A yaw string indicates your trim setting and "points to the guilty foot" in full size aircraft, and is the opposite of the turn and bank indicator where you "step on the ball" to stay in trim.

Gotcha thanks for the clarification! Its fun to have a yaw string on such a small plane :)

I love the content. Gentle correction, but the yaw string only indicates your slip angle, not the wind direction. Gliders have them because flying crooked creates drag, and it's the simplest, cheapest, and lightest slip indicator.

Your content is unique and interesting. Too many people trying to make RC channels just flying planes around and that takes some really good flying and good filming to keep folks watching. I've done a few videos of flying but the how-to videos are what I spend the most time on because my flying isn't that exciting, lol. You guys have a good thing going, keep it up and you'll be successful!

If you really want to go thermal soaring with the UMX crescendo. Try to find a public Arena on a hot day where is the big fans are at the arena fly over those you'll catch thermals off of the building and the heat coming off of those fans

Great tip! Yeah we haven't had too many blistering days yet, but once we do we can get soaring for sure!

Finish up your glide settings by adding an aileron/rudder mix fine-tuned with your yaw string. Together with your elevator mix that will give you a totally coordinated turn. Just make sure expo is the same for all 3 control axes.

Yeah good call! We'll try to get something like that working!

I also tested total flight time with transmitter timer set to 4 min. counting down only while above 25% throttle. Using 300 mah 3 cell I kept track of Conscendo with separate timer . I too zoom straight up till it is a small dot then switch on safe mode it levels so you can see black bottom leave it in safe keeps it level ! It was breezy that afternoon using up my 4 min. motor time total flight 37 minutes. motor was pulsing as i landed battery was at 5% not realizing safe mode draws power also still very impressed great plane !!

We haven't used a 250 mah battery, but I'm guessing you could get a little longer flight times because its a little easier. What brand of batteries do you have?

Oh yeah I don't doubt it. The more packs we fly, the longer and longer our flights get!
@JLNYardBird3 ай бұрын
Wind won’t make your airplane fly longer. I hear this at my field all the time and it is false. If I hope in my full-size airplane on a windy day, it won’t climb faster, because I have to climb at the same speed. If I fly into the wind my flight will be longer to the destination than flying with the wind, and the fuel burn will verify that.
@InvertedAviatorsRC3 ай бұрын
Ah interesting! I figured that with a glider, more airspeed via wind would equate to more lift. With such light plane I feel like enough wind can push the little guy up for longer. And with very little battery being required to maintain flight, that would mean that my overall flight time would be longer on a windier day
