Bought some oysters last year, we got a free oyster knife included. Had never tried it before. It was just okay, tasted surprisingly little; just seawater taste but not as salt, looked disgusting and had a cosistency like slightly stringy Jello (it also upset my stomach slightly). Not sure why people so enthusiastically enjoy something with so little taste. Though the oyster knife turned out to be a very useful tool for lots of other things. It's the safest tool i have for piercing stubborn things, breaking up ice cubes, opening vacuum packs etc, since it's only pointy not sharp.
