As leaked in Clinton email, France's reasons to start bombing Libya are: a. A desire to gain a greater share of Libya oil production, b. Increase French influence in North Africa, c. Improve his internal political situation in France, d. Provide the French military with an opportunity to reassert its position in the world, e. Address the concern of his advisors over Qaddafi's long term plans to supplant France as the dominant power in Francophone Africa. Especially point e shows French imperialism really clearly.

Before you listen to a one-sided narration that only vilifiies Kadhafi, look at the context within which those uprisings happened. In addition, if Kadhafi was the so called dictator most western media claim he was , why the West had problems with him only when he was working on a project to render Africa economically free? So if indeed you have a little bit of honesty you would take that into consideration.

This is a lie lie lie. We remember. Gadaffi was on the verge of uniting Africa. He was creating a common currency for the African union, the gold based dinar. Libya had no world bank & no international debt. & gadaffi had just completed a major aqueduct, turning the desert into lush farmland. Their oil was nationalized. All 1 needs to do is look at the 1st head of state installed by a self appointed council. He was a US citizen. His successor was also a US citizen.

This is what happens when the US invades your country! Before the war, Libya was as rich as Western countries with GDP per capita (PPP) at $30,000. Oil revenue paid for social services for the people, who had free education, free healthcare. Now, Libya is destroyed! Its GDP per capita has fallen 75% and there is no end in sight to their civil war. If you are a developing country and you don't want to be invaded by the world's foremost aggressor, BUILD NUCLEAR WEAPONS AND ICBMs like North Korea. Nuclear deterrence is the only language US imperialists understand. Those cowards don't dare touch North Korea with a 10m barge pole, but they destroyed Vietnam, Afghanistan, Serbia, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, etc.

The US didn't "destroy" Vietnam, Afghanistan, Serbia, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen. The US was helping Vietnam and Afghanistan fight communism and later helping Afghanistan fight terrorism. US involvement has been a net gain in those two, even though it didn't matter much in the long term. As for Serbia, they were doing genocide in Kosovo. Good thing they were stopped. As for Iraq, Hussein was a threat to the Middle East. Toppling him was once again, a positive. A similar thing can be said about Assad today. He is a menace and should be toppled.

September 11th 2012: Benghazi was the second 9/11. There were far more casualties in the first 9/11 but the storming/torching of a US diplomatic compound and resulting smoke inhalation death of the US ambassador was symbolically greater. And what was most galling for the US was that the attack was carried out by a street militia; one amongst the myriad anarchic groups unleashed by Western destruction of Libya. What goes around, comes around.

Libya was a richest country in Africa, so who "the provocateur" that giving them a promise that would be a great if ghadafi die, as they said ghadafi was using cultural and religion issue to unifying every factions in Libya.

This video is misleading because it omits the fact that various countries including France and UK lauched missiles and fighters to overthrow this dictator without any plan to bring also some stability to this region. Today’s Libyan caos is these countries fault. Like what happened in Iraq.

This wouldn't of happened if NATO haven't intervened. Sometimes we need to understand that there are dictatorships and democracies in the world. We can't just pressure others to adopt our way of life. That is racist. We also need to understand that it is best living under a stable dictatorship then living under a civil war.

I'm so glad someone is making videos like this; more people should know what is going on in the world! But, quick criticism: One should not downplay the role of the USA and EU in this. The "west" assisted by launching airstrikes and air-supiriority missions over Libya, against Ghadafi. I'm curious how influential that was, and if it gives the "west" any measure of responsibility there? Then again, Ghadafi had been so bold as to try and sell RPGs to Chicago gangs... but that's unrelated, for some reason. One could connect the two, and say that the "west" is only responsible for stopping a criminal... I suppose?
@salokin3087
@salokin3087 4 жыл бұрын
Probably not, the fighting had been raging for months, either the war would of dragged on and more people died or the ended quickly via the no fly zone. Nothing really changes except death toll, the intervention reduced that in the short term but there was no peacekeeping force afterwards
@Zackaryyrakcaz
@Zackaryyrakcaz 4 жыл бұрын
@@salokin3087 Sounds about right, from what little I know. If it where more influential, would that give the "west" more responsibility? I guess that kind of idea comes off as some sort of political illusion though... the "stated goal" of the airstrike would be all the responsibility politicians would be willing to take (maybe not even that). I just wish there were a better option... I largely suspect that Turkey has some pseudo-Imperial ambitions. Ironically, looking at his actions in the Mediterranean, I suspect that he wants to ensure his oil reserves BEFORE conducting his wider military plans. Getting the oil might be the prerequisite to further war, and not just the goal. I know Turkey has access to oil now, but maybe they want to ensure against a trade-embargo? I don't know most of the facts, btw... just spit-balling.

@salokin3087 4 жыл бұрын
@@Zackaryyrakcaz Do yourself a favor and read Peter Zeihan's book "Disunited Nations" to better grasp Turkey's ambitions, point is, the regret western states had in the intervention was the lack of peacekeeping forces ala Kosovo
@Zackaryyrakcaz
@Zackaryyrakcaz 4 жыл бұрын
@@salokin3087 Thanks for the book recommendation! But why IS that the point? That point seems to assume that: A) That action would have successfully established a stable future regime, and not turned into a decades-long quagmire. B) That any countries would have gotten involved in the 1st place, if the plan included peacekeeping forces (This would have made everyone reluctant to even broach the subject of involvement). C) That I, personally, disagree with sending in peacekeeping forces. It would probably have been ideal, given all other information. I just don't see the relevance to what I said....

This was initiated by France. Kadaffi was collaborating with the Allies with the war on Terrorism . Paid restitution for the Lochabre bombing , gave up his weapons of mass destruction. They decided to drag some upset street vendor before their parliament to cry about his treatment. France, which likes to brag about their military prowess asked the US to military airforce to take out kadaffi 1970 soviet shoulder fired air defenses . Then France blantently violated the U.N. resolution and shipped arms to Libya. CIA had nothing to do with this , this was strictly French Parliament in collaboration with the U.S. state department .

All of this has been well documented and widely known for years, even as the EU and Italy have stepped up their support for the Libyan Coast Guard. Yet despite their key role in empowering the Coast Guard to return people to Libya, international human rights lawyers have struggled to hold the EU and Italy to account. Boxed in by the limitations of international law, lawyers have had to find increasingly innovative legal strategies to try to establish European complicity in the abuses taking place.
