If it helps you decide to dig a little deeper and get educated, I actually started Keto on the advice of my GI Dr. I had to have my gallbladder removed and during my ultrasound (which led to the removal) they discovered I also had fatty liver. Thankfully it was very minimal and at a reversible point. So my Dr suggested I first cut out all “white carbs”. And then we took it even further with Keto. I’ve since lost 50ish lbs and my Dr is extremely pleased how everything is looking at this point. Definitely sit down with your Dr and have a discussion. Do lots of research! Before I started this journey I was under the impression that FAT caused fatty liver. Now I am more informed and know that is is actually carbohydrates (as well as obesity) that end up causing the fatty liver.

She went through the treatment again, but felt better and more empowered as Dr. Smith described his patients, and is thriving today 3 years later. There’s an equivocation problem here. ‘The Ketogenic Diet’ as it is prescribed for epilepsy is often very low in protein and up to 80% dietary fat. The keto diet for weight loss is much less extreme. Some doctors (such as Ted Naiman) even recommend high protein regimens of at least one gram of protein per pound of ideal weight.
@coffeemachtspass4 жыл бұрын
David Chaplin For myself, I view it in essentially the same way you have described. The issue I tried to clarify is that there is a therapeutic ketogenic diet for epilepsy that is extremely rigorous, and it isn’t the one that the doctor was describing. He also said that he undertook his dietary change to gain insight into his patients’ experiences and obstacles. I commend him for it, but the one that you and I are on is not as difficult as that used for those special cases. By the way, I’m a carnivore (coming from keto after a year) and feel even better than before.

I almost gave up living life. I demolished four cars just thru poor concentration. I've been on keto for one month. already amazing results, skin,hair,and energy . I wake up clear headed, improved memory, cognitive function. after ten years of taking all sorts of depression meds, even dementia medication. . . I am reducing all mediation as I feel like I don't need it. I was down a rabbit hole with sleep meds because of poor sleep. now I sleep sound, wake up fresh and fast. these good fats feed your brain. I also started taking omega 3 fish oil caps. feel amazing, not sure of how much weight I've lost? but my son noticed my weight loss in the first two weeks. down a size or two in clothes, bloated stomach fat has decreased fast. most of all I love the REAL food. it's tasty, made me enjoy cooking again. and my usual old diet of peanut butter on toast is a thing of the past. I love shopping too. it's quicker and easier with a basic list. love love love keto.

20% less oxygen to accomplish the same work. That's big. Being a vegetarian has kept me from going all in on Keto, but, I'm becoming more inclined lately.

Hi Steve, thanks for watching. Yes, I was also very surprised by that number. Just goes to show how deeply it can benefit us. Being on keto as a vegetarian can be more challenging but it's totally doable, especially if you're including eggs and high quality dairy, but if not there are plenty of plant-based fats. Keeping the carbs low and the good fats high is the main goal. Possible future video! :) Good luck with your keto journey!

I love this video! I have partial seizures from a brain injury, doctors just don't seem to understand those kinds of seizures, medication makes me worse. I have been doing this diet for three years, and I have just gotten stricter by adding intermittent fasting into it and keeping under 10 net carbs a day. I had no idea that it can help me with my seizures! My diabetes is completely under control. I have to chart so that I can keep strict. I know most people don't do that, but, I will do it for me. I love this diet. I am doing great with my heart, which has also improved. My cholesterol is dropping. I have a damaged heart valve from Rheumatic Fever as a child and my heart specialist can barely even see it now since doing this diet. I mean it is amazing all the things that are improving in my life. I am praying that my neurological functioning improves as well now that I am stricter. I don't ever feel hungry. As a matter of fact I feel so full all the time that I have to make myself eat in order to get enough calories for the day. Yes, I count calories. I know they say you don't have to, but, I do it for myself. Anyway, I am so glad that I came across this video. My daughter in law has the pseudo tumor cerebrai, but, she is not open to this diet. I wish I could get her to try it. I'm going to share this video with my son. But, she is a nurse and she is stubborn. I pray something will happen to make her open her mind to this. She is allergic to almonds and I bake with almond flour. But, I have made a folder of recipes that do not include almond flour, but, rather use coconut flour. As soon as they decide they want to do this I will give them that folder. Again, thank you for this video.

Very interesting. Makes you think why doctors are not aware of all the anti-inflammatory acts and diets we can do to beat diseases. Fasting, ketogenic diets, Cannabis oils and even short-term raw vegan diets can cure a lot of different ailments. We all know why medical doctors are not educated to know these things. I mean it's not like these remedies are new! They're at least 100 to 10.000s years of old.

Does this work for other types of tumors? I have intramuscular cavernous hemangiomas. I've lost entire muscles due to the localized invasive nature of the tumors. Currently I have five. Three have been treated with a new (to me) treatment and all seemed well for awhile. Now, 18 months later, I am seeing an increase in pain. Again. I was wondering if keto would help? I don't know who to ask though since none of my oncologists know much about my specific kind of tumors or what causes them to grow.

Dr. Smith, my son needs his hypothalamic hamartoma removed urgently! I'm still trying to get the insurance figured out. His condition is destroying his life. I've done my best to keep him on a ketogenic diet, but the moment he has sugar or carbs, his seizures kick in and he goes into an awful phase for 4 days straight. The keto diet does seem to help some but he still has gelastic seizures multiple times throughout the day. He has zero focus, OCD, odd, ADHD, and a vast variation of other symptoms including Asperger's like symptoms. His seizures and OCD are eating up every single day of his life. I can't hardly work because he's 22 and needs constant supervision as his cognition level has dropped so low over the years. Can someone PLEASE help me figure out how to get his mini open craniotomy to remove his tumor so that he can have a chance at life? 🙏😭

It is true , keto diet it is normal way of eating. We have to come back to the roots and eat un processed food. Eat raw meat unprocessed, eat raw white basic fresh chees ,eat vegetabales unprocessed, ear rice, green peas, beans, eat seeds.Do not eat potatoe , milk because of lactozis, bread, processed meat, sugar containing food, do not eat too much sweet fruits, do not eat products containing flour. Sweet fruits are something new for the humans, in the past there were no sweet fruits. Of course we have different bodyes and react different. Almost all the diseases are metabolic disease which appear due to the influenced metabolic process. Metabolic process it is influenced by bad food ( to much carbs) and to much brain activity (we have to think less :) which actualy means avoid stress. You have to have them both together. For relaxing brain and increasing metaboliism run every day at least 30 minutes, but arround 10 minutes have to be intens running. Increased muscle activity will consume you bad carbs. If you made mistakes and took to much carbohidrates drink 2 liters of water over the night, go to toilet and in the morning you will feel better. Do these 1 week and most of the people will feel the diference, a few will do not feel anything. Succes !

transitioning into the keto diet you mean? You lose a lot of water in the beginning which depletes minerals so what you can do is make something called ketoade which is basically a 1/4 of a teaspoon of good quality salt like Himalayan or sea salt mixed with 16 oz of water. Basically you just need to incorporate some good salt to combat dehydration. Also just drink a lot of water, you drink more water when you're doing keto and that's just going to be a fact.

Beans , sweet potato, beets, carrots , wild rice, einkorn flour, squash, apples , banana, kiwi and the list goes on are all good carbs. I was on keto and it helped me lose weight fast now I’m just eating healthy and still maintaining healthy weight. I quit keto because it was a diet, Diet to me means temporary. My new eating habits will be sustainable and life long.
