Boom boxes?? The output power HAS to come from somewhere, it isn't magic. For a boom box with amplifiers like this, it would need about 16 D-cell batteries, and they'd last about 5 minutes. We already have PLENTY of tiny, powerful, amplifier I.C.'s that we could be using in boom boxes, but we dont have the battery technology to power them for long and make it portable.

@@cdashpcp I am sure there is a reason for those regular amps as in being heavy duty use. I am not so sure how these would hold up for people that like to push the limits beyond 80 watts. I am sure there are people that won't go hard on these small amps and that is the market they are made for. My suggestion for buying a few more would be for people to use not to stress a single amp to death.

For a class D chip amp pushing 20W into 8 ohms 90+% efficient, needing minimal heatsinking this is about as big as you would expect without power supply. Onboard 36v boost is all that is required. Seriously it looks impressive until you think about it. There are hundreds of chip amp boards available that would fit in a tiny package. When you get to over 50W into 8 ohms the little packages dry up.

@@nairongruendling4434 I was gonna buy either the 440x4 or the 800x4. Question about your 400x4, have you noticed any class D noise coming through the amp? Like a hiss out of your tweeters? I've heard that some cheaper class D full range amps don't have as good output filtering and let some switching noise through, its generally a very faint hiss that you can only really hear through tweeters. That's what kinda drew me away from them, cause I read a couple reviews about that but a lot of people say there's no hiss, like in this video, but idk lol.
