I've been living in a tiny German village for over three years now. This is how my life has been away from the city - the struggles, the loneliness, the simplicity, the freedom, how it really feels to be a young person in a small town, far away from others... It's not that bad!
Simple living in the village has probably been the biggest contributor to my minimalist lifestyle and my interests in financial minimalism too, so those are also things to consider before moving to the countryside! It can definitely be tough but also beneficial in many ways.

Hehe, i'm what you called a homebody~. As someone who did grow up in a very rural village and lived her whole life in villages and small towns for me it is actually the complete opposite. I moved into a bigger town, because of work and all and it is really hard. It's loud and sometimes stinky. The people are so ... fast? and sometimes really mean and insensitive. And i don't have much nature hear, the one thing which always helped me to handle my stress. But i slowly adapt~. Like you, at the moment i try to make my home as nice as possible and find ways for me. For example, a week ago i got lost on a walk xD. I was so stressed, but then by pure coincidence i found this cute little animal-park. I was there for 2 hour's just enjoying the goats and lamas and also watching the familys with their children who where interacting with the animals. I saved this place on google maps xD. Life is, what you make out of it. It's hard sometimes, but there is also so much positivity :).

I feel for you and I absolutely see where you are coming from! I hope you can find peace where you live now and a way to connect with nature anyway! I think I will never be able to be fully happy without this connection now :) It's really a special thing to get to know as a child and carry with you through life. I love your sentiment about it and I really believe you are going to have a wonderful life with your attitude!

@@AntoniatheUniverse Hehe~, thank you for this nice reply. Also, from youre other answer, i'm also happy everytime you answer a comment :D. Youre videos gave me also a lot of motivation this Year. Because, althought i wrote this, i had a really though year xx. The moving, money problems, health issues, all the good stuff x). Sometimes it was really hard to actually see the good things, but i fortunatly have good friends and i myself i'm quite the reflected person, what can be good and bad at the same time xD. But yeah, what can you other do as move forward and try to do youre best, even when it's just little steps. Whish you a happy new year :).

Right know I am living in a really big city for the first time in my life for a year of studying abroad. And while I see so many benefits of living in the center of a huge city, it can be very stressful, exhausting and overwhelming. It has shown me that I need a calm environment and how much of an influence my environment actually has on me. I that way I have a somewhat similar experience to you

A really great video. I also moved from a big city to a small village and haven't regretted a minute. If I can't get out into nature one day, I think I'm missing out because there's so much to see and do there. You become a different person.

@@AntoniatheUniverse I spent the first 30 years of my life in Essen and then moved to a village with 7,000 inhabitants professionally. Many predicted that I will come back very quickly. Now I've been living in this village for 45 years and have never regretted it. Nature around it made me another person. I am much calmer and more balanced I go for a walk with my dog every day and I am always happy to be in nature. Many people don't know what they miss.

I can so identify with this. Although I live in a large city, we have a few nature reserves and parks around. Going for walks in nature gave me a sense if peace. I used to do a lot of photography on vacation, but not so much at home, until I retired. At my retirement party at the office, I was given a DSLR camera, which I now always refer to as my BFF “Cammie”. Photography really does change your view of the world around you. You become much more aware of small details that we so often overlook in our busy daily lives.

Thank you so much! Yes, I did!! But you enjoy it for me too, please!
