Odd as they usually do more drops right before (like here’s some more drops and then the part that makes bubbles happens. So even if the drops from ~5 minutes before wore off they have more. Yes! Got LASIK and it was one of the most worthwhile purchases I ever made! It is not painful - just uncomfortable. The MOST uncomfortable part about it is not being able to blink. If you try to hold your eyes open for 5 minutes without blinking, that’s what LASIK feels like. That’s the extent of the discomfort. Afterwards, your eyes just feel kind of gunky for the first 2-3 days similar to the feeling of having pink eye and you can’t rub them for the first week (I believe it was only a week?), but that’s it! My cousin went and had it done after she heard me rave about my results and she loves it as well. We are both quite nerdy girls who love reading but had horrible vision pre-LASIK and got tired of the constant expenses of buying new glasses/contacts/eye exams/etc. A huge money-saver long term and a time saver as well!

For those wondering what does this actually do... It's for people with bad eye sight, they just cut the invisible part of the eye and fix the bad parts of the eye with Lazer then put the invisible part back , u just have to take care of your eye for like a month without touching it , most doctors just give the patient an eye patch to help with the process of healing. Edit: it's not painful at all , it's just weird , but seeing this process happening to someone hurts your eye

I do it all the time, when the sun is in one eye, when I put contacts in, when I lose one contact,... You start by focusing on your nose, each eye can see a side of it, then try to switch and focus on the side, look straight ahead but focus on something way left/right, something the other eye can't see. I started doing it with one eye as one was lazy, but now I can switch dominant eyes. Very useful.

It takes about 10-15 mins total! I would recommend not doing a KZbin deep dive (lol) or you’ll freak yourself out! Before you can even have the procedure they do a total eye exam to make sure you’re a good candidate. You can definitely have “touch-ups” if your eyesight needs to be tweaked. I think I had 2 yrs where I could go back for free but didn’t need to. For some it will last forever, for others you may need readers as you age. It can be redone and if need be you can wear contacts again. These were all concerns I had. It’s been about 7 yrs and my vision is still perfect. Omg Dr. Youn don’t scare the people 😂 They didn’t have me watch what they were doing to my eye, don’t be scared of this you guys!!! Your eye is numb and you don’t actually know what they are doing to your eye, like you can’t even tell if they’ve started doing anything, so it’s easier not to panic! And then it’s over before you know it. I am a very anxious person, I don’t even drive, so when I decided to get lasik I was very scared…but it wasn’t scary at all, the only anxious part for me was a part where I was suppose look straight at a green dot light for like 10 seconds, and I was scared I was going to panic and look away and just ruin everything, but it was easy to get through. There is a smell of like burning hair that I can see being very unnerving for everyone, but for me it took me to the many memories of me burning my hair with hair tools 😂They gave me anti-anxiety meds (probs a sedative too, I took like 3 pills) and once they numbed my eye, it was super smooth from there in my opinion, the whole procedure including both eyes took less than 10 minutes, after I felt that worrying was a waste of time. It changed my quality of life, and I think everyone with vision issues who can should save and invest in correcting their vision for their quality of life.

@@whatisilyionlyknowipurpleyou hey! So they have something holding your eyelids back, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally blinking, you can blink if you need to but your eyelid just won’t go down. This is exactly how I felt! Best decision I ever made after 21 years in contacts then glasses because I couldn’t wear contacts any longer. Would never want to go through Lasik again though. The surgery as Dr. Youn described is unnerving even though it didn’t last long. I took a pain med but they wouldn’t let me take until right before the surgery because I had to have a clear head to sign paperwork. So the pill didn’t help ease anxiety for surgery. It kicked in to sort of help me relax after. Okay, the pill was really useless because they only gave me one pill. For hours after the surgery I wanted to claw my eye balls out because it felt like sand was in my eyes from the lenses being cut and the laser burning them. The after care is intense the first week. Three different kinds of eye drops on rotation. If you miss then you risk eye infection or eyes not properly healing. This surgery is a big financial and time investment on aftercare but was 100% worth it. I’ve had 20/20 vision going on six years.

PRK is better. It shaves down that layer and the eye rebuilds it. But with Lasik, they cut open a flap and reshape it underneath, and that flap never closes and always has a chance to open back up. For example, there was one case where someone was struck on the head by an object and their vision got blurry bc it reopened the flap, and this was many years after their surgery. I think it was the army that would only allow their soldiers to get PRK too for this reason. Or better yet, if doable, try to exercise your eyes first to improve your vision before considering surgery, which should always be the last option. Just look up "how to cure myopia naturally", or just watch some eye anatomy videos to get an idea of how your eyes work and what could go wrong, this way you will find a logical solution.

I think the worst part was the small change in smell when the laser went off. But the procedure is so quick and they give anti anxiety meds now before even numbing your eye. You don’t feel a thing until recovery later that day and it was pretty instantaneous. I could see things I couldn’t before. Best investment for myself!

My dads an eye professor and he said we put a little metal thing the one he put in the video and even if they want to blink it is not possible because the metal thing is putting pressure on it and there is numbing drops in the eye so

You essentially have a clamp thing in which keeps your eye open, so it isn't possible.

Just did it yesterday, didn't hurt, honestly with their machines it felt very sci-fi. Didn't feel a thing, except a very small amount of pressure for the cut. I would totally do it again if I had to. Lol

Ill take that over an apicoectomy anyday. That lasted 2 hours and feeling them saw through your jaw and scrape out infection and tissue is uncomfortable. It literally saved my life since i almost had sepsis so ill say thats the best thing i did for myself.
