I used to work in Rijeka in Croatia, my wife and I used Ryanair frequently between Montfalcone (Friuli - Venezia) and Stanstead a 2 hour flight. On one occasion my wife was flying back from UK and missed her flight at Stanstead, by the time she discovered she had missed the flight, I was half way to Montfalcone from Rijeka (about a 60 mile trip)! The Ryanair ground staff were incredible and found her an alternative flight to 'Milan' in true Ryanair style their version of 'Milan' was actually Bergamo which is actually on the same motorway system serving Montfalcone but 200 miles further away! So as her new flight was 3 hours later than the original it suited us fine as I was able to continue driving and arrived approximately half an hour before her revised flight! Brilliant service, rarely hear anything positive about Ryanair but there you go! Well done Ryanair!

BGY is one of my favorite airports. I'm a travel agent and we try to avoid selling Ryanair, but for this region, I always happily share my experience and all customers who followed my advice enjoyed going there!

Good to see employees empowered to take care of the customer. I have had good experiences with Delta the two times something went wrong. United on the other hand...

It entirely depends on so many factors - I handle check-in and gate for United and mostly when there is a hefty delay we can re-route passengers - sometimes though it just isn't possible and an overnight is the only option. If you want to see good customer service with United, come to Shannon! 😊

I don't know but I think United empowers their workers too! I mean they can drag their paid passenger off the plane, I will say that's some power-trip right there!

United are probably one of the last airlines I would ever consider flying with. Firstly the doctor who famously got dragged off a flight. Any airline that tries to defend this kind of behaviour is an obvious bully - I deeply detest bullies period. Secondly the way in which they reacted I.e. a mistake was made, but the airline Chief executive instead of accepting any kind of responsibility for the event or even having the decency to apologise decided to defend the perpetrators & in doing so proved himself morally unfit for his own job.

Loganair has really got a grip on their customer relations & service. Watching this video has made me feel proud to be Scottish. I hope Loganair is an airline that is around for many more years to come and I wish there every success for the future.👏👍🤝🥰😊

Nothing like an oil leak in Newcastle ! How good is the cabin crew uniform !! Loved it!! Great explanation from the flight deck ! How rare ! Thanks Noel for another great insight to a little know airline(at least here in Australia!) Well done mate and I look forward to your next flight/review etc!

I woke up to find my flight from San Fran to Heathrow was delayed, 2 hours before I was due to set off to the airport, I got a txt to say it had been cancelled. I was transferred onto a flight from San Fran to LA then to Heathrow. Fast forward 14 hours later I arrived in Heathrow to find my luggage was nowhere to be seen, it was still 5000 miles away in LA even though the airline told me it would be transferred from one plane to the other...I finally got it delivered to home 24 hours later...funniest thing was my friend lives in America and was due to get two flights from San Fran back to Alabama, they delayed her flight, boarded her and then told her to get off as it was too late and no one was available to fuel the plane. She got home the same time as I did lol! Wouldn’t change any of it though because our road trip from San Fran, LA and Vegas and back was a dream come true and this was all whilst you was doing your around the world in 80 hours ✈️🌎

Years ago I flew with Ryanair- Stansted to Lübeck (this route no longer operates). We experienced a TAIL STRIKE (potentially very dangerous) during takeoff. It sounded like luggage hitting the back of the hold, but was more serious. Midway through the 1 hour flight the pilot informed us of the incident and said that we had to fly back to Stansted as an emergency to check the aircraft. We flew back in about 15 minutes! We landed totally safely but the aircraft was inspected. The whole while we were forced to wait on board, with little communication of how long the process would take. This lasted over an hour. The aircraft was then deemed unsafe and we were told to disembark. We were ferried to a dismal little gate at Stansted and waited there for another 2 hours for the next Ryanair to take us to Lübeck. We weren't even given a free drink. I would always prefer to wait in the order of safety, and I fully support the aviation industry for their safety standards. So I've no issue with quadruple checking aircrafts. I just think AIRLINES should think more about their customers' inconvenience.

As someone to fly spirit for my only international flights, I can say I’ve been disappointed each time with delays, but at least the price almost justifies it.

Years ago my mum and I were flying to George South Africa via Johannesburg, we arrived at Heathrow Airport to be told our flight was cancelled. Within 25 minutes of arrival at the airport we were upgraded to first class for the next day and put in a hotel on the Airlines expense. The next day we flew via Munich with lufthansa to connect with the flight to Johannesburg

ok, back in August, we were going back to Canada after a few months in Czech Republic. We get to the check-in and it says 24 hour delay on the tv screen. We didn't think much of it until somebody was asking us if we were on the later flight or the earlier flight. We got into the line up for the later flight and they told us it was actually delayed by 24 hours. Im not entirely sure what the airline did afterwards, but im pretty sure they said they were going to re-pay us. If its a technical fault, im glad that they take care of it. I'd rather be delayed than in an emergency.

My Cathay Dragon flight was delayed by 4 hours because the systems had crashed. The Captain was really good because he was honest and constantly updating us on how long it would take and what was wrong, and as we were on the plane, we were able to use the onboard entertainment and some extra snacks and water were given after about an hour. Overall, I thought it was handled quite well.

In about 1991 my flight from St. Maarten to JFK was cancelled due to a mechanical issue. Pan Am put us up overnight in an expensive hotel for which Pan Am was paying just $20 a night. We had a lovely extra day in paradise and headed home the next day. A week later Pan Am was out of business. Two months later we noticed a $450 charge on our credit card bill from the hotel. Seems Pan Am did not pay the $20 bill and the hotel tried to stick us with the published rate. We called our credit card issuer who reversed the charge and the hotel was not able to support their request for the bill as we had only signed saying we would be responsible for incidentals. That was the end of that and sadly, the end of Pan Am.

My worst delay experience. I flew Zürich-Frankfurt-San Francisco-Los Angeles-Auckland with AA. On approach to San Francisco the captain informed us that for a change there was great weather there but LA had bad weather and everything down there was delayed and connecting passengers should go th the AA desk. There a rude woman took my ticket, looked in the computer and told me without even looking at me that there was no space for me on my connecting flight. When I told her I had a connection at LA to New Zealand she said she didn't care. I asked when can I get down to LA and she said "I don't know", handed me my ticket and said "next" and the next guy was already pushing his way foreward. I tried to keep the pressure on and she said that if I don't go away she would call security! I was shocked and had no idea what to do. I wandered to another terminal and found another AA desk and got almost the same treatment there. After 6 hours of repeated rude AA treatment I found a cop and asked him what should I do, I was 17 years old so a minor in the US traveling alone. He went to the next AA desk with me and what a surprise, I got a seat on the very next AA shuttle down to LA but by the time I got there my connection to New Zealand had just left. The AA desk there was a little politer and the lady there appologised and said I'd have to wait until the next day. I had nowhere to stay and no idea what to do. I had to sleep in in the airport but before security so in a place where anyone had access and I had to sleep on top of my luggage to be sure nobody tried to steal it. The next day I checked in and the lady there said that my flight was yesterday, not today and I had missed it and would have to buy a new ticket! That's where I lost it and got loud, loud enough that security showed up. Once again it was the police that sorted it with AA and I got on my flight. Never again have I flown with AA and have always gone via Singapore back to New Zealand. SIA are so much better and Changi is a palace compared to the American shit hole airports.

Strangely Ryanair really gave us great treatment was due to fly from tenerife to Liverpool however due to snow flight was cancelled so they put us up in a hotel for 3/4 extra nights until the next Liverpool flight and paid for everything as well as compensating us for the delay was really impressed. Also, my worst delay experience was with easyJet, 4 hours in Liverpool airport and only given a voucher worth £4 per person however was compensated in the end and all was well with the holiday being free! :)

In 2015 I flew with British Airways IAD-LHR-DUB and back. I was traveling with a group of about 50 people, and due to a one hour delay on our first flight, we did not make our connection to Dublin. BA agents were really helpful in rebooking our group on multiple LHR-DUB flights. AND on our transit through LHR again to go back to IAD, they had an escort take us through the underground tunnel from Terminal 5A to 5C.

I like Loganair's EMB-135 aircraft; I flew from Bournemouth to Guernsey in August of this year on G-SAJU. It's a shame it's seasonal and only operates for Spring & Summer though, I would have booked a Winter flight for Christmas otherwise. However, 'JU has Loganair's tartan headrest covers!

Remember BA from Miami and was only given a $19 voucher for food then a bottle of water at the gate. For a 5 hour delay, we expected compensation as the previous aircraft had a lighting strike but delayed it futher to carry a US diplomat. Not fun leaving at 2 am and MIA had been shut at this point except for a few cargo flights.

The majority of flights I've been on (mainly Emirates) have departed on time but the start of one of my flights with Qantas wasn't too good. Can't remember how long the delay was but the air con wasn't working (during summer in Aus), the ovens in the galleys weren't working so we only ate food like rolls and snacks. The cabin crew tried to make up for it by giving us domestic quality business class headphones but none of it was their fault so I felt sorry for them when some pax acted like it was. It was a short domestic flight though so it wasn't too bad

I've only ever been delayed as a kid in the late 80's/early 90's on Air Europe flying a 747 to Florida. I think it was 8 hours late in the end and we got a meal in the Hilton at Gatwick.

so i was flying with BA in the 777-200ER to Seattle in premium economy, but our flight was delayed and our aircraft was grounded due to technical problems. They switched to a 777-300ER, and some passengers in Premium economy were aloowed to move into bussiness, as it was pretty empty - i was one of them!!

Delays, I've had 2 major delays. The worst was with my United flight from Atlanta to Lexington KY. The flight got delayed several hours before the 1st class and premium were rebooked onto another flight. Me and the group I was with had to wait overnight for the next flight out. A month ago, I had a delay with American where my flight from Cincinnati to Boston was delayed before ultimately all were moved to a flight 8 hours later.

Had a 13 hour delay to Greece with TUI from Manchester. But it was the day Thomas Cook went bust leaving a lot of families in tears at the terminal. so our delay was taken in its stride given the circumstances of the day. But TUI got us a coach to a nice hotel in Manchester and supplied a day room with food paid on and travel back to the airport in the morning. overall a decent response to a terrible day.

Best delay was Singapore Airlines in Singapore. It being Chinese New Year they had over booked a flight to New Zealand. For a 24 hour delay they gave my partner and I $600 (Singapore) each plus fares each way back into the City and free accomodation and meals at a nice hotel. It was a bonus for me as it gave me a chance to visit a couple of places I didn’t get to while we had been staying there. Even without this Singapore Airlines are our carrier of choice because of the great service they give during a flight.

Noel, you have a very good vocabulary and an intelligent way of constructing your sentences. If the BBC Children's TV series still existed I would recommend you to be a narrator or storyteller for Jackanory. Loganair has demonstrated something rarely seen in the commercial aviation industry these days and that is a degree of flexibility. They are a great advert for the Aberdeen based airline. I have never really used Ryanair & have absolutely no intention of doing so after the numerous horror stories about the airline. I have never used Loganair either but my opinion of this airline could not be more different to that I have for Ryanair.

I was delayed 6,5 hours on a Turkish airlines airplane without airco due to a broken APU (we had to return to the terminal to be refueled due to a storm, but all the gates were already taken and there was nobody working on the ramp due to high winds). We then missed our connection in Istanbul. TK provided us with a hotel, but the baggage service in Ataturk airport left our bags in transit. Ever since I bring spare clothes in my carry-on.

Afew years ago I wa delayed at Luton due to French ATC being on strike. This was on my honeymoon. When eventually the ATC issue was sorted Luton was fogbound. So we were bussed to East Midlands. Eventually departing approx 18hrs if I recall late.

I remember going hamburg for the day flying with easyJet and getting stuck out there for the night because of baggage handling strikes they where helpfull they put us in a hotel over night gave us vouchers for food and then flue home the next morning

A couple years back me and my family were on holiday in egypt, we had flown tui (or thomson as it was called then) and the flight back to england was cancelled so we had to stay another night in the hotel, and it was good because thomaon paid for the delay and we got an extra day for free

That was very responsible of Logan Air, in all my years of traveling no airline has ever helped me ( ever ). In my experience American West & Reno Air are the worst Customer Service & reliable Airlines, American, Delta & United are about the same in my book ( pretty good ) 9:40

My flight from Wick to Edinburgh was cancelled due to weather. And, Loganair put me on a bus to Inverness and I got a flight from there.

My WORST Delay experience: Norwegian Stuck at Larnaca airport, told there would be a 1 hour delay at check in, which was obviously disappointing but nothing too bad. Through to the fairly small departure lounge at LCA, and the departure boards indicate a 2 hour delay. Nearing the end of the 2 hour delay, the departure boards indicate a 4 hour delay. Then 5 hours. Then 6 hours. Then 7 hours. We’re given a voucher for food at the limited outlets at LCA, but not sufficient enough in my opinion, but that’s it. No other communication. Thoroughly disappointed, but claimed and got the mandatory EU compensation. BEST Delay experience: Lufthansa Had a connection at Frankfurt to Sofia from LHR. Our departure from LHR was delayed 2 hours, which made the connection at FRA theoretically impossible since the connection time was 35 minutes. But, absolutely no problem, since once we landed, we had already been booked on the next flight departing shortly after our arrival and we got on with our journey and landed without fuss at Sofia. Yes, the delay was frustrating but how Lufthansa dealt with it was fantastic

My worst delay was LERS(Reus) to EGLL(Belfast international ) toi flight BY 1285/ TOM 1285 30+ hour delay . They put up us + 130 more passengers in a 2 star hotel in Spain where there was bugs on the beds and the staff where very unhelpful as well as a tui rep couldn’t not be found

Best experience on a canceled flight? Krakow 25th July '19, last flight back to stansted, turns out its being canceled due to very bad weather over the Canal De La Mancha, got provided with free ticket, a night in a lovely 5* hotel very close to the airport and taxi vouches to hotel and back to the airport.

I think delays for anxious flyers is the worst, already anxious about the flight and yet they have to wait longer while their mind overthinks it, if you're over the age of 18 then I do recommend having a pint or something alcoholic even just a couple, normally that calms me and it just relaxes the heart. :)

I think they did s fantastic job if you ask me. I had a similar experience. I had arrangements a few years ago to fly from JFK airport to San Francisco on an economy seat with United using my miles. They contacted me to say that my flight was cancelled. They rebooked me to fly from Newark airport. I got to the airport to find out that that flight had significant delays & meant that my party would have to meet me in San Francisco at 1am. That wasn't going to work. So they gave me the option of rebooking for a very early flight the following day in a, get this, BUSINESS CLASS SEAT USING THE SAME AMOUNT OF MILES!!! I had a comfy reclining seat if which I took a nap on. Breakfast, & a hot rag was included in the service. The amenities bag was useful too. I didn't check out the Wi-Fi or the in-flight entertainment as I had neither the need or time to do so. I was happy with the service. Flying back on economy was not as nice. So if I were to fly United again, I would choose business class at least for long trips. It was nice to be able to get that perk for being rebooked several times.

My wif e and I were coming from Geneva to Heathrow. The flight was delayed because we would not be able to in London because of higher than normal wind and rain. Being late we missed our home leg to Boston. We were put up in a hotel . But waiting for the shuuttle it took rheum four hours to get to hotel . Flight home was at 7:00 pm the next night. Thought we wouldn’t get home.

I flew with them last year between Inverness and benbecula via Stornaway. The flight was nice, yet there was no in flight service as they consider it two short flights under an hour each so you get nowt. What made it worse for the passengers was the stewardess made herself and the crew a coffee. I haven’t had many serious delays a few hours late off benbecula to Glasgow missing my onward flight to london, due to weather. One of the guys in the office was delayed 3 days as the benbecula flight was cancelled he had to take the ferry in the end.

It’s the only airline serving many of the islands - on benbecula you have a choice logainair or the calmac ferry.

I actually think that the solution was a big help to LoganAir. If people had not arrived in time to catch that replacement flight instead then they would’ve had to put up the passengers in a hotel like the poor oil workers. So it was a beneficial arrangement for all concerned. Even so they resolved it for the majority. Arriving two hours early may have had minimal impact for the majority of passengers unless it meant a longer wait for another their next flight.

British Airways really let me down with a 12 and a half hour delay in Zurich because the aircraft had suffered an engine failure on the aircraft's flight into Heathrow (from I think Madrid) and there was no other spare aircraft. BA provided no help or assistance, not even a rebooking onto Swiss

I have always found Loganair to be an excellent airline. My worst delay experiences have exclusively been with United. They could learn a thing or two from Loganair.

As an Aussie ive noticed you don't really visit or fly around Asia and it's a pity as the Asian airlines are usually our only choice to get to Europe. Would love to see videos on the good ones like Cathay, Thai, singspore, Vietnam etc and the shitty ones like Air Asia, Jetstar and Scoot

They should have sent you into the blue lane. Norway is in the EEA so therefore the customs union, meaning you use the blue lane. Hint - look for the green edges on bag tags. Those tell you you can use the blue colored lane.

Spirit airlines BOS-BWI Flight scheduled for 1pm. Delayed till 10pm because of inclement weather in Dallas Fort Worth. I checked multiple radars. Crystal clear all day and night.

Best but really the worst was virgin atlantic Gatwick to Orlando got 24 hour delay, got put in gatwick Hilton and free upgrade 👍🏼

I once had a Vueling flight from Amsterdam down to Barcelona with a couple of friends, on the way to Barcelona Vueling cancelled the flight after having waited over 5 hours (original flight was due to depart at 10:30) and didn't do anything to work with passengers. eventually we got an Aviaparter employee who went above and beyond to rebook us on a Transavia flight the next morning with a small price (was like 20 Euros for the 5 of us or something like that). then in Barcelona on our way back to Amsterdam the flight was delayed by over 6 hours due to an "ill" captain according to the gate officer. since we had the last flight of Vueling we were now stranded at El prat in Barcelona (was like 2300 Hours or so) again Vueling did nothing to help us, not even offer accomodation or food vouchers, this was like 2-3 years back but I haven't flown Vueling or LEVEL since.

My worst delay was wen I was flying with Ba from Geneva to London and then to San Francisco but the flight from gva to Lhr was cancelled so we had to drive at 2am to an airport 2h away were we luckily got are flight. No sleep that night.

Great video!! I always love watching your videos!! Good on LoganAir!! I flew with Air Canada to Toronto, and i was due to connect there to Calgary and then onto Kelowna, British Columbia. When I arrived, the Calgary flight was delayed by 3 hours, which meant I would miss my connection to Kelowna. I spoke to the gate agent, she said there was a direct flight to Kelowna leaving in 35 minutes, and that there was space available on it, and put me on that flight. I thought that was fantastic customer service on their part! I will definitely be flying with them again.

I can't fault ANA - I turned up to Osaka Itami a couple of hours early with only hand luggage for my flight to Tokyo Haneda, they booked me on an earlier flight and were really polite. I love flying to/from Japan. I had a flight from EDI to LHR with a connection home to GIB and the EDI>LHR leg was early but couldn't taxi to stand due to it being occupied by someone else undergoing deicing. I almost missed my connection as neither BA nor LHR airport assisted me and my bags didn't make it. I did have a bit of a whinge about it and BA compensated me with air miles.

Many years ago I was due to fly out of Basle back to the UK. However due to a fault with the incoming aircraft I flight was cancelled. In those days the handling agents were Swissair we were all put up in a 5 star hotel in Basle overnight. On another occasion I was due to fly to Ibiza on my honeymoon from Luton. Due to a number of issues Myself and my new wife spent the night on the floor at Luton Aorport. The following day we ended up being bussed upto East Midlands Airport. Not a good start to a honeymoon what made it worse it was the first time my wife had ever flown.

Such a shame that the aircraft went tech again after your flight. Not suffered a delay but recently had a poor boarding experience at Alicante- it made me think of the video you did with Rach at Majorca on Ryanair.

Luckily the worst delay I've ever had so far has only been 6 hours. That was flying from AKL to HNL and another aircraft had to be flown in from SYD. So considering Air New Zealand had to position an aircraft from Australia, it could have been a lot worse. And Auckland was a great airport anyway.

I got stuck in Belize because the incoming pilot couldn't see the runway. But other pilots could. We all missed our connection in CLT and thankfully got put up overnight. Another time, flying from Montreal to JFK, I entered the USA but was in Canada and the flight got cancelled 30 minutes before boarding with no information and no offers of compensation. I'm probably going to avoid air canada from now on.

My worst delay was with monarch in 2012 MAN-ALC was delayed 12 hours and wasn’t given any info about anything still to this day I don’t know what caused that delay

If I remember correctly a serviceable APU is NOT required for flight. Just use a jet starter and fly!

@@oneandonlycat If it's not running it's not normally leaking oil. We flew a Nimrod back from Singapore which had one engine leaking oil, but while it was running the leak was within leak limits! lol Good Days.
