Hi Riley, Great video. What are signs that the market needs a little more time before it reverses? (5:10)
@RileyColeman2 жыл бұрын
That's a really hard one to give a rule that works every time. A big one thought can be momentum in the market. If there is a lot of momentum or strong trend I will usually give it longer to reverse. I'll just skip the initial reversal entry signal because it's not as high of a probability of working out.

Thanks, Riley! Quick question. Do you trade futures with extended hours always on. I know previously for the squeeze type swing trades the extended hours was off, so I was curious if you take that same approach with futures as well. Thank you in advance!

@tonymaulorico82742 жыл бұрын
Riley - I appreciate everything you do and have learned a ton of strategies by following your channel. I do have a question for you though. In regards to squeezes, do you always have extended hours off? I ask because I have been bouncing back and forth from having them on and off, but the indicators tend to show very different signals and I'm getting caught in the middle. Can you explain when you would have the extended hours trading on vs. off? Thank you!
@RileyColeman2 жыл бұрын
I generally use it with extended hours off. I wouldn't bounce between them much. Yes it will give you different signals but that's because you are adding more candles. I didn't like using extended because often overnight can be choppy which is more likely to produce a squeeze which felt like a false signal.

A lot of what he says is good, but realize that he is selling a course. While you don't *have* to start with $25K, you're better off if you do. Because instead of trading MES (micro e-mini) during your training you can trade SPY, which is 1/50 the size of MES, but makes the same movements. Better advice that I've heard: start with at least $5K. Expect to lose it. Call it tuition. It takes a long time and a lot of work to learn to trade well. You *will* lose for quite some time. (Here's a challenge: try to find an honest person who started with $5K and didn't lose all of it.)
@RileyColeman2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think you should start with more then necessary. Sure you should expect to lose some money and count it as a learning expense but don’t start out with real money start with a demo account because you will learn almost as much doing that without losing a ton of money.
@C00ltronix2 жыл бұрын
Note that SPY, I think you mean the options, falls under the PDT rule, so you have only 3 day trades per week. MES (Futures) do not have that rule.
@oneguyontheinternet99982 жыл бұрын
@@C00ltronix You're part right. SPY does fall under the PDT rule, but it's not an option. More importantly, if you have $25K, the PDT rules place no restrictions on the number of trades - which is why SPY is the better way to train. Low risk with no restrictions. I am IN NO WAY suggesting that you risk the $25K - but having it in your account allows you to escape the PDT trade restrictions.
@ExpoLane2 жыл бұрын
@@oneguyontheinternet9998 I get what you're saying but not everyone has $25k saved up. Plus I don't think this is good advice at all "Better advice that I've heard: start with at least $5K. Expect to lose it. Call it tuition." You shouldn't just expect to lose $5k. One should learn until they have a firm grasp of the basics. Technical analysis, order types etc Then paper trade until they're comfortable with the platform and are consistantly profitable Then start with a really small account /MES is great for this because it's only $50 and it's $5 a point To just go in blindly and be like "Yup I'm going to lose $5k" is not a very smart thing to do
@oneguyontheinternet99982 жыл бұрын
@@ExpoLane If I might offer a friendly suggestion: Take what I said (word for word, no inferences of going in blindly), show it to some people who have been trading real money for over a year, and get their opinions. Then show them your ideas for success and get their thoughts on that. I wish you the best of luck. :)
