How long does grief last? Daegu Subway Fire and those who still remember their losses | KBS 230307

On February 18, 2003, an arsonist set fire to a Daegu Metro subway train as it arrived at Jungangno station in central Daegu, South Korea.
The resulting blaze killed 192 people and injured another 151. It remains the deadliest loss of life in a single deliberate incident in South Korean history.
Families of those who died from Daegu Subway Fire still think of their loved ones.

Excellent documentary! I cried through the whole thing. I have 3 grown children, I have 2 grandchildren. To think the parents of the victims aren't able to experience this is heartbreaking. For every tragedy in life there has to be something to come out of it in order to maybe prevent another one. But people are selfish and greedy and history will go on repeating itself.

I wish i could tell her to never forget and to celebrate those precious 9 years she had with him every second of everyday. It's easy for a parent whos child is at home safe and sound, to tell a parent who lost their child to just forget and move on because they dont understand the gaping whole left behind in your soul.... a piece of her soul is literally missing and theyre telling her to just forget it and move on?!? BS! You never get over losing a loved one, time doesnt heal the wound, you just learn how to cope with it... thats it... its still there like a cut that never fully heals... one memory, one word, one smell etc will reopen it periodically and then it scabs over and hurts less but it never heals or scars over... the scab stays until its ripped open

The fact that they were asking victims questions while they lay on the gurney with oxygen masks 🤦🏽‍♀️ -100 on how this whole incident was handled

I cant believe the way they handled that scene!! Basically bagged everything into trash bags, threw it on the curb and told the families to find their dead loved ones remains?!? PATHETIC. Its so sad, especially considering the team who helped find remains here in America after 9/11 offered their services FOR FREE but the Korean government turned them down.... its unimaginable how the victims remains were treated like trash... its unacceptable... that just tortured the victims families even more.... as if they weren't already devastated they then had to witness their loved ones remains and possessions treated like trash... i know itll be 21 years in a few weeks but i cant understand why there's not a mob still throwing a fit everyday about this....

Just like US Navy and the Japanese Navy offered their finest military boats to assist the untrained South Korean Coast guard to save the people that were still alive in the sinking ferry boat Sewol. As a result I think 305 people died, 200 of them were just high school kids going on a trip.

Poor the parents 💔 they had fertility issues and when they finally had their baby she died in this awful tragedy this's so sad may all the victims rest in peace
