Now I am EATING again. Burn 6000 calories per day biking and swimming? No prob, I´ll have 5800. And BOOM, now things are developing! I’m a 60, yes 60! Year old female. 5’9” My best weight is 140-145. I blew up to 165. Very unhappy and “obese” ( thank you Coach Greg). I’m losing weight eating 1600 on non workout days and 1800 on workout days. My workouts are 45-60 minutes, 5 days a week. They are moderate, not intense. I believe unless a woman is very short, the average overweight woman is NOT eating 1800 calories. That’s probably what they THINK they are eating. I can get by on 1300-1400 calories for a couple of days, then I get shaky and can’t workout. And I eat lean healthy high fiber foods like coach Greg promotes. I never feel Hungry, and I’m losing every week. So, no, I don’t believe 1800 is too much for the average (overweight) woman to lose weight, because she’s currently eating way more than that. And I don’t think any women should be eating a measly 1200 calories. Unless she’s 4’ 8”. Lol.

@do br I've read multiple books about habits, and they spoke about how most people (obese/drug addicts/alcoholics) relapse once they are back in their environment after relapse that triggered their habit in the first place. They became obese again probably because they were spending a lot of their time with their obese friends, family etc. again and caused them to relapse. In the Vietnam war for example, many soldiers abused drugs overseas, but stopped doing so effortlessly once they were with their families. Those who kept spending more time with their fellow soldier buddies after war were abusing drugs at a higher rate.

It's great to know you're eating 3000-3500. When I started working out again I could barely eat 1500 calories a day. I was 148-150lbs at 6'1. I was trying to bulk and it was so difficult cause I had no appetite and felt sick thinking about eating. The huel meal replacement shake has changed everything for me. I was able to consistently eat 2000 calories a day and I started gaining weight while eating that amount. Now I'm eating 2,000-3,000 a day depending how I feel. After watching this I've realized there's no need to push it over 3,000 calories unless it's a day where my body is screaming at me that I need it.

I think this is the right video at the right time. I've finally figured out how to control my diet and my calories. Once I learned about body fat and calories, I started slimming down. I've lost 30 lbs and I haven't really lost any muscle. I wasn't looking forward to the idea of bulking up again after this cut, since it's taken so long to learn how to do. Right now I'm at 14% body fat at 160lbs. I am still going to cut a little more, but basically I don't think I need to worry anymore about cutting as much. I can balance out my calories, cut back on the walking, and focus on strength training. As long as I'm in the 10 - 15% zone I'm better than 99% of the U.S. population, which is fine to me. I'll get big over time, thanks Greg!

Most of my female clients were eating about 3,000 calories a day before coming to me. I drop them down to the 1800 calorie level with moderate workouts and they lose 2+ lbs a week. Calorie levels are super subjective based on current size, height and goal weight. Most of my girls at average height (5'5"-5'6") will maintain a lean healthy body around 2000 calories a day. Only the super short, very sedentary or elderly need to drop well below that.

@@ariannaswift1137 you really cant get sn accurate answer on the internet at all so dont listen to anyone who tries to tell you about how many calories you need, especially because there is a zirrrroooo chance that you calculate the amount of calories you burn off doing whatever activities you are doing. so to answer your question, just look at what you eat each day and try to calculate the amount of calories you are eating over a period of time to maintain your weight, just get an estimate since it is impossible to track it exactly. There, you got your maintenance calories.

I had years of anorexia and killing my metabolism and then getting fat after having kids. Started lifting and tons of cardio and starved myself at 1000-1400 while lifting and cardio and was weak af. 9:52 I "ate" that line up when I started lifting on Jan 1st this past year. Went from 175lbs to 210lbs in 6 months. Six weeks deep into my first cut and I'm back down to 195lbs. I'm cutting down to 185lb and I'll see if I want to keep going or not. I gained a bunch of strength and muscle during that "eat big to get big" bullshit but I covered it all up with flab. Btw I'm 5'10 31 years old and had never weighed more than 185lbs in my life before I "ate big to get big". Don't do that shit guys. Just learn to eat right because if you're going to eat big and get big you're going to have to cut eventually. I'd prefer to avoid both bulking and cutting after I finish getting back down to 185lbs. Just gonna maingain from there on out. Tbh, I'm type of guy who needs to fuck up to learn the lesson so it's all good but just saying, COACH GREG is right.

Bro for your cut, are you basing the amount of calories you need to consume off of your bmr? Or did you use a calorie calculator to determine the amount of calories you need to lose weight based on your activity level?
@edwinfrauenstein98782 жыл бұрын
I've started my first cut just this last week, and I'm just trying to see if I'm in a deficit. I calculated my calories based on my activity level to be 2500 calories a day and I've been consuming 2100 a day to be in a deficit, with cardio (roughly 20min incline treadmill walk a day). But my Bmr is 1900 so idk. For reference, I'm 5'11, currently 179lbs and 19years old

I’m a 5’7 115lb female who does not gain weight eating 2000-2300 calories on days I DON’T exercise, and 2600+ on days I do. The overweight/obese women who claim to be eating 1800 calories per day, are not. They are eating more, they are just really really BAD at counting calories (not weighing food, not measuring, making rough estimations, not counting drinks, picking at food and not counting it etc.). There have been studies that show that women will underestimate their daily caloric intake by 800 calories on average.

Coach Greg speaks the truth no reason to rush. Also the faster the weight drops, the slower it takes for your skin to catch up. I noticed slower weight loss leads to less loose skin. If it’s a marathon why you rushing it? Think of speeding, if you go 10 miles over the speed limit the whole way to your destination, you’ll only save maybe 20 min right? Same with food if I take the most amount of calories away I can stand, I only save myself maybe 20-30 days of my goal and I’m miserable. To me it doesn’t pay off. I’ve done it both ways and decreasing calories for man or women by 2-400 calories a week is the sweet spot for 1 pound to 1.5 pounds a week.
