would consider murder can be guilty of character assassination and backbiting. Yet the Bible warns about this and tells us that it’s wrong. Our words can hurt others. In 1 Peter 3:10 we read, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies” Words can chart the course of our lives. Saying “I do” means marriage for life, or at least it should. Saying “I won’t” to the offer of drugs, alcohol, and premarital or extramarital sex will free us from a lot of misery and the consequences of sin. And saying “I will” to the offer of forgiveness from Jesus Christ will change our eternal destiny. James points out, “We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. . . . In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire” (3:3, 5) God did not give us vocal cords, a tongue, and lips to tear down and destroy others. Rather, He gave them to us so we can build up others, speak the truth, and worship Him. The highest use of our words is to offer them in praise and honor to God.

One warning about tuna - watch your mercury consumption. I had a phase where canned tuna became my main protein in my meal prep, to the point where I was consuming 4 cans a day. And then a friend pointed out mercury, and I did my research and you’re only supposed to have like 2 cans a week😂😂 so just be careful with consuming too much (also goes for other fish like salmon, but tuna is generally worse)
@MyCompAndGadgetHacks

Not usually a problem if you choose light tuna like skipjack also tuna contains selenium which binds to mercury. Sardines and salmon are generally a good alternative to tuna.

It's not a very good hack here either. Where I checked it's $54 for a wrap platter, around 2,600 calories in total. You're stuck with the platter options they list which means you're getting anywhere between 23g of protein for the chicken strip wrap to 15g for the leg ham one, or 4g of fat in the leg ham one to 14.9g in the Italian BMT. On a dollar per calorie basis it's pretty crappy.

Exactly! Anyone saying it's "too expensive" to eat healthy is just gonna say it takes too much time, they don't have the equipment, they can't eat those foods, and they can't cook at all. At that point you gotta realize they're grasping at straws to look for reasons not to better themselves. After seeing this same pattern over and over again, I decided that what matters is if you WANT to do it, or you DON'T!

Here is how I hit 153 grams per day on €10 budget in Europe (Netherlands): 1. Breakfast | XXL Nutrition protein pancake: 21 grams of protein, €1,06 per serving. 2. Lunch | Lidl Protein Pudding: 20 grams of protein, €1,39 per serving (often 50% off tho). 3. Snack | 150 grams chicken filet | 39 grams of protein, €1,28 per serving 4. Dinner | my wife cooks and we eat healthy, on average 25 grams of protein, costs vary... Probably around €3-4. 5. Pre-workout | no protein, €0,93 per serving. 6. Protein Shake | 49 grams of protein, €1,58 per serving. Total protein: 153 grams Costs per day: €9,50 (approximately).

@@abimbolaytim assuming he's using the meal prep maths behind it, 10$ worth of meals a day for 7 days adds up to $70 worth of groceries for a whole week, which is on average what I tend to spend on the budget friendlier side, which is not too shabby.
@abimbolayt
@abimbolayt Жыл бұрын
@@strike.22 I see in my opinion I feel like $70 a week/ $300 a month (x52, /12) is a bit too much for just one person. But groceries might be more expensive where you guys live. In the UK I could do my weekly shop for probably under £50 (that’s being generous).
@Rick020
@Rick020 Жыл бұрын
@@abimbolayt I do. I only value having a different dinner every other day. The rest I purely eat for protein/low calorie meals. €9,50/day sounds expensive, but I'm in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and only spend a little above the national average of €7,90/day. However, my salary is far above the average person (almost 1,5x). So it's not like I notice spending €300/month on food for myself. Food is barely 10-15% of my total monthly costs.

So I did the math for my country. 500g of chicken breast is around 155g of protein. 4 eggs are about 25g of protein. Together coming in at a total of 180g of protein. In Belgium a kilo of chicken is about €3.5 euros and one egg is €0.30, so if you buy around 3.5kg’s of chicken a week and 28 eggs a week (measured from the amount of protein per day). This calculates down to about €12.25 a week for the chicken and around €8.50 for the eggs, giving you a total of €20.75 a week, or just about €3 euro’s a day. You can grind the chicken down and mix the eggs to make patties, add them between nutrient dense buns to get the carbs and cook the patties in high quality fats to get your fats (ofcourse you wouldn’t be eating chicken burgers every day, but if you did it would be that easy)

What I sometimes eat for breakfast or dinner: 2 slices of protein bread with "Harzer Käse" or "Handkäse" (literally translated as "Harzer Cheese" and "Hand cheese"). They're low fat/high protein cheeses and pretty commonly available here in Germany. Basically every supermarket has them. The bread has 21.5g of protein per 100g. 2 slices are ~110g so the bread has ~23g of protein. I put 100g of the cheese on EACH slice. 100g of that cheese have ~120Kcal and 30g of protein. So these 2 slices of protein bread with this cheese amount to 83g of protein. Price? A 200g pack of the cheese costs 1.79€ to 1.99€ (incl. 19% VAT) and the bread is 1.99€ for 500g (9 slices). So the bread cost like 0.50€. So total price: 2.30€ to 2.50€ for 83g of protein.

I used to think, "there's no way I would spend extra for protein pasta". till I started to be hyper vigilant with my macros and kind of noticed my portions would be a lot smaller anyway because all the added protein I have with it. so now I don't have any buyers remorse when I get it.

Lean mince is way more expensive where I live (Northern Ireland), 5% fat is the leanest and is up to twice as expensive as 20% fat. You can get 18%, 12% as well, so I usually get the 12%

I mean if y'all don't mind chicken breast. I slam a pound a day which comes out to 124-135 give or take. It's not as much as you might think, that amount easily fits into a bowl. I also have okikos Greek yogurt along with canned tuna and a protein shake for good measure. At the end of the day I eat 180-200g of protein per day. I spend 40 dollars on groceries a week. Not including the protein powder. This is what works for me. I'll usually throw in some ground elk and rice in the mix from time to time as well. You can mix and match this however you want it's straight no fluff meal prep, hope this helps someone.

For years, I battled with unwanted weight gain. I just couldn't seem to lose those extra calories no matter how much I exercised. But I finally realized that it was my diet which is the main culprit because I was not consuming enough protein and fiber while constantly eating snacks that contained sugar and lots of palm oil which left me craving that for more. Then, I discovered a game-changer, Alpino Rolled Oats and it's peanut butter. This combo is a dream, it's packed with high protein to keep me feeling full and help me build muscle, plus tons of fiber to maintain my weight. But the best part is this is unbelievably delicious! No boring protein shakes or bland oatmeal for me. Alpino Oats and peanut butter satisfy my cravings without any added sugar. It's the perfect solution for anyone looking to lose weight without sacrificing taste. Workou

One great tip that helped me was buying a whole chicken,it can be a pre made rotisserie chicken or you could bake it,one chicken can last you 1-2 days and it has a ton of protein,and it's relatively cheap.Add some sides to it and you've got balanced meals stacked with protein,get some baked potatoes,rice,veggies and make sure to season the chicken,no one likes it dry

Subway platter is $60 (after tax) in Canada. There are so many international food recipes I wanna try but I do not know how to make them. Eating somewhat healthy in Canada, isn’t exactly cheap, especially because of inflation and when minimum wage increases, food becomes more expensive. When vegetables are on sale, I make a salad that lasts a few days, it usually contains: lettuce, kale, spring mix, cucumbers, carrots, radish, radicchio and red cabbage. Once in a while I make wraps with lettuce, chicken, cheese and some mayo.

I hit 184 yesterday By drinking a protein shake and eating 19oz of meat (ground beef and pork loin) 4 shrimp and some other things that together was about 40 grams of protein. It was in total 1558 cal. I ate just small tomatoes and onions with the meat.

Right now I'm just eating ground beef, seasoned like a taco with sour cream and cheese. I'm looking to get Vital Wheat Gluten to have bread in my diet while remaining low carb. 2 lbs of ground beef is $10 a day. Not the worst amount, it's still cheaper than say take out everyday, but I need additional sources of protein and VWG is pretty close to protein powder in macros. Which means I can once again eat bread, pasta, pizza, perogies.

Or...for my fellow broke people or eho are trying to save some money - buy 500g mince beef 20% fat + a bag of shredded cheese(lots of protein and fats)...i fry the minced beef in a pad 5_6min...and at the end I'll put half of that 500g shredded cheese on top of the meat and cover with a lid. Omgggg the tasteee! I can t get enough. Its probably 180g protein and 4£. I only eat once a day...sometimes once every 2-3 days vecause is very nutritious👌

My lazy method…protein powder concoctions (shakes, pancakes, oats, etc)…2-3 full eggs with a shit ton of liquid egg whites added over bread or rice (I’ll get fancy and make a viral tiktok omelette version now and then). I use these as a foundation to get within ball park range of target protein numbers. Then to fill the void of the leftover calories a bunch of lean cuisines, random frozen aisle stuff, cheap street tacos, chicken tacos from Taco Bell/del taco, value menu burgers, nothing that’ll break the wallet and is macro friendly (mind the sodium intake with the frozen meals if u have health issues) Also That subway hack is a great idea.

If you like them, canned sardines are cheaper than tuna (at least where i live) and probably healthier. Adding legumes to grains compensates their amino acidic profile meaning you get more protein out of them, and they are also usually cheap. I would also add greek yoghurt and cottage cheese.

I love tuna a lot. The sad thing about tuna is that it has a large amount of heavy metals like mercury, so it isn't the safest in insanely large amounts, but it is still a great source of protein

Another thing I'd like to mention for the vegans/people who don't eat much meat or dairy or just anyone who wants cheap af protein- Seitan is your best friend. You can get around 800-900g of Seitan from 2kg of flour, which costs me around 4 eur max. 71g of protein per 100g of Seitan. Super versatile, a little bit of effort to make it or you could just buy it at an Asian supermarket.😊

The problem with hitting a high amount of protein IF you do not have a lot of budget for food is that you spend all your money to get your nutrition in order in but then it’s very bland because everything with decent protein is expensive and you have to compensate with stuff that has a lot of protein but does not taste great. I can hit up to 220g of protein ( luckily I only need 180g ) but boy does my enjoyment of my own diet take a hit if I do. For context, I currently weigh roughly 187lbs ( pretty exactly 85 kg) at 6ft ( 184cm ) with my current goal being to hit 90kg ( 198lbs ) again and maybe afterwards inch towards 95kg ( 209lbs ). I rely heavily on dairy products to make it work which altogether can account for up to 100g, add eggs and ham for an additional 40g, some protein powder ( 20g ) and finally 30g from high protein bread. It’s not bad but it leaves little room for experiments because this is literally the cheapest combination I could come up with.

Subway platter plates are exppensive. I try to make meals $1-1.50/1000kj and subway platters on the low end is $5/1000kj. But one thing I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend is Seacrown Sardines from Coles. One can is 90c and is 600kj with 20g of protein and 1.9g of Omega 3 of which it has the optimal ratio of 2 to 1 DHA to EPA and very little ALA (the precursor that is far less efficient). And since its a small fish, way less heavy metals. Beyond insane value. It can't be just any sardines either, most have nowhere near the omega 3 amount, calorie to cost value or protein amount. Cannot recommend enough.
