Hey! I incubated for males last year at 90° and they hatched out around 35 - 40 days. I did hatch out a couple females, and sold them not knowing they were females, one of the people I sold one to someone I became friends with and decided to breed her to one of my males. Well so far she's laid 2 eggs, and they were big and fertile.

Hi! I am a first year breeder. I am doing the method where I move TSF eggs to the male incubator after 24-25 days of being in the TSF incubator. I have read this locks them in for being female and can help produce more intense coloring. And it speeds up incubation time. Have you done this at all? I am trying to figure out when they might hatch. Thanks.

I have never tried this method so i cant speak to much to its success rates. For example im wondering if there is a higher likelihood of males popping out if done this way, but im sorry i cant be more of a help in this topic. A friend of mine told me he just did it this way and the gecko hatched out after 45 days

Hi, if you do a google search most sources will say males incubate at 88-90 degrees and hatch in 35-45 days and females hatch at 79-81 and take 60 -65 days to hatch and mixed gender hatches at 50-55 days and incubates at 85 degeres. I am putting together data and research to see the accuracy with which the geckos hatch male and female at these temps but its pretty commonly accpeted for 20+ years to breed this way. So far ive never had a female incubated egg turn out male but i have had male incubated eggs turn females but i think this could have been because my first year incubating for male i accidentally did heat the eggs enough, and i think they dropped into the mixed gender temp range, but this year i have a better way to test this out, and im hoping to have a closer to 100% hatch rate for males. Most breeders will not say its ever 100% gaurentee but it can be pretty high up there. Hope that helps? Lemme know if u got questions and ill share my data in the future when i have it. :) :)

I'm getting a little worried like if they may have an under developed egg tooth and can't get through the shell though I'm probably over reacting I just like to make sure seeing as it's my first clutch from my gecko mango.

For egg incubation we use something called "Vermiculite" it comes in large grain or small. We use small grain mainly. You can order it from Amazon and some home depots stock it still! :D

Nice information! Questions: I have exo terra incubator, it has “snake-lining” water tray inside, am I supposed to fill the water in it until it will empty, then refill every time? and is it also helps with the humidity goes up? If yes, what percent of humidity should it be average at? I’m newbie.

I keep the egg in the incubator until it molds or until the other one hatches and I still don't see an embryo inside. You can take it out sooner as well but I usually wait at least 30 days, and if there still is no embryo that can be seen its most likely infertile, but no harm waiting longer if u want. I'll look at some of my eggs and do a video specifically on embryo development! 😁😁 TY for the good questions!

Hi Frank! My eggs have been in the incubator for just over 4 weeks. I'm incubating at 80-81. I've heard that sex is determined in the first 3 weeks. Would it be possible to raise the incubation temperature at this point to speed up hatching or will this hurt the eggs? Thanks!

I incubate between 78-82, meaning that even with temp swings from opening the door etc, it stays within that range, so far I have gotten 100% females out of 400 geckos in 3 years

@@diggydo4954 Hm... yeh i dont know what happened, but i would try to get a friend or someone to pull the egg for you, Also I suggested wetting the moist hide more than usual to try and carry over some extra humidity and moving it to the cool side of the tank as long as the cool side does not go below 77 degrees, wet, moisture makes things colder sometimes and that can kill the egg, but yeh i juststated how you have to try and pull that egg if possible, I lost 2 eggs durring my honey moon last year each worth $300 lol but this is where friends and family might come in handy.

I set up their tubs today, and I'm going to have that ready, and then when the person I have coming over comes, they're going to transfer the babies over the tub. With my adults, I'm leaving big bowls of water and then leaving mealworm dishes with lots of mealworms. The person coming to my house will top off their waters and occasionally refill their mealworms. Do you think this will work? Any tips or anything would be extremely helpful. (Wow that really sucks losing those eggs... What morph were they?)

But u did everything right for the geckos, they are extremely hardy and between you and me, can survive weeks, and many months without us ever giving them food or water as adults so a few days will not hurt at all :)

Yeah Hova Bator is good just make sure you monitor the actually temp location of where the eggs are sitting with a thermostat sitting directly on top of the eggs. You've seen me demonstrate that in my videos right?

I do not, egg boxes are 100% sealed to hold humidity and I use 1:1 ratio of weight, for example. 30 grams vermiculite, and then add 30 grams of water, shake, stir, and ur good to go for 6 months :D

This might be a dumb question but in regards to the temperature you mentioned, is that in Fahrenheit or Celsius? Also for the temperature-dependent statement you made, is that like they will only be at that gender or will have a higher possibility for that specific aiming gender?

Farenheit if you need celcius you can google farenheit to celcius conversion and it does it very well for ya on google! :D There is a little debate in the community over weather its 100% or not, but it appears to be VERY close. I've hatched 50 babies over 2 years and all turned out according to the gender i wanted when hatched this way. Other people and other sources mention similar results. Some people claim they only have 70-80% success rate, but to that I say, MAYBE they have temperature SWINGS durring incubation effecting the variance. So monitor your temps really good and you should be fine :)

I was incubating for girls, my eggs were laid on 3.14 and I’ve been incubating between 73-82 degrees. I only have one boy so I think it’s smarter to go for boys so that I can actually get to breeding faster. Initially I figured girls will sell faster but I’ll take it up to 89 degrees. Will the hatch date go from 60 to 30-35 days still or maybe longer?

So girls lays the eggs so if you want more geckos you need more females. But if your just looking to sell, then yeh it doesnt matter but boys hatch at 35-45 days.

One of my eggs is over a month incubated and it was flipped on accident. The egg is red and back and I can’t tell which side is up or down. One side is more dark whip the other is more red

So to my current understanding probally the dark side is the body of the baby forming, this will form on top, so dark side up and you should be fine either way, with geckos it doesnt really matter, but jsut put it dark side facing up and u should be ok :)

Frank... My female Blizzard was bred 37 days ago and still no eggs!!! How long can they go, this is crazy, she so fat she can't hardly walk, can see the eggs in her too so I am getting stressed for her.. Has a nice warm damp lay box.. I thought the lay them between 22 and 30 days! Ahhhh...

Yes im sorry this can happen where the eggs take longer to get laid or sometimes in the WORST cases they never come out and can unfortunately cause death in the animal. There is really nothing we can do except make sure she has access to fresh food, water, warm humid hide and warm basking spot on 90 degrees, im sorry i have quite a few feamles this year that laid between 2-3 months and in the apst i had one girl lay after 4 months! it scarred me so much but there was nothing i could do except give her her space, rest, make sure she had all her other needs met and jsut pray she made it through, im so sorry, i wouldnt worry too much just give her space, give her a nice dark hiding spot humid and warm so she can feel secure and comfortable as possible to hopefully encourage her to lay :/ I dont do this, but some people give daily warm baths to their leos when they go through "egg binding" type scenarios

We made it from an old wine cooler, put a heat source at the back (reptile heat cable) and then used the wine coolers natural fans to circulate the air. Then of course you need to hook up a thermostat to the heat cable to control the temp :) I should do a video on that one day as well..

Hi I have a question, I want to breed my male leo but when i introduce him into a females enclosure, he immediately bites the female agressively and tries to "r@p3" without introducing himself and shaking the tail. its straight into action. it spooked several of my females and its concerning whether is he going to be like this on in the future? he has mated once with a female but after that, its the "straight into biting".

that is common behaviour for a male, straight to it, are they females ovulating? If not dont pair them until the girls are ovualting and then once they are ovualting let them breed and them remove the male after , does that help?

this happens sometimes the latest ive heard of an egg hatching is 75 days, that being said sometimes the embryos dont develope or the egg is infertile. Unfortunatly ive never heard of gecko owners cutting open the eggs to get the babies out like they do in the ball python world, so just rub the egg a few times with ur hand like seen in this video and hope that it will hatch out good. BTW have you candled the egg to make sure it is fertile? I have a video on egg fertility too, thanks :)
