Lessons Learned: 1. Habits are contextual 2. Consiously repeat habits 3. Missing one day or "Que" won't damage the process substantially, but multiple days will. 4. Three R's - Repeatable, Resilient and Reinforcing - A behavior must be all these to be repeated

Thank you for putting all of this together and articulating it. I've actually been doing this process with various things for the last year but I didn't know there was a whole defined process/school of thought on it. I wondered why some things were sticking and becoming habits, and others were not. It's because for some things I had better clarified the method: Simplicity, specifics, accessibility, convenience. With what you've put together, I now have definition to what I've been doing and what's been working, and I can apply those methods to what hasn't been. I'll be getting your book. Thank you and great work.

Hey James, I read your book and would love to have a discussion with you about it. I think I can add lots of value to the field of establishing habits. I have established several habits over the last few years myself. By the way, hope you post some videos again! Cheers.

you know he is just regurgitating information that's already out there in the world right? its basically cliff notes to books/research. you are impressed with his clear voice and his ability to read from a teleprompter.. he is also changing the camera angle enough that you feel engaged and not bored.

You are not clear with your thoughts. Few examples like the British cycling team would not help a person in developing good habits. Contents of this book is really pathetic, very very difficult to understand and implement in normal life. No one is able to summarize the book atomic habits. I have wasted my crucial time to read this bullshit. Very badly written book.
@grantweeks26723 жыл бұрын
1st: I don't think you fully understand the utility of the British cycling analogy. He was explaining how small changes can have a larger impact overall. While that might not directly relate to developing good habits. It's explaining the value, and giving evidence on why he believes small changes can have a greater affect than you might think. Which gives context to the overall meaning of the book. 2nd: your opinion is your opinion. But with some clear and direct planning I found the material in the book quite easy to implement in my life. So just because you are struggling with it, don't deceive yourself into thinking that this is pathetic. 3rd: I am easily able to summarize the book, I gave a presentation on it and I'm also in the 11th grade, my speech got me an easy A (bars) Also the book has received many awards, which in my opinion cannot happen by being a "very badly written book".
