There is no golden rod here in Australia but some of the eucalypts bloom late, and they are a saving grace. I wish that I could attach a few pix so I could show you the tea tree bloom, it was spectacular this year

Coastal Maryland and as of 10/26 (today) the Goldenrod is fading. I can always tell when it does because I see the bees switch over to wild chamomile that grows here. Today while doing some cleanup around the bee yard they were swarming the flowers. Also the hives don't smell quite like wet socks anymore 😁

N.W. Ohio we have 2 varieties of Goldenrod, an early bloom that stick straight up and then a later type that is flat, like your hand. More rain would have helped this year as the fence rows are loaded with it. If the weatherman is correct, Monday's low of 27 will do the trick and end blooming here. It was an incredible nectar gathering year with very short dearths -if any at all!

Here in the Knoxville area the Goldenrod is winding down but we are having a reemergence of a good bit of asters and my bees are hauling it in like cheetos

We’re regulars at the Oglethorpe County Bee Club :) happy to say that our bees have been bringing goldenrod in, to this day! Spent some time with them and I could smell them from yards away 🤗😂

Hi David. Im in SE PA just North of Philadelphia. We have a couple of different varieties of Goldenrod. Ours started in late August and i still have pollen coming in this week. It has been warm up here and we have not had a frost yet. We didn't get enough nectar this year for a Fall harvest. i have gotten a Fall harvest of dark, Goldenrod honey the previous 2 years but not this one. Nectar is still coming in and the bees are storing it for winter.

Central AL... Goldenrod was everywhere but I'm just along the El Nino dry line so there's no fall nectar flow. You are above the dry line, so you are wetter & mild temps. Pay attention to El Nino / La Nina oscillation updates from US Gov/Noaa & know how it effects your area. And definitely know where the dry line is set to be. You will be almost 3-6 mo ahead & already know that a STRONG el Nino was set to arrive Fall 2023 - will be here until Spring 2024. We were in La Nina for the past 3 winters, which was why the weather would either be really warm one week & really cold the next. Ground warmed up & red maple started too early. Won't be the same this winter. You might want to prepare for mild consistent weather that is wetter overall. You will have a pleasant winter. I'm going to be in a deep drought so bees will need to be fed. They are already starting to starve, despite things blooming. Not as much goldenrod blooming. It just rained a good bit today so that might change. When you have drought then a good rain, it triggers perennials to bloom out of season in an attempt to bloom before they die. My fruit tree did that. I had apple trees blooming in late August. Drought then rain triggers in.

In central AL I still see some goldenrod in full bloom but most of it is in the last stages of the bloom ( flowers are becoming dark and drying up). I’ve seen a few people mentioning the bloom of dog fennel. We will get our first frost next week.

We are below the dry line of El Nino. So there's not much moisture overall for us from now until spring. Definitely be a winter that my bees will need to be fed.

Here in North Central Texas (Wichita Falls), we don't have any Golden Rod that I've seen but we do have Broom Weed. It will probably quit if we get the cool snap thay are predicting.

I’m in the Charlotte, NC area. Goldenrod is still strong here. My bees are all over it constantly! I also have my pollen feeders out, but they’re not on them that much. I’m also internal top feeding 1 to 1, but the bees are still all over the Goldenrod.

Goldenrod only last a few weeks here in central Louisiana. The bees in my area get very little from them. Its so dry here its very hard on my bees.
