i’m so glad you decided to make more kh analysis videos (the first vid from like a year ago almost brought me to tears and this one got to me too) these two games have always meant so much to me and ive never seen someone put into words almost exactly how i feel about them as you have. these games present themselves so genuinely and it’s obvious through the tone of this video you see them genuinely for what they are. keep up the great work man

Sincerity I think is indeed the perfect word to describe the appeal of the crossovers in KH2, and like ylusaid I especially love how the combat is "everyone's an anime character now!" Really rare to see done so well

I think you’ve captured the perfect words to describe why I love KH2. I still love the series as it is now but people still look at me funny when I say KH2 is peak Kingdom Hearts with its fun combat and story. It makes it really easy to lose yourself and forget the flaws while playing. I really can’t wait to see the 1 hour video you’re working on.

@@KirbySonicTeam well it’s a lot of what you said in comparison to the first game. Sometimes the characters barely interact with the exception of when they meet or when they leave. But now that the animations are better, we have more expressive and playful characters. Retuning characters are building off their previous relationships in the past game, and new ones are quickly establishing their dynamics with the others. The final fantasy characters really feel apart of their respective worlds too. I can totally buy Seifer being a school yard bully but secretly a proud citizen of the town he lives. That of course would make Vivi think he’s super cool and wanna hang out with him. Plus the crew in Hollow Bastion are desperately fighting tooth and nail because they’ve finally returned home and by god they are not gonna lose it again after everything. They feel so much apart of the world and universe it’s no wonder people felt their absence in KH3. The one thing I think they may have sacrificed is the atmosphere of the first game’s worlds. With the exception of a couple KH2 worlds feel pretty void of the charm of the previous game. Less platforming and puzzles and just a few neat locations and big rooms to fight in.

People who want to defend 3 will often throw 2 under the bus. “It has a lot of the same problems why does 2 get a pass?” “Back when 2 first came out nobody liked it, just like how people are with 3. Once a few years have passed you’ll all be singing it’s praises.” “2 only has its good reputation now because of Final Mix”

Lol thanks a ton! So you can actually purchase every KH game for about 35 to 40 bucks on Amazon with the Kingdom Hearts All in One edition. That’s 6 fully fleshed rpgs, along with 3 movies that recap some of the smaller entries. It’s well worth the price even if I don’t love every game. Playing order is always release order. The story of kingdom hearts is not very cohesive and they made it up as they went. So if you play the games in chronological order you’ll just be lost. So you play KH1, chain of memories, kh2, 358 days, birth by sleep, coded, dream drop distance, 0.2, back cover, then KH3 I recommend playing kh1, then watch cutscenes online for chain of memories if that games unique battle battle system doesn’t click with you. Then kh2 finishes the story perfectly that those two games set up. Everything else afterwards is hit or miss for me, but you may love them! Even though I really dislike the story after kh2, the games are pretty much always fun gameplay wise. So at least give them all a shot. Thanks so much for watching and have a great one!
