One key thing about Undyne's undying form that it is is a parody or reflection of asriel hyper-death form by them being both "Angels" in a sense as they both draw their powers from the monsters of the underground. One of love and the desire to protect everything in existence. The other of selfishness and desire to whipe out all existence. And you the player being an catalyst to both scenarios.

also cool fact about Asriel's and Undyne the undying's design: it's pretty well known Asriel's second form design is based off the Deltarune, but i feel ike the same applies to Undyne: her shoulder pads are the wings, the heart on her chest is the circle, and her hands and legs are the triangles

6:25 I think there's a bit more to sans's smile than just "Oh he _knows_ he can fuck you up.": he never loses that wide, unsettling grin. His emotions are conveyed through his eyes. Whether he's happily joking, being solemn, or threatening you, he never stops grinning. It's as if he forces himself (or is forced? Skeleton have no lips after all) to smile all the time. Which is very much unlike Papyrus, who has a very expressive grin in comparison. When you take into account sans's apathic and fatalistic nature, this reinforces the idea that he's smiling through depression. In fact, the only times sans ever drops the grin is when Flowey binds him and the others by surprise in the Pacifist route, and when you deal the killing blow to him in the Genocide route. And even then neither last very long.

Theres a lot about sans' design that stands out. For example, the RPG aesthetic that we've following throughout the ruins (basic animal-like monsters and a character wearing a robe) gets immediately broken when we see sans enter with a zipper hoodie with his hands in his pockets. Granted, its subverted when Papyrus enters wearing rpg-esque skeleton armor, but my point still stands. Not just his attire but his body too. Sans looks almost nothing like his brother, his only skeletal features being his nose and maybe his eyes. His lack of an actual jaw, the fact he cant open his mouth, his strange mitten-like hands, its almost like he's wearing a mascot costume rather than an actual skeleton.

Fun fact! Both sans and papyrus are basically fanon versions of characters from the french rpg OFF, at least in the way that they began as literally them and then devolved into what we know now. OFF also follows most of the design choices undertale has, tho in a simpler way.

So I think he's a combination of both the Judge who carries out a final trial for Batter and Zacharie who's also self-aware yet more apathetic and fatalistic towards everything

Undertale is, as a journalist once spoke, in similar terms as i am trying to recall: "a game with a whole bunch of strong arms, and one whimpy arm named 'graphics'." -Benjamin Richard "Yahtzee" The characters are as alive as they can be, the story is strong and makes you question your own morality if you are just willing to listen to it instead of concentrating on goals like you always would, the world is lived in and there a sincere attempt at making it 'make sense' or at least 'give it rules you can follow'. Both undertale and deltarune share so, which is why deltarune just has such massive shoes to fill for, undertale wasn't just the hot game of the moment, it wasn't just 'oh cool, cool' like many others, it was genuinely special because it had something to say, and to me it was 'are you a good person? How many times would you press the button to torture someone else, if you felt like there wasn't any consequence? If you thought it all to be just a game, would it justify that you commited a form of genocide with a twisted smile on your face?' Undertale was very judgy of a lot of people, and people felt judged, and some did not like it, but it also showed something else, the 'knights' of undertale who would impose the 'correct way' of playing undertale onto those who played it. Undertale never had a correct way, that's why in deltarune your 'choices don't matter', because you were not meant to see a 'correct way', you were meant to 'feel', and think about what you just did, and ask to yourself 'did it really not matter at all?'

There's different types of species in the underground made of magic, in the papyrus's soup puzzle appears there's different types of "monsters" and it's own unique forms, and sans himself said he's apparently a skeleton when you pass the ruins, the humans in the surface tend to call them "monsters", so you can difference them between humans when it comes to be in plural

It's assumed Flowey and Sans interact countless times during Flowey's runs, and they interact in the true pacifist ending.
