Loved this video. I got my teenage son a couple of the pistol versions, but after seeing this, I gotta have the rifle. Since I actually am a gunsmith, I am always looking for ways to improve things, so that naturally brings up this question: Can these be modified? Moreover, are there any places that do this, or an online store where I can buy upgrades? This is just too fun to leave it stock....just a little bit, of course!

These are essentially an airsoft AEG with some key modifications to use the gel balls. If you want to get really serious about upgrading one of these, build an HPA airsoft gun, then swap out said parts to make it worth with gelbees. I'd bet there are dozens of guides on upgrading Walmart grade ones, or custom building them like I recommended. I'm 27 and I grew up modifying nerf guns to be gnarly as a kid. It was a lot of fun and taught me some physics and mechanical understanding. That being said, an electric powered gearbox firing into a spring powered plunger type assembly will never fire as consistently or as rapidly as an HPA setup
