It's apparent that THE Israeli authority on this Benny Morris was not asked whether this is so. He lead the Israeli "new historians" to question the received truth on 1948. To do that, he studied Israeli documentation which had become declassified. It is clear, Jewish irregular forces did commit atrocities, and in the Battle of the Roads, which constituted the essence if the war of 1948-1949, Palestinian villagers contiguous to the country's highways were forced to leave. Atrocities were commited byArab irregulars, and the Arab Legion of Trans Jordan on Jewish populations as well. It was war, this conflict is not notable for such things. I guess I may attract someone's attempt at refutation, contending Israel is a colonial settler state. That's a nice formulation. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict may be summarised in one sentence: For the Israelis, 1948 still needs to be completed, and for the Palestinians, 1948 still needs to be reversed.
