I'd like to let people watching know that union isn't the only community server available. Refresh and infinite are both going strong and are just as playable. The culture on each server is different enough that they're all worth checking out. Great video btw. I love watching ppl's lbp retrospectives

Really wanted to deep dive into the different communities it I was concours of the run time and wanted a more opinionated video than a deep dive
@Potatoboii27 ай бұрын
Obligatory: "I hate LBP Infinite, grr grr grr" But, if you're willing to buy a second copy of the game to patch with Refresh, I'd definitely recommend giving it a go, since it *is* more technically advanced than lighthouse, the biggest problem is that there aren't as many people playing on either of those servers. Also, lighthouse 2 is in development at the minute, which'll basically make the code more accessible and open-source, which should hopefully allow for those servers to catch up and improve upon everything else.

As someone who was very awkward and had a lot of social anxieties all throughout school, even during early primary school years, I ended up making a fantastic group of friends in LBP2, they got me more then my real friends did, and I remember rushing home from school just to get online and goof around with them. I even happened to meet my partner through LBP2, who I've been going strong with for almost 10 years now, it took roughly a year for us to meet up in person (Lived far away, we were teens and didn't have jobs/ money to visit each other), and now we share a flat together! LBP gave me so much joy and so many memories during my childhood and early teen years, such a shame it all ended up going down hill, I remember giving LBP3 a try, and I found the online play really disappointing :( Experiencing the game with other people was a big part of the fun for me, but it could never find me a lobby to join, or on the off chance that it did find another player, it would have awful connection and eventually drop out anyway.

When the picture was taken of everyone on the skateboard I actually started to cry. In that moment not only was it a huge victory, and a fantastic story in the creation of this beautiful game, but it solidified Media Molecule's place in being able to follow through with their creative vision. I think when we see that photo be taken, we can easily picture ourselves and our LBP friends in that moment, and that's what really made this game special. We were all truly a PART of the game and community.

I was 10 years old when I told my older brother that I can see myself playing this game forever, but he laughed and said "you'll grow out of it and move on." Now I'm 23 and I still love this game so much. Not only did I create the best memories in LBP, but it also helped me through the worst times of my life. Moreover, if it weren't for LBP 2 I would have never met my favourite person and best friend who is still with me to this day.

My word man, what a video. You made a 27 year old man cry at the end hearing Stephen fry and sleepyhead playing with the intro shown. That game series was my literal childhood and teen years. From 10 years old up to 18 years old. I lived for this. School, 6th form, relationships. Yet it was always there. I remember publishing a lot of levels that got 100K plus plays, I knew a lot of big creators, even ones that ruined the game. LBP was incredible. Now my 4 year old son loves Sackboys Adventure and watching me play LBP3. I just need to get a PS3, download the patch from the Union, and relive them memories as he makes his own. Thank you.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said “it’s the perfect game for kids who maybe only got one game a year” this game had so much creativity in it. Lbp 1 one amazing and had a certain feel to it that the other games didn’t but the second one was beautiful. From first person shooter games to mincraft levels that actually was all cubes to levels that instead of playing horizontally they were vertically playable with a sackbot and a camera angle that would change it into this open world game with more that 3 layers this game was a masterpiece I will stand by that until I die the creativity in it I think made for such a good game letting the community focus on building levels was the best option imo not that the story levels were bad they weren’t at all but I think allowing the community to put THEIR time and effort into levels took a lot of weight off of the creators cause they spend all their time actually making a playable game and maybe they didn’t have the energy to go above and beyond like some people in the community they did go above and beyond don’t get me wrong but I just mean letting the community take over and be able to go 110% I think really took the game to a whole new level this game was and still is the best game ever created in the new age of video games being able to experience and express how you feel in this platformer was amazing. I’ve just beat the psp version again. I’ve been playing lbp2 and once I beat that I’m going straight to ps4 and playing the 3rd one I’ve since switched to an Xbox series x for the game pass but if the off chance a new lbp comes out (not a sackboy game) I will go get a PlayStation. I am currently thinking of buying a vita just for that lbp2 experience on the go since psp is more lbp tech it’s still a great game but man do I miss playing online it isn’t the same without the community it’s not a bad game it just feels like a huge chunk of it has been removed and it hurts the child in me I want to apologize to anyone who took the time to read this I just will forever miss sackboy I just got out of surgery on my hand and what I can tell u is when this puppy is not hurting or numb anymore I’m getting back on the grind rest in piece to the best and biggest part of my childhood I won’t ever forget about this game anyways I’m done Actually edit: I want to say I’ve truly been in love before I’ve felt what it’s like to have someone who you love and trust and also want to be with for the rest of your life and I also know what it feels like to have them walk away or it not work out and I’m not saying this to be corny ( I realize how corny it sounds after typing out lol) but my point is seeing that message that lbp will be shutting down forever on October 31 2024 hurt me more than that did I mean it ripped my heart out the first time I seen it. The servers had been dying but seeing them announce they were pulling the plug ruined me lbp3 is 10 years old and man all I can say is time is flying by im 21 and never expected things to move like this life is so crazy thank you to everyone who played lbp and was apart of the community who knows maybe me and you had played a level or fucked around on the moon before maybe I stole one of your guys emo outfits you were trying to gatekeep lol anyways I just keep thinking of stuff to say about this game probably because a big part of me doesn’t want to let go but anyways now I’m done sorry to be corny but you know what idc this game was everything to me so thank you to everyone who played this along side me thank you This was an amazing video, I’ve been going back and watching these types of videos to reminisce on what they have stolen from us and this video was awesome from the community levels you’d shown to the points you talked about this video was really thought out and put together super nicely, from the soundtrack to just everything thank u bro this made me tear up😂

I started with LBP 2 and I didn't want to, but I have to comment here. This game helped me through my childhood depression. It gave me inspiration to at least... try. And I became a dev myself because of it. It taught me how to study to create better levels, giving me inspiration. Knowing NOW that LBP ended makes me sad, but it also reminds me how good things always ends and everything in life has a cycle, being it long or short, and it will stay in our minds forever. If we find another fellow LBP player, you better know that you're gonna spend time talking about the game, reminiscing how LPB 2 changed our lives forever... (Who here remembers Osvaldo Sniper in their childhood? A famous level creator that created levels such Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed and others? Aww man he was a fan favorite, including mine. I remember once I got inside his world when he was building and asking him how to create a level, he never answered me, but he was probably busy haha... dammn man, if LBP comes back to life I'll be definitely be making my first levels)
