Every team in the NFL wants to have at least a Top 10 QB, but the problem is that only 10 teams can have one. Most teams are going to have to make it work with mediocre or subpar quarterback play, that's just the way it is. The NFL is too reliant on quarterbacks now, as if there aren't 10 other players on the offense. Too many teams are neglecting the offensive line and investing too heavily in skill positions. Busts are probably going to become more common. I have a feeling the owners will wise up and stop paying these quarterbacks and go back to a solid run game to open up the passing game, and reliable defense to win games. It wont be sexy, but thats real football...this isnt Madden.
@greyklopstock71553 ай бұрын
See, the way I see it is we're going to be seeing less in the middle and more extremes. Every QB is either going to be a top 10 guy depending on their situation or they're gonna stink. I could even argue that's where we are already. There's no Tannehils, there's no Flaccos, there's no Alex Smith, you've either got an MVP candidate or you have someone who stinks for the most part. Like, on a stacked roster with a great coordinator, Trevor Lawrence would probably not look too bad. But he'd basically be 2019 Jimmy G. To me, it's a result of what the general consensus has appeared to declare the most effective tactic available for roster building: get a good QB on a rookie deal and stack the deck. You don't let a QB go from rough, to mid, to all pro anymore. Rookies start right right away

Trevor got no dog in him. Deebo led the locker room in Clemson. Trevors heart ain't in it and his teammates know it. His family, wife, churce etc take precident in his mind. Not a bad balance, BUT he is being paid millions to be a dog, lead the locker room, care about his teammates by putting them above all else during football season. When season is over or he retires he can cater to other priorities, If he wants to be the family/church guy, then go sell insurance in South Carolina.

I watch him as much as I can and what I'm seeing is it's like he doesn't have the arm strength with some of his throws, and he makes some bad decision throws also. I honestly thought Pedersen was going to help him be great like everyone, including myself, thought. Usually when people make those type of comparisons, they're not wrong. Is it confidence, could it be arm talent, or is it coaching. Idk but I don't usually see problems with arm talent from QBs with that kind of hype that surrounded him.

The Cowboys paid Dak Prescott and now he fell off a cliff. If he would have gotten paid for his play during this season, he could have earned it end of season or at least halfway through the year… Money is like a drug, you get a taste of the lavish life, and you stop showing up to practice early, you’re thinking about supermodels and it’s a distraction. Some players are generational talents that use the money and get better at their sport, Derrick Henry spends a quarter million yearly on cryogenics, diet, workouts and health. Money is not the answer for an unproven or inconsistent player, but unfortunately we have to pay them, or someone else will. I don’t wish for Dak Prescott to fail… or Trevor Lawrence, it’s just a common outcome to these young players and huge contracts.
@ColdRunnerGWN3 ай бұрын
@@wilhoroshak5035 - TBF, Dak isn't young and he has a proven record - at least in the regular season. With Dak, you know that you'll get some solid play during the regular season and you can at least hope that he can break though in the playoffs. OTOH, Lawrence is young and his play is inconsistent at best. He has shown some flashes of being great, and that's what probably keeps people thinking he can be great. However, the reality just doesn't align with that hope.
