What's funny is that Reggie thought it was just a young buck wanting to play a simple game of 1v1, and probably thought nothing of it. Kobe was looking for weaknesses offensively, and defensively for the future. That's how Kobe thought about the game, 10 steps ahead, and not looking backward. Stay in the moment, and prepare for the future. When something goes wrong, take notes from it, and move on to the next play. That's what is often lost when people speak about the Mamba Mentality. It's not all about the alpha midset, and being tough. It's about thinking logically, tactically, and working toward your goals in the most efficient way possible, and keeping your cards close to your chest so you have a leg up against your competition. Don't let the competition know your intentions. That's some Godfather type stuff. Kobe was a smart sob.

He averaged 15 because in Game 2 he got hurt in the 1st quarter and only had 2pts at the time so it goes down as a 2pt game even though he barely played, which in turn dramatically affected his series average since he didn't play game 3 and played the rest of the series on a bad ankle and still was able to take over Game 4 as a 21 year old on the road even though Shaq fouled out!
