Knowing Police made it actually difficult to balance really shows how much of an absolute god he is. "Is this the kart that I've made OP or is Police just making it look really good?" I think this mod displays why Blue Shell & shocks doing big damage is important. It keeps the race interesting and competitive instead of one person just breaking away and winning.

He mainly balanced it for competitive Mario kart Wii races, not really for public matches as much. It makes sense why the more competitive players wouldn't want to be blown up so much by super powerful items.

You and ArcIntel should work together and make a riibalanced tier chart for the vehicles. You’ve done something like this before and with so many changes to the vehicles, it would be interesting to see how some of the top tier vehicles in vanilla mkwii compare to some of the rebalanced vehicles

Yo, bit late to the party, but about 6 months ago the Riibalanced Discord Server actually released a Community Voted Tier List where some of our top players ranked the vehicles, and those vehicles were split into tiers using math. I'm obsessed with the super blooper in this mod. Bowser Jr. Super Blooper to be exact. It is so amazingly mediocre in every stat, but with a low drift start angle (or something like that), performance transmission but also pretty good off-road, good miniturbo. To me the super blooper feels like all the archetypes in this mod nerved and smashed together. If you guys haven't tried it out you should!

i think i agree with the UI criticisms, both as a player and a graphic designer. To me, the ‘simplest’ design is one that fits into its intent most naturally. The most simple and effective design does not necessarily have to be visually reductive, it has to be the most accurate given the context. A complex visual can be the simplest design, just as well as the most reductive one, and the goal is to make a design that isn’t noticeable and doesn’t get in the way, which is almost always proceeded by a complex process. The current UI just looks too flat for mario kart wii. The vanilla mkw UI could be less detailed, but not this much in my opinion. Additionally, i see a lot of frustrating lack of exceptions and rules that are followed through despite producing a bad result. Case in point: king boo player map icon. I can only compare this to type design, because that’s the field i know things about; when you design a typeface, you should, generally, make a rule out of the exceptions, not the other way around. You may want to start designing the H and O and h, but the overall rules for stuff like kerning have to be made with the most difficult or annoying pairs like ‘vy’ or or ‘ry’ or ‘Ty’ in mind. You do not make your rules based on one aesthetic judgement and no context as for what you’re designing. When coming up with a system of icons, and you only have to make ones for a 24 character roster, and you know at least 1 of those characters is just a sphere with a face and a crown, it is the designers job to realise that making a rule about removing either spheres, crowns, or faces, will make this character’s icon look either bad or horribly bad. The 2 solutions for problems like this are just to make an adequate ruleset that works with all characters, or make exceptions that work visually within your system. That king boo icon is one of the many character icons that look bland, flat, and barely recognisable, like Rosalina, Bowser Junior, DK, dry bones and koopa. An illustrative icon is still and icon and in this case would definitely make things more simple. I know that clusters of players can make the icons look like a mess, but I can’t see a reason to take a set of icons that sometimes look bad, and then fix that problem by making half of them always look bad. The typography is also a big change but I think it’s nothing you can’t get used to. It is a bit odd to me, i would definitely make the slash at least slightly bigger and the colon should stop trying to fly off into the sunset. i don’t think it makes sense for me to go into more detail, but yeah, the UI could definitely be improved imo.

I think a compromise that could be made with the people who hate the blooper is the ability to get rid of it with a boost or something like normal Mkwii because then you could actually have strategy on how to deal with it

I’ve downloaded a mod that makes it so that you press the item button to make the thundercloud appear, instead of it just appearing automatically. I guess that’s an idea you could steal if you still find the thundercloud to be annoying at this point.

this mod is so challenging made by Ark, I'm so glad you guys are in videos together discussing about things, the texture hack tracks are so fantastic, and the map with mods are known as race.szs, characters, items, battle, time, finish line, on the screen, common.szs is known as a custom item pack, to change the items in different models and other things, BREFF, known as RKRace.breft, such as images of the item effects, bananas, fake item box, lightning, thundercloud, blooper, POW block, mushrooms, golden mushroom, bullet bill, bob bombs, blue shells, red shells, green shells, mega mushroom, star, BREFF effects, hitting already hit and spinning around effects, burn out effects, smoke effects, blooper ink effects, explosion effects, picking item box effects, fake item box electricity effects, POW block on ground effects, star colors, growing animation after using the mega mushroom power up, drifting effects, drift colors, mini turbo boost color, trick effects, wheelie effects, Lakitu, Rosalina's luma, balloon and coin effects, that's all I wanted to let you know about it, but you two enjoy yourselves.

I definitely think it would be much more worth removing the Blooper entirely. "Fixing" it by making the ink splatter humungous is just annoying. Effective, but annoying. At least Mario Kart 8 made your kart slippery, which was less annoying from a spectator point of view while kinda effective. I'd replace the Blooper with triple Fake Item Boxes or the Cape Feather. Also, make the FIB block projectiles. And replace the Thunder Clouds as well.

It looks very front run heavy. It's harder to catch up and at the front you just don't get hit as much anymore. Edit: To people saying "They also changed the point distribution": It's not just that. If you win you get to start the next race in first as well. Making it much more likely to get a break away again and again and again... (Simply reversing the grid would solve this, but moving the chaos back to the front instead of only having it in the mid pack is prefered) But the biggest draw back is the whole balancing it self. Rebalancing the vehicules is fine. Because we all like character and vehicle deversity. But stop there. People who play MKWii today don't play it because it is fair. The pure and utter chaos is what made MKWii. Removing short cuts and nerfing the blue shell as hard as they did is just too much.

They balanced that with faster forward greens and with the point distribution. I think now it goes 12 - 10 - 9 - 8 - etc. I think. So, it might be easier to front run (in some tracks, not all), but the amount of points you get for first compared to the other positions is nerved. Also remember that the vehicles are quite track dependent. I think I remember Arc saying he also changed tracks like desert hills and dry dry desert in terms of traction so off-road vehicles have a bigger advantage there. There is still much to discover. Only after quite some time will we know all the ins and outs of this mod. That is, if more people will play it. I have not been able to find any online rooms, but maybe I did something wrong.

Medium, (Myself) Short, (Their head being shorter than my chin) Tall, (Their chin being taller than the top of my head) I still remember 2 dudes I graduated with who in elementary school I thought of like this, the association randomly disappeared once I grew up but I still have the memory of when I associated height that way.

I used to get my math tests back and whenever I got something wrong it's sometimes because I just mix up my 6's and 9's... idk why but it sure made me think I was dyslexic or something.
