Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

Things appear strange right now. the value of the US dollars is declining due to inflation, but is increasing in comparison to other currencies and commodities such as gold and real estate. People are flocking to the dollar because they believe it is safer. I'm worried the rising inflation will cause my $420,000 retirement fund will loose value. What else can we do with our money.

For young investors, patience is very important. Warren Buffett has mastered the art of patience. He has stuck to the markets, having a long term view on the markets. This is what I'm struggling to do, trying to learn how to not react to market news about inflation and all. I have currently set aside about $153k to put in the market now that prices are down. Any stock ideas?
@alexyoung3126

True. But it takes some gut to really remain in the market despite downturns and all. So just find quality stocks that have long term potential, and ride with those stocks. I have found it takes someone who is very familiar with the market, a professional, to make such good picks.

I was saying the same thing. University for the people is something new that Instagram was sending me ads about, how they can afford ads is questionable, but it's apparently free accredited college education. Also, MIT and other major colleges give or share content absolutely free that someone could learn it they just couldn't say that they have a degree in it.
@seanfdaly
@seanfdaly Жыл бұрын
The point I am making is even some of these non-conmen are not right for many people but because of cleaver marketing and increasing the pain of the current situation more then it is or even was myself and many people got sucked in.
@StephenCourson
@StephenCourson Жыл бұрын
That's true to some degree. But there's an easy way to screen those courses. If that person has a KZbin/Podcast with free media, absorb all of that. If you get value from that, then the course will likely be worth the cost, whatever it is. If they don't offer free, valuable media, then ignore it and move on.
@magma2680
@magma2680 Жыл бұрын
yeah but just like the knowledge itself, you need to grow to be able to realise what is low or high value. When you've got some knowledge, you know when someone is just pushing a course for pure profit because they're just like you except they don't have morals and will teach what they don't even know.

It is really good that you do. I know a lot of people who have made a lot from the stock market. But you need to spend a lot of time studying the market if you want to be a pro, or you use a stock advisor who really knows what they are doing.

For real, people underestimate how much they can rake in from the stock market. Started with $127k just before the pandemic hit. Many people's portfolios tanked, but I rode through with my financial advisor, and even made more than $86k within just five months of starting, and it's been an awesome ride since then.

Ok, not that I'm opposed to the concept of investing in yourself and increasing your income instead of dumping it into the S&P500, but let's just be clear that to become a Phlebotomist, it is NOT a 2 day thing... At MINIMUM it's 40 hours of education, 40 hours of clinical experience, and passing a certification of some sort from whatever state you're in, or a national certification. In addition, most times you're required to have industry experience of 6 months-1year..
