Clean colorless big natural diamonds are very rare and thats why they are special, and have value. Lab rocks are literally a dime a dozen. Truth. Thats why jewelers will buy back a natural diamond but dont buy back lab rocks.

I just got a gorgeous 3 carat brilliant cut (round) lab grown diamond, excellent specs. The jeweler had on a magnificent 5.5 ct round lab grown in platinum. For me, 3 carats was my limit in size. Those who know us, would know I could never afford a perfect 5 carat stone. Three is still believable. I do not want people to think it’s a big cheap CZ. Two or three carats is spectacular.

Honestly, knowing about the existence of lab grown diamonds makes me more comfortable with the idea of wearing diamonds. I've never really wanted diamond jewelry because I'm terrified of the thought of the setting breaking and the diamond getting lost.

I have several natural grown diamonds and recently purchased large carat sized diamond studs - However, I did not investigate lab diamonds that much until after that purchase and had I done that I would have gone lab grown all the way. I was already in the purchase with a trade up pair and just couldn’t see how to get out of it without going into the “proverbial “ hole so I went natural. I would love to trade my natural set in for an even larger lab grown set but I don’t think I’m going to break even on the trade. Love your channel and will continue watching the trend.

A lab diamond is forever. 🤗 Over 10 years ago I spent so much on a 1 ct natural diamond it took over 3 years to pay it off. Then last year I got a 2.64 ct lab for 1/3rd the price of the 1 ct. Then more recently I got a 7.64 ct lab and it's insane in terms of quality and price. From a sheer standpoint of collecting, it's now possible to have real diamonds of such size and quality in hand. Natural diamonds of a certain quality will always have their place as being "rare", but lab diamonds are I think a representation of a new kind of freedom to express love, as that is what their beauty is all about, not where they come from. Both are real diamonds.

I have a sizable 8.05 ct emerald cut vvs2 ex cut/ symmetry and polish diamond my husband gave me to commemorate our 10 yr anniversary. We were looking at sizable stones at a jewelry store, was shown a natural vs2 g/h color vg cut/ symmetry and they wanted 100000 for a 3.02 ct. He was willing to sell it to us for ,80000 if we were buying that day. I realized the markup on these stones. We started looking at lab diamonds. Ours was purchased out of a jewelry store in NYC diamond district. We commissioned a bespoke setting. I have zero regrets. It is a gorgeous ring and I will enjoy it for years to come, knowing that no one died in a mine, funded a war or destroyed a piece of the earth gives me peace of mind.

I went with a smaller natural diamond with intentions of upgrading for a 10 year anniversary! I think the billions of years to form a diamond in the earth is much more romantic than lab in my personal opinion . nothing weong with lab and i even strongly considered it. But long term, i think ill be happy with the smaller natural round diamond ring in yellow gold with a halo, over a huge oval or radiant solitaire in white gold or platinum like I see tons of online these days.

I’d recommend getting something lab grown, and using the money you save to go on a romantic trip somewhere amazing. That’s what I told my parents when they got back together after being divorced and it’s the first time they’ve ever been happy they listened to me. I have a pair of lab grown 2ctw vvs2 F colored studs. And I promise you the $17,000 I saved by going lab over natural is far more romantic than the idea of “it was in the ground”. They are both real diamonds, it’s crystallized carbon, and it takes a $40,000 tester to be able to distinguish them (it does it based on the trace element impurities, since different elements will contaminate it in the earth than in a lab)

I love diamonds literally my whole life. I was dreaming about them all the time. Love jewelry. Couldn’t afford it while studying etc. Now I have few small natural stones (2 tiny bands, 2 smal rings)but I was always dreaming about big stones, tennis bracelet and large eternity band. Since I found out about lab grown diamonds I bought myself almost 5c tennis bracelet in 18k white gold, 2 necklaces (diamond cross and single 0,5 c, had 1 carat one but it seems to big for me so I made dangling earrings out of it), I bought 4,55c eternity band and I love love the sparkle. I’m planing on 3 carat oval in a halo ring for my 50th birthday (I’m 47 now). All the above possible because I’m living in China where the lab grown diamonds are made and my friend is a goldsmith. So I’m the luckiest person on earth having a chance buying it for a really low price but top quality. I was born in April, diamond is my gemstone, haha! I would alway admire the natural gems, simply can’t afford it.

I think variety is the beauty in life, and that everyone choosing what they want individually is wonderful. Therefore, I wouldn't judge anyone else for their preferences. Personally, I have both a diamond ring in platinum and a couple of larger stoned moissanite rings in silver that are my main rings. The moissanites were an upgrade in stone size for our 10 year anniversary, but within an affordable price range. I know moissanite isn't the same as lab grown diamond, but having both real and lab stones I can say that they definitely both have their benefits! To me.. The diamond will always be and feel my most sentimental and precious ring.. But I LOVE wearing my moissanites every day because I love that look of the big sparkly stone! So I wear those daily, but if I could ONLY keep one it would be the diamond 💎 However, that is based on sentiment for me rather than looks because it was my first and original one.. And I can't deny that it does somehow just have that feeling of being more special and unique with it being natural.. Each diamond feels more 'one of a kind' to me with it's natural history and inclusions.. I can't quite get that same thing for a 'perfect' lab stone. Another point slightly off topic.. But as we're sharing opinions!: I really prefer myself the round brilliant cut for a stone (I like square cushion as well), and a single solitaire with not too much else going on to detract from the stone itself, which should be the 'main event'!. I'm not a fan of the recent trend of the hidden halo cluster stones as it's too fussy looking / Too much going on for me. Or too much going on with the band really either. There's also a lot of huge oval and rectangular cuts right now.. Again each to their own if it's what you love.. But, make sure you are going for what *you* love rather than because it's a trend.. Because trends will change. As long as you love it that's what's important! I just like the simple classic look because I know I'll never get bored of it 💎❤

I inherited all my mom’s estate jewelry. They are all natural diamonds. I love them and treasure them but might like to combine some of them in a new creation. I’m just not sure because I love the fine filigree work on some of them. I definitely would prefer a natural engagement ring but am fine with lab diamonds for anything else.

I am of two minds about lab v. Earth mined diamonds. For my upgraded engagement ring diamond, I did go with a mined diamond and spent a boat load of cash for a 1.52 centre stone - for the same money, I could have bought a 10 or 12 carat lab diamond but…I thought about the real life ‘believability’ of me wearing that size of lab diamond on an every day basis as I drive around in my 15 year old Subaru while wearing jeans I thrifted. For me, it didn’t fit. On the other hand, I have recently bought lab diamond stud earrings, 2 carat total weight for everyday wear. Again, I went with 1 carat on each ear because my thinking was if I get 2/3/4/5 carat each ear, and again, get in my 15 yo Subaru in my thrifted jeans, who’s going to believe that I’m wearing ‘real’ diamonds? Anyway, that’s how I feel about it. Not saying you shouldn’t buy a 5 or 6 carat lab diamond as your engagement ring diamond but when it is a fact that such a diamond (mined) is an 80-100k price tag, how does a 25 or 30 yo bride-to-be pull that off when you just got out of college? For me, it doesn’t fit. To each her own. :)

I have this idea having a custom ring would be too expensive. But I have no idea if that is true or not. I do believe in craftsmanship, even with a solitaire but truly intimidated and not in your area.
@VanessaNicoleJewels
@VanessaNicoleJewels 10 ай бұрын
Thank you for voicing your concerns. Custom rings vary in price depending on the design and materials used. Generally, our custom settings are around $5,500 + center diamond. We provide a discount on the setting when we're also providing the center stone. The exact quote depends on a variety of features such as what diamond color we need to match, diamonds extending 1/2way or 3/4 down the band, etc. The majority of our clients are out of town. 80% of our clients are not local to San Diego. Our process is seamless, and we've never had any issues working with clients nationally and even internationally. In fact, many of my clients have said their VN experience feels more personalized than their local jeweler. I hope this provides clarity. And thank you again for sharing your thoughts - other people here likely share your concerns, and maybe our conversation here will help them, too :)

I prefer lab grown for both the environmental aspect and ethical aspects. With lab grown you don’t have to worry that your purchase helped finance a war, and you don’t need to worry that it helped destroy the environment with huge open pit mines. The fact that I’m not financing the De Beers cartel is just another plus.

I've always wanted "earth grown" diamonds. But lately, I've noticed I'm getting cut out of the market for "earth grown ". They are pricing the "regular folks" like myself out of the market. Unaffordable. I'd have to sell my home to buy just a 4 ct diamond! I haven't made the leap to lab grown because it reminds me of fake or CZ. I know that's not true. My mind will have to catch up to my pocket book eventually.

I personally love lab growns and buy them for myself (a few pairs of studs and a tennis bracelet. And possibly a tennis chain in the near future). But if I ever proposed I’d go natural if it mattered to her, but explain that the quality hit will be massive if she does really want a natural. Unless she wants something absurd like a natural 4 carat vs1. In that case she’s getting a lab and being told it’s a natural because I doubt she’s buying a $40k tester to find out if I lied

It's great to hear that you love lab-growns! They offer a fantastic combination of quality and value, and it's thoughtful of you to consider your partner's preferences when proposing. My personal recommendation is to never start a marriage with a lie, so share the pros & cons of both with her and let her make a confident decision about which one to go with. Thank you for watching! @@VanessaNicoleJewels It's simple. If a woman is "Nesting" minded, that is, she is thinking about a future family with this man, then his resources would be better used for the "family" needs. If she wants it all for herself, as an austentacious show to others, that is absolute narcissism. He should run screaming into the night from a woman like this.

There is nothing "unnatural" about a diamond grown in a lab. Mined, or Earth Grown, are the correct terms for a diamond formed in the earth and mined, not "natural".
@VanessaNicoleJewels
@VanessaNicoleJewels 3 ай бұрын
I hear you - thank you for clarification of proper terms. Many clients refer to them as "natural". But yes, the proper terms are mined or earth-grown. Often clients don't like the connotations of the previously unethical mining practices, and earth-grown doesn't quite flow off the tongue as easily as "natural." :)
