No electric vehicle will make the manufacturer’s claimed full range on top speed, even the Teslas can’t do that. You have to ask the manufacturer or refer to the manual to find out at what speed it can do 70miles. If the manufacturer told you this machine could do 70miles at full speed on a single charge then you have a point, if not then it’s probably a bad review.

Yes, given that this is designed to be driven mostly around town(residential areas), you will probably only drive it at around 20-30 mph. This would increase the range quite a bit. Yep, as already stated, 50-60% of advertised range is common practice if you're floorin' it all the time. Even in a Tesla this is normal. So I'd say that their 70 mile advertised range is pretty normal for what they're selling people. It sorta grew on me since the last video also. I'm sorta diggin' it. Not enough to fork out that much dough on one, but hey, maybe if that's your thing, then who am I to judge.
@ericliume2 жыл бұрын
If you go full throttle all the time, the max milage will be cut to around 60% of its maximum due to the efficiency of the battery and engine. Next time you can try 30mph. One other thing needs to be taken into consideration, lithium battery doesn't discharge well when the environment temperature is low.
@1littlelee2 жыл бұрын
not retally correct, at full speed the motor is drawing more current from the battery NOTHING TO DO WITH IN-EFFICIENCIES, its purely the faster you go the more current you draw, and lithium ion batterys have more issues charging when cold than discharging when cold, and drawing 1200-1400 Whr from the battery that battery WONT be cold!

Had no issues other than regular maintenance with keeping the bolts tight. Mine the 3000 watt is pretty fast and keeps up with city traffic. Battery last a long time and does not slow the bike down as you use up the power cell, steady flow of power. Mine rides two people just fine. I am 200 pound my with is 125 pounds. Bike still cruises along at 38 to 41 mph. The 3000 watt with my body weight will cruises at 38mph without taxing all the power 🔋 41 to 45 with open throttle. Climbs small hills with no effort. It's a 3kw motor on a 2kw(40ah) battery. Driving at 23 mph would draw 750w per hour for 3 hours(2kw usage) equals 70 miles range. It's easy to figure out range of electric vehicles by speed. 750w per hour gets you 23mph.... 1500 watts per hour gets you 32 mph..... 3000w per hour gets you 45 mph etc as long as vehicle weighs between 100-200lbs. every 2x of power draw gets you 35 percent faster speed. Anyone interested in a cheap and capable electric bike should wait for next year's Metacycle for 5k. it can get 80 miles range at 45mph with a top speed of 70-75mph. If you got money to burn you can achieve same basic specs as Metacycle 4kw(200 lbs) with Zero FXS 7.2kw(300lbs) for 12k. Except Zero can hit between 85-100 mph top speed with custom settings.

We have to register these bikes in the UK and have a driving licence & insurance just like a proper motorbike. I agree that around 30 miles is the range, but that's ok for what I use it for. I love the design but the battery life concerns me. I have an NIU UQI GT Pro. Got it a year ago. It's an electric moped, Chinese brand. I have to say I love mines. It is the equivalent of a 50cc moped so only does a max 30 mph, and 40 miles on 1 charge. It gets me to work and back and is true to it's claims. Also my EV was around the same price but here in the UK I got a massive discount by the government for going green. So in the end I paid just over 2k.

No offense to the person doing this video because I've heard a bunch of people (including law enforcement and even some state DMV's) call scooters "mopeds". A moped is a motorized vehicle that also has pedals which can propel it without the engine/electric motor. If there are no pedals that you can crank with your feet, it's NOT a moped. I realize that languages change over time, but the definition of a word shouldn't just be completely wrong...🤷♂️ Just my 2 cents...

30 real world miles kinda equates to 70 tester miles. I mean if you consider it's likely meant to be driven at 20 or 30 in residential neighborhoods with the ability to jump it up to 45 in an emergency it's possible in the right conditions. As long as you make the destinction that you're hammering it the entire time I think it's a fair review. As for the legality I'm guessing it really depends on the state. Some places are a bit more lenient than others so it pays to check local laws one power ratings and speeds for unlicensed vehicles, as well as Electric ones for that matter. Does it have a VIN?

I ordered it to use in campgrounds back in June but did not receive it until October. (Stuck on a ship in the Harbor). They want me to do a review but all the campgrounds are closed for the winter. I was able to register it as a moped because the Vin number is compliant with DOT. My total range has been around 50 miles and my top speed has averaged around 46 MPH. I like the Gator but I'm not a fan of the over weight steering and turning can be a little tricky.It also weights alot so transporting has to be done much like a motorcycle and not a EBike. If passed. The vehicle can then be Titled. Further, the certificate these vehicles come with can be lacking important data. I had to email Eahora and have them update the certificate to display Make, Model, Hp, Color, Style, date of manufacturer. All that data should be added to the certificate that has the Vin number on it. Technically, in most states a MCO is required, or Manufacturer Certificate of Origin.... This is why these vehicles are so hard to title. Cheers, hope this helps.

seems about right for full throttle riding. half the specified range. 70km in lowest setting is how its usually rated.

Let me get this straight. You paid $3800 for that made in China thing, that topped out at 45 mph, and only has a range of 33 miles. That's crazy. I recently bought a new 2021 Genuine Buddy 125 for $3200, which was NOT made in China (it was made in Taiwan by PGO, and is easily comparable to any Japanese brand as far as quality goes) and tops out at 55+ mph and get 80+ mpg. Obviously since it is powered by an internal combustion engine, it has unlimited range. It also has a 2 year unlimited mileage on both parts and labor, and comes with a 1 year roadside assistance plan. Why anyone would choose a $3800 Chinese battery powered scooter with a 45 mph top speed and a 33 mile range over a $3200 Taiwan made high quality scooter that tops out at 55+ mph, gets 80+ mpg, has unlimited range, and has a 2 year parts and labor warranty blows my mind. Oh, and the Buddy has a large underseat storage compartment, and you can get a matching rear mounted color matched top box as an accessory.

my Taiwan days, I learned to ride on a Sanyang 125, classic style wire spoke motorcycle (international transmission) great to just leave it in gear for the mountain descents),,, only words on surviving Taiwan driving culture "follow old riders not young ones", great days 1990-1993. Great Quality in Taiwan, I had a China 150cc scooter 2008-2010 put 4000 miles on it, certainly some build quality issues, but drivetrain was ok. I think it was made around Shanghai.

Has anyone bought one of these? Its $2500 with 500 off on their website and apparently free shipping to Hawaii, I'm tempted but scared to spend that money online.

It looks to be a pretty solidly built moped and I like the beefiness of it. I think I'd get one, even though stylistically it's kinda' not really cool looking. But I think with some modding it could resemble Shotaro Kaneda's bike from Akira. I really love your videos, I appreciate all the hard work that goes into them. You are a good egg, I think you are the only REAL AND HONEST ebike reviewer around. I hope you have a very happy, safe, and blessed Thanksgiving!

I found this video because I was searching for an Eahora Etwister M2 scooter… I’ve gotta say, looks extremely similar (tho I think the battery comes out the side, not under the seat). And if Eahora has a “low rider chopper” style scooter (they do), then Koppa probably does too (or, if not, and you want that style, you could always look at Eahora). Personally, I prefer this style. Feels like it’s not pretending to be something it’s not. Plus the step-through design is easier to sit on (especially if you strap luggage onto the back, otherwise you would have to swing your leg up and over groceries) and it just seems practical. With that said, Kaneda’s bike is iconic and totally awesome, and it would be sweet to see an eBike/moped that looks like that! If you put a lightweight shroud like that over the more low-rider style moped, you might even reduce drag! GL HF

if you drove it conservatively and tried not to stop and limited the top speed you could have made the range. User error

Maybe their 70 miles of range is actually 70 kilometers we all know what the Chinese are like.

I agree with the previous post, driving it flat out using maximum acceleration cannot be conducive to good battery range.

I mean first you call it a motorcycle then you call it a moped which it’s very clearly NOT cause it has no pedals and now you’re calling it a scooter I mean great video but I’m pretty sure you’re getting all of us pretty confused here but it does look like a bit of a wowed motorcycle and is probably a little bit bit to out there to be called a scooter

0:46 Just respond to them in the manner China responded to people who questioned them about putting lead paint into children's toys. Their response was, "You want a safe product, pay a higher price." You can say, "You don't want a bad review, then build a better product."

well if you suggest mods for speed, you would have to change up to arrow handle bar styles like triathalon bicycles,,, but then you would lose the upright comfort posture of the arm chair ride.

When it comes to the range they are probably doing the same crap most ebike company's do, and that is advertise it as a max 40mph but they do the max range at like 15mph or some crap close. A respectable company will rate the max range at the max speed they are selling the bike at, that way the buyer knows that if they run it at the max speed sold as they will get X range but if they run slower then they will get more. They need to take a page from Zero as in the say my zero S can goo 100miles per charge but the clearly specify that that is at 30 to 40 mph and not the 90 mph max the bike can do

On my 2010 Honda Insight, i actually found that someone cut two valve stems on the wheels that were opposite of view from my home windows. I noticed hat when I went to go shopping in the very snowy winter, and I live 10 miles from the nearest grocery store. I'm performing something of an investigation on the matter, even though I don't have video or fingerprints to show as proof. They appeared to have sliced the side of the valve stems using an angle that suggests they used their footwear to bend the valve stems and cut them accordingly. I wish I had video evidence of that.. 🤔 Anyhow, your showing that valve core adjustment tool reminded me of what happened a few winters ago in the rural place that I moved from the city to. I think I know who did it, based on evidence they've left previously doing other nefarious things, such as when they left "Cry" fingersmudged on my TV screen in my kitchen while I was 4 hours away down the highway visiting where I previously used to reside back in Toronto with my 40 guitars and no guns. Please be safe, glad your able to have freedom of mobility rights and freedom of speech rights intact, as I notice mine are often being stolen away from me due to the nature of my standing up for human rights concerns on this repairable planet. Keep on rocking as you roll chief. You have a groovy KZbin channel, you are good people. Here's a tune that helps explain what it's like over here at present till I sell my home and book it back to more hometown big city familiar territory.
