There's a reason both the NCR and Legion talk about the guy like he's a myth. He's a human, who for all intents and purposes, might as well be a fucking Super Mutant from The masters army.

With the right perks and the ballistic fist or even a powerfist it's easy. You technically can do it without armor, but you definitely need to pop some buffout or med-x. Or... just use nothing except for ballistic fist and 5 turbos.

The fact that Lanius can solo several deathclaws on his own is INSANE, given how rightfully overpowered they are in this game. I’ve played as a melee build in every NV playthrough I’ve ever done and they do so much damage that I literally cant heal fast enough to not die while still getting hits in, even with a full set of Power Armour. Unless of course I have the Implant GRX perk. Then I kill them about as easily as drinking tea on a Sunday morning

I cleared it out at around level 22 or so, granted I was a bitch and sniped at them from a distance with the AMR using AP ammo, because fuck getting anywhere near those bastards. All it really takes is some patience, a high damage ranged weapon, a fair amount of ammo, and good positioning because God help you if you don’t kill the Alpha or Matriarch in one shot and are in a bad position.

A service rifle with ap ammo will destroy their armor, and hp will finish them off. I have done this, but only on normal difficulty... so i dont know if the strat will work on the higher difficulties. Also yeah, you might need to get to the crane for the high ground, especially with the mama and alpha deathclaws near...

Another alt strat is to use the .22 pistol, spec your skills into guns and sneak, and get sneak hit multipliers like crazy from range... and maybe use a shotgun with a certain perk i forgot the name of to knock them down and then fill em with lead.
