How Lich's Chain Frost Actually Works

As a Grandmaster Lich I noticed you missed a few points about the ultimate. Chain frost can bounced and do damage to untargetable units like Dark willow in shadow realm, but cannot bounce of Ringmaster's W. Every next bounce make additional damage. You can cast Chain frost to the Spire instaed of hero with lotus orb,AM-> E spell or hero with mirror shield( to avoid spell reflection). If you cast chain frost to the spire next to 2 heroes only 9 out of 10 bounces will bounce to te heroes and you will do less damage.

I'm not sure if a hard or basic dispel is required but if you are Abadon and you are being orbited by chain frost, casting shield on yourself will remove the orb.

There's one more funny trick: Have Refresher Orb, Shard and lvl 25 infinite bounce talent + Frostbound facet (makes Chain Frost linger for a few seconds). Then, put down Ice Spire Nr.1 on top of your base ramp as enemies approach. Fire Chain Frost Nr.1 at the Ice Spire, then refresher orb and immediately place an Ice Spire Nr.2 next to the first, also fire second ult at it. The bounces stack damage very fast if the spires are close enough. Then, as enemies enter your base, the charged bounces unleash. This is very risky, as it requires the enemies to commit together with the creep wave or with multiple heros, so best to have someone bait.

TBH I like the other 25 talent more. Frost shield grants 50hp regen. It can be cast on towers. Let me say that again, it can be cast on towers. If you have a sniper siegeing your base, lich 25 is really good with the frost shield talents. If you have CDR talents/items the uptime is almost permanent and the damage reduction plus heal puts in some serious work. Not as flashy as 1v9ing the game but it also doesn't bank on the enemy having terrible positioning.

Against Mars's facet Blood Sport interaction, if you cast it on an enemy beside the arena it goes through the wall, searches target and provides vision for a brief time.

Dark willow Shadow Realm counts as Invis when intracting with spells , but Lich ulty still bounce on it(this bug happen when they enable teamates casting spell on willow in her shadow!) same behavior dont exist for other bouncy spells like WD Q,(that thing dont jump on willow in shdaow for example)

Can you elaborate just a bit more about Sinister gaze? 1) Is it throw chain frost, then gaze right away? 2) Or gaze then throw chain frost?

Gaze then chain frost. Other way around it will have the ult cast. Just think like this: While gaze is active, all Lich's spells have no cast animation. Kinda like when you use any skill copied by Rubick.

It deals damage to any enemies that close to the targeted wave and with Scepter u can cast it directly on enemies

it's just a 'chain healing'. It heals an ally, then damages nearby enemies in a small aoe. It does this multiple times. The neat part is if you have several units surrounding an enemy, the damage will be huge, because it deals up to 7 (including dazzle) original damage.

Normally, it bounces between allies healing them and dealing damage to enemies next to the healed targets. WIth Aghs, you can target and bounce on enemies, just flip the heal/damage. So with aghs, if it heals the target, it damages enemies around. If it deals damage to the target, it heals allies around. And Dazzle always receives a heal from this spell, so he always deals damage around himself.

Does chain frost bounce faster at some close ditance? Noticed serveral times when enemies in less then 150-200 range to each other it bounces much faster like with a speed of light compare to default mode with slow bounce speed

Just as an aside, Chain frost can be combo-ed with Soulbind, causing it to be cast twice for quite a lot of damage and guaranteed bounces between the two targets

@@Pikachuteal WD is good at low mmr, but falls off at immortal. Lich is better at low mmr and maintains win rate at immortal. "noob" is a good characterization of this comment :)
