Guy you all forgot the smart series amps let say 5k are designed to do 5k in any ohm so just because his smart 5 did more at 2 ohm than this amp at 2 ohms it was supposed too.

For this money you can get 4,yes 4 welsh audio wa2k's that dyno at 2300 each. The stetsom numbers are disappointing, I couldn't agree more but nevertheless I highly recommend the dyno and opinions. Ty sir for sharing 👍 🤞

Taramps seem to be the current best bang for the buck. I personally prefer 4 ohm amps to 1 or 1/2 ohm. The reason is because 4 ohm amps will almost always be more efficient.

The amp itself isnt 4 ohm its the wiring of the subs but yes they will be more efficient :) and from what ive learned from some old heads the higher ohm speakers play louder because of the same efficiency

I appreciate that test. I've always respected Stetsom for their amplifiers and that is kind of embarrassing. My ct7 would draw 1100 amps @.33 put it also clamped over 11k😂

I think those numbers are great at .5 ohm and it survived the amp dyno.

Yea .5 and 1 ohm were good. Maybe it’s my bad for assuming it was going to be similar to the smart or big boss amps.

In my mind it's hard to view a reasonably priced 10k amp as a total dud. The QC issues I agree with and for the cost it seems like Taramps are a better value. Thanks for the review!

Nobody rises to .5 ohm lol that's y I went with 3 smart 8s.wire low then rise to 1.5 or 2ohm where taramps still close to rated

Was the amp itself shrink wrapped inside the box when you opened it? Every Stetsom I have was. I've never had one with any of those type issues. Just curious if that one was used and abused then repacked or something.

It did not have the clear heat shrink type wrap on it. It was nicely wrapped in foam sheet that was neatly taped and looked factory. The box as I mentioned was sealed with the Stetsom logo factory seals.

hey idk if this is true but people have been saying this amp has dyno problems from the smart tecnolgy so it dont put out as much as is supposed people have clamped 12 k and 9k

I thought this amp had “smart” technology at first because of how they market it but after doing this test I do not think it does. To me it seems to just be an 8k that’s .5 ohm stable. And looking at the dyno results it pretty much aligns with that so I don’t think it has any smart type technology.

My surge audio 4k hasn't had a single issue, running. .5ohm balls to the wall and doesn't get over 100° all summer long

Hi I have a random question that I need help with from anyone I have a soundstream t5 15 in a soundstream ported box what would be the best most sufficient mono amp for this sub I have been told soundstream trx1000d which I think it puts out 1000rms@1ohm I was also looking at the rubicon nano 1300d which says it puts out 1300@1ohm would the TRX be fine or should I not pick any of these.please help thanks and your videos are always very informative so cheers for that

I knew this amp was not gonna be impressive because its basically the same amp as the taramps bass 8k...they rate this amp from .5-1 ohm which means Theres nothing smart about it!!! ..for it to be a smart amp theyd have to rate it at 1-2ohm not 0.5- 1😂 duh stetsom

The amp says from .5 to 1 ohm and it does the power , if you look at the manual it gives u the power at 4 different ohms loads and just like a 1 ohm amp it gives you the power for 1 ohm , 2 ohm and 4 ohm shit crazy people just want to dislike something
