I love this video. Being from Brazil, I giggled when talking about Patife (pa-CHEE-fee) you showed a "come to Brazil" themed tee. I thought only we were aware of how we interact with our foreigner idols. Thanks for the video! You got yourself a new sub. 🍻 Cheers 🍻

Never would've guessed Patife is pronounced that way!

@TourDeForceMusic yeah, impossible for English speakers, tbh. But hey, for everything Brazil, I gotcha.

when it comes to Don Cab it's all about their singles comp 'singles breaking up' imo. Some of that shit goes back to '92 iirc, and I think there's only one song on there that goes into tappy territory. The best kind of math rock for me is shit before the tappy or midwest emo like guitar stuff became part of the formula. Heavy Vegetable's Frisbee is also just some perfect 90's non-tappy math shit. I used to love most of it but after a while the guitar tropes just became so tired to me and the early stuff started sounding so much better. My honorable mention is Breadwinner's Burner. Sick video tho man, I probably count as an old-head at this point and it's cool to see the zoomers get really into math rock, but I feel like a lot of them don't dig back the way you have, appreciate you

I agree on the tapping thing, I had some choice words about Polyphia in this video but I cut them out to not trigger anyone :D

On the lighter side of Mathrock some of my favs; Totorro, Algernon Cadwallader, Delta Sleep, Hikes. Saw Delta Sleep and Hikes in Baltimore in 2019, great show.

tbh, DGD I think is considered one based off of Swans guitar which I guess made its own genre Swancore.
@g0stkid8_36 күн бұрын
Swancore is definitely an offshoot of math rock. I’ve really been enjoying the band AnimalJam lately

To all the folks coming through here check out the band "Sleevies" if you like tera melos. The world is as wig as you want it to be after all ✨

I saw Tera melos like 5 times unintentionally at hardcore shows back in the day. They didn’t seem very popular at the time (kids went outside to smoke when they played)
