the vfr started in the 80s, was rushed into production for competition, its wheels wobbled, it ate its own cams due to head oiling direct from the clutch, had a flat plane crank and a wobbly frame, murderous air forks that were linked to the brakes -drank fuel like an airliner yet was one of the greatest sounding bikes ever made. shared its engine with the magna but had that flat plane crank. the good ones came out in the nineties, different and saner firing order on the v4 , one of the best bikes ever made, they go on forever...

The 999r was almost as fast as the DesmosediciRR and they came out at the same time. It is still cheaper than what it cost back then, which was around 40k, and it has been greatly updated. Definitely not for everyone but it is worth every penny.

Gonna comment on the triumph sprint ST, my dad owns a blue one that he’s had from new since 1998 and he absolutely trashed it back in 2019 after riding it through a British winter, me and him have spent the last year completely restoring the bike, everything vapour blasted and powder coated to factory fresh condition, only things we didn’t touch were the fairings, the frame and the engine, absolutely beautiful bike and I used to to pass my full A class bike license last year and I loved it

Previously being involved in vehicle trading (leasing, buying, selling, carloans - car, trucks, bikes), normally, if a stock part is removed and replaced with oem, it may risk the integrity of the vehicle and so the price decreases regardless of how much was the amount of performance parts put into it. Performance parts only sell well if sold privately amongst hobbyists, collectors, and like-minded individuals.

My father had a vfr 1200 from that era, it didn't have the dual clutch transmission , just a good old 1 down five up. Bike is fast in a straight line, easily pulling 100 mph in 3rd gear. it was heavy though and scary in high speed corners due to that. he sold it and bought his fz6r back off of me so I could graduate to an R6 ;).

People must think that YOU should be paying for how much THEY loved their bikes before they decided they had to sell them Totally clueless. No way, pal. Love this...I'm from the Pdx, Vancouver area. In fact I bought a beautiful low mileage 2005 Vulcan from Motorcycle warehouse. Those guys are honest and old school. Many bikes up here are in good shape because we don't have long riding seasons with the rain, cold that we get. So you are basically going to find a sweet bike from someone whos taken care of it or someone whos burned the hell out of it. Bad weather and Bike theft is bad up here so most bikes are kept indoors...

Interesting - at my local tracks they use transponders for track days and racing. I didn't see any safety wires on the bike though, but given the level of mods, AMA stickers, numbers, etc. I figure it's a race bike
@GrAYvTrAnE5 жыл бұрын
@@yammienoob you absolutely can use a transponder for just tracking lap times, but they are really helpful for the folks in Timing & Scoring so we know where you are in that pack of loudly colored everything that just flew by at 120mph. But you are right, no safety wires, no way it would pass tech.
