i understood doc rivers was a bad coach from his tenure with the LA Clippers. When the 76ers traded for Harden people were hyping up how the 76ers were championship bound with the duo of Embiid and Harden, yet I knew with Doc Rivers at head coach, they weren't getting anywhere near a championship. The 76ers were eliminated in the second round (by Jimmy Butler, hilarious). P.S Is Danny Ainge really the best GM? Boston didn't get anywhere in the playoffs beside 2008 and Brad Stevens and Ime Udoka took them farther than he ever did, the 2008 championship was all credit to the Big Three. What about Utah and the fallout of Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert?

Then flipping KG, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry to fleece Brooklyn for like 4 years worth of draft picks. Making the trades to get the picks that became Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. I would say he was the number 1 GM for a minute. Look at how even in "rebuild mode" he kept them competitive. With I.T. and that overpreforming job they did. He flipped I.T. for Kyrie and got Gordon Hayward. He can't do anything about Gordon's injury and had Scary Terry not been such a bitch in the locker room then Kyrie probably stays because he was nice that year. I'm not even a Celtics fan but Danny did his thing. If u don't want to say number 1 then he was definitely top 3 during his tenure.

In regards to the Bucks picking Jabari Parker over Joel Embiid, It's hard to tell what a player's career in the NBA would look like straight out of the draft. Like now everyone says the 76ers should have picked Tatum over Fultz, but back then they would have clowned on the 76ers if they did take Tatum because Fultz was regarded as one of the best prospects in the class. This is why I am not a fan of redrafts because everyone says people passed up on Curry, all these stars, when they may have called them busts when they struggled early on, but now that they are superstars people are making fun of the franchises that passed on them when before they were clowning on the franchises that did pick them. If the 76ers did let go of Embiid and he never got a chance to prove himself, everyone would say Parker was a bust but Embiid was a bigger bust

Different point but a lot of what you highlighted came down to injuries. They suck and luck for sure is involved, however, just as any very large tall player, you will get a much higher frequency of injuries based on sizes. He was always going to be injury prone at that size, just a question of how much. Zion was even more likely to and will be more likely to longer term for another example. It is why long run you need two good bigs to share those minutes to sustainable keep those stars no matter how well they play in those season games so come playoffs they have better load management.

Last year wasn’t his only real shot of winning, he still had 2 chances with the rockets, he still had his final year with the clippers. Saying Booker never stepped up when CP3 was non existent aside from the first 2 games against the Mavericks is disingenuous, they both played like shit in game 7 but CP3 was shit from games 3 and onwards. If he even played remotely decent they would’ve been in the conference finals again. Bill Walton didn't waste his career. He was the best player in the NBA, MVP & Champion for Portland, then won multiple more Rings & 6th MOTY for the Celtics. What isn’t mentioned enough here was Ben Simmons play in the first Boston playoff series. He was so bad he got benched for TJ McConnell in the playoffs. He had games with like 0 points and was no threat to shoot. Then in that 2nd Boston playoff series he didn’t even play cause of injury and that team was so bad lol. Then in the Hawks series it was basically a repeat of the 1st Boston series. Him and Tobias were so unbelievably bad and it was just Joel having to play SG and create shots on a torn meniscus which is why he was like 0-12 at the end lol.

Besides injuries , Joel Embid does not have a championship skill set, I often refer to him as "Tall Carmelo Anthony" he has mastered every way to score the ball, the 3pointer, endless post moves, mid-range finishes at the rim, fadeaways, the WHOLE Iso package, but he is just that, he is a iso scorer who has no impact on the game outside of putting the balk through the hoop, he's not such a dominant force down low that the entire defense collapses on him opening up shooters, at least not consistently, at 7'1 , 290 he bails out defenses with all those fadeaways, I know he gets some blocked shots, but he isn't quite locking down the paint, sure he gets some weak side blocks on guards when they penetrate and get to the rim, but Joel Embid is far from a enforcer down low, Joel Embid can be posted up and scored on, and he struggles to recover defensively after a few rotations, or he rather just doesn't put forth the effort to recover after a few rotations....Embid is not the face/leader who is going to win you championships he just isn't , It was a shame they didn't hold on to Jimmy but paid Tobias all that money.....Embid like James Harden have playstyles that arent great for the playoffs, iso scorers and rely on ticky tac fouls and their ability to hit difficult shots in isolation, real championship teams know how to get easy shots, you dont fadeaway step back 3Pointer your way into championships...in the playoffs where teams key in and plan for weeks how to stop you and avoid some of those fouls, he finds himself extremely limited, time and time again...The same as the 7 seconds or less Suns, they were running through the league in the regular season but that Mike D'antoni offense could be nullified in the playoffs when it really mattered, teams didn't want to chase steve nash around 10 screens in every possession or chase all the suns shooters around in the regular season on a road trip, or chase their shooters around for 48 minutes, but when it mattered most they were nullified, and a team full of 1 way plyers could not respond to teams taking their offense away...Just like harden in his golden years, no team can win a championship with one player taking 30 bad shots a game and shooting 10+ free throws a game...that's why you see how ineffective Embid is in USA basketball...if he's not on a team who is willing to watch him Iso every other possession, his impact is almost completely non existent...May be time for him to seek a trade to be led, Embid would be a great 2nd option, I don't know if a big can win with our a superstar quality guard...ala Shaq and Kobe , Tim and Tony , Gianni's and Jru/Middleton etc. ...

At some point, questions need to be asked of Joel as well! So far, he has not proven reliable enough to lead a team to a championship. His talent isn't in question and it never will be, but sooner rather than later we have to think about whether he really can sustain a full season and win a chip. Unfortunately that seems really unlikely.
