The 3/16" hose is VACUUM HOSE line, NOT 3/16" irrigation line that I replaced the gas line with. Thus far, I've replaced the LED headlamp, the spark plug, the gas line with clear irrigation line per Mr. Virberello. Recently, the vacuum lines cracked in half. Thought that the irrigation line would work. Just occurred to me, five days later, that maybe the hose lines are different material. NO ONE mentioned this. Thought about getting a new battery and adjusting the valve for pete's sake - and I bought all the tools to do so much work. I know my 2021 Boomer 49cc scooter, inside out by now. The speedo cable broke awhile back, bought a new one for replacement, but I have to take off the wheel to replace the housing for the end of the cable. Not willing to do that now. It has 5000 miles on it, to date. Got it last June, ride it all over town. I've replaced the left brake handle cuz it dropped while parked/ running. America's tires offers tire air filling attendant. They're kind enough to check the air in my scooter monthly. I've changed the oil twice. Gear oil once. I have a brand new socket wrench set - spent the last two days trying to change the spark plug w/ 5/8" socket - right? WRONG. I need a SPARK PLUG SOCKET - which I got at Auto Zone. I ordered the 3 way T-VACUUM connector as advised in this video. Won't be here till Friday. There's a reason I'm learning all about scooters - If I don't maintain my ride, no one around here works on Chinese scooters. I could be on to something...right? Mr. Virberello, you're my 'go to'. My 55+ neighborhood thinks I'm brave for riding a scooter on the streets (I'm insured and registered) AND a whiz for fixing it, cuz I'm an ol' lady. I love my scooter. I didn't mean to digress, but I'd be lost w/o you....recompense is on the way $$$.

Hey! I have a baotian ghost 125cc from 2010. I took off the carburetor to clean it since the scooter was running a bit slow. When I went to put it back I had mixed up all the fuel and vacuum lines going from the carburetor. After watching your video I managed to connect the vacuum lines to the petcock valve to allow fuel to the carburetor. Now, there are 2 ports/ connectors on my carburetor that I don’t know where to connect, even after watching multiple videos. One on the bottom which im pretty sure is a overflow valve, and one above this overflow port. I have no idea where to connect this port to. It is under the fuel intake port on the left side, but above the overflow port. Any ideas where to connect it to? Thanks for sharing and educating those of us who are struggling with this!
@VirberelloScooterTips7 ай бұрын
Hi! I'm glad to help. Let's break down the connections on your carburetor. Carburetor Ports Explained: Overflow Port (Bottom Port): As you suspected, this is indeed an overflow port. It usually has a hose attached that routes to the ground, allowing excess fuel to drain safely away from the engine and exhaust. Mystery Port (Above the Overflow Port): This port is likely the float bowl vent or another vacuum port. It’s crucial for proper carburetor operation as it helps to equalize pressure and allows fuel to flow correctly. Steps to Identify and Connect the Ports: Verify the Overflow Port: Attach a hose to the overflow port and route it downwards, away from the engine and exhaust, to ensure any excess fuel can drain safely. Identify the Upper Port: This port is typically for venting or a vacuum line. Here’s how to determine where it should connect: Common Connections for the Upper Port: Vent Line: If it’s a vent port, it should be left open to the atmosphere or connected to a vent hose that routes upward and is secured in place, ensuring it doesn’t draw in dirt or debris. Vacuum Line: If it’s a vacuum port, it will connect to a corresponding vacuum source. Common connections include: Intake Manifold: Some scooters have a vacuum port on the intake manifold or a vacuum T-connector that splits the vacuum line to multiple destinations. Petrol (Petcock) Valve: This is already connected, but ensure the petcock has no additional vacuum ports. Emissions Equipment: If your scooter has emissions controls (e.g., EGR, PAIR system), the port might connect to these components. Practical Steps: Inspect for Unused Ports: Check the intake manifold and surrounding areas for any unused ports or connections that might match the hose size of your carburetor port. Consult the Manual or Schematics: If you have access to the Baotian Ghost 125cc manual or a schematic, check the diagrams for carburetor connections. This can provide a definitive answer. Test Vent vs. Vacuum: Temporarily leave the port open (like a vent) and start the scooter. If it runs poorly or fuel doesn’t flow correctly, it’s likely a vacuum port. Alternatively, block the port and see if the scooter runs better or worse, helping you identify if it needs to be connected to vacuum. Troubleshooting Tips: Observe the Engine Behavior: After connecting or leaving the port open, observe how the engine behaves. Any drastic changes can guide you toward the correct setup. Check for Fuel Flow Issues: If the scooter still runs slow or stalls, recheck all vacuum lines and ensure there are no leaks or incorrect connections. By following these steps, you should be able to determine the correct connection for the mystery port on your carburetor. If further clarification is needed, consulting the user manual or seeking assistance from a professional mechanic might be beneficial. Thank you for watching my video and I hope this can help you

@@VirberelloScooterTips Hey. Thanks you so much for taking the time to explain it in detail. Just got it running like new today. Besides the fuel and vacuum lines that you explained, there are two other thicker black hoses on my Evo 150cc Taotao scooter. They start off at the right-hand side of the scooter. One of those hoses goes to the front of the scooter's engine where it is connected. The other thicker black hose is connected to what looks like a black canister at the right-hand side of the scooter's frame. However, at its end, this thicker black hose (about double the size of the vacuum lines) is not connected to anything on my scooter and is just hanging by itself. I am suspecting that it is the reason why the scooter is not starting. Also, on the left-hand side of the scooter's frame, there is what looks like another black canister which has two hose connections, one small another one bigger, but then there are no hoses connected to it. I suspect that the lose thicker black hose that is just dangling in the middle of the scooter fell off from that. May that be the case? However, I don't want to connect that hose to the black canister on the left side of the scooter because I am not sure that it is supposed to be connected there. So far, I have searched in vain and have not found a KZbin video with an explanation of the purpose for those thicker black hoses on the scooter. Are they part of the scooter 's vacuum system? Please advise. I look forward to hearing from because I like your style of explaining scooter issues.

@VirberelloScooterTips is it necessary to have? If the tank doesn’t have the petcock do you just cover that vacuum line?
@VirberelloScooterTips Жыл бұрын
If your gas scooter's tank doesn't have a petcock, and there is a vacuum line connected to it, you should not simply cover the vacuum line as a solution. The vacuum line serves a crucial purpose in the fuel system of your scooter. The vacuum line is responsible for controlling the flow of fuel from the gas tank to the engine. When the engine is running, it creates a vacuum that pulls fuel from the tank through the vacuum line into the engine's carburetor or fuel injection system. Blocking or covering the vacuum line can disrupt this process and cause fuel flow issues, which can lead to poor performance or stalling of the engine. If your gas scooter is missing the petcock, there are a few options you can consider: Replace the petcock: Look for a suitable replacement petcock for your scooter's gas tank. You can check with the scooter's manufacturer, authorized dealers, or online retailers for the correct part. Install an inline fuel valve: If you cannot find an exact replacement petcock, you can install an inline fuel valve in the vacuum line. An inline fuel valve functions similarly to a petcock, allowing you to manually control the fuel flow. Seek professional help: If you are unsure about handling the fuel system or making modifications, it's best to consult a qualified mechanic or technician. They can assess the situation, recommend the right solution, and ensure proper installation and safety. Remember, working with the fuel system of any vehicle requires caution and precision to avoid potential hazards. It's essential to take the appropriate steps to maintain a safe and functional fuel system in your gas scooter. Thank you for watching my video

I replaced the carburetor myself and replaced the air filter. Scooter runs fine about a mile or so then starts bogging down or like flooded when I pull full throttle but idles fine. What do I need to do? I’m also trying to adjust the fuel mixture and idle screw just right? Any help would be appreciated been struggling for months since I got to back from the mechanic to fix the belt, never had issues with scooter till after mechanic
@VirberelloScooterTips11 ай бұрын
It sounds like you've done some good troubleshooting already by replacing the carburetor and air filter. However, there are a few more things you can check and adjust to improve the performance of your scooter: Check for Air Leaks: Make sure there are no air leaks in the intake system. Even a small leak can cause issues with the air-fuel mixture. Inspect the intake manifold, gaskets, and any hoses for cracks or looseness. Verify Fuel Flow: Ensure that fuel is flowing smoothly from the tank to the carburetor. Check for any obstructions in the fuel line or fuel filter that could be restricting flow. Adjust Fuel Mixture: Since you mentioned adjusting the fuel mixture screw, try turning it slightly in both directions to see if it improves performance. Start with small adjustments and test the scooter after each adjustment to find the optimal setting. Idle Adjustment: Adjusting the idle screw may also help. Make small adjustments and test the scooter to find the smoothest idle setting. Check Spark Plug: A fouled or worn spark plug could also cause performance issues. Remove the spark plug and inspect it for any signs of fouling or wear. Replace if necessary. Clean Carburetor Jets: Even though you replaced the carburetor, it's possible that the jets are dirty or clogged. Remove and clean the jets according to the manufacturer's instructions. Inspect Ignition System: Check the ignition system components such as the ignition coil, spark plug wire, and CDI unit for any issues that could affect spark delivery. Compression Test: Perform a compression test to ensure the engine is in good condition. Low compression can lead to poor performance. Consult a Professional Mechanic: If you've tried all of the above and are still experiencing issues, it may be best to consult a professional mechanic who specializes in scooters. They may have additional diagnostic tools and expertise to identify and fix the problem. By methodically checking and adjusting these components, you should be able to diagnose and resolve the performance issues with your scooter.

I have a gy 6 scooter and am trying to fix a flooding problem that is stopping my scooter from running.
@VirberelloScooterTips Жыл бұрын
Hey there! It sounds like you're dealing with a common issue on your Gy6 scooter. Flooding can be caused by a few different factors, so let's try to troubleshoot it together. Check the Carburetor: A common cause of flooding is a stuck or dirty carburetor float. You might want to remove the carburetor and inspect the float and needle valve. Make sure they move freely and aren't blocked by debris. Fuel System: Ensure that your fuel lines and petcock are working correctly. A leak in the fuel system or a faulty petcock can lead to flooding. Air Filter: A clogged air filter can also cause a rich air-fuel mixture and flooding. Check and replace the air filter if it's dirty. Spark Plug: A fouled spark plug can cause combustion issues, leading to flooding. Inspect and replace the spark plug if needed. Idle Screw: Check the idle screw setting on the carburetor. If it's turned in too far, it can lead to a rich mixture. Adjust it to the correct setting. Float Height: Make sure the float height is set correctly. An incorrect float height can cause fuel to overflow into the carburetor, leading to flooding. Clean the Carburetor: If you haven't cleaned the carburetor recently, it's a good idea to do so. Remove it, clean all the components, and reassemble it carefully. Fuel Quality: Ensure you're using fresh, clean fuel without any contaminants or water. After checking and addressing these factors, you should have a better idea of what's causing the flooding problem. Remember to make adjustments carefully and don't force anything. If the issue persists, you may want to consult your scooter's manual or seek professional help. Good luck, and I hope your scooter runs smoothly again soon

Hay is John Lovell again. I viewed your video plus somebody Else that was 11 years old. So between both i checked my vacuum lines. In the older video he showed the fuel filter up on line right out of tank. Mine is located on front side of pee cock closer to carburetor. So all that was okay. But looking more there is a vacuum line up more from manifold, i guess you could call it the valve cover. Well tha line was badly crimped so cut and reattached it. But this hose runs from valve cover to a different 3 way spitter. One line in now tucked under top layer of a foam air filter. And zipped tied in place. Okay back to splitter the vacuum line runs back to the top of cover I guess the belt is located at. Did you Follow that. Maybe you can explain to me why a vacuum line is on valve cover. I had a different air filter but it broke off. The foam filter that was in it was only about less then 1/4 thick. And it was attracted with a plastic tie. Hope this works so bike will not stall out again.
