(comment written before you capped). I would either take Istanbul or a Balkan cap. France would be great, but magenta has a 2 and blue has a 3 next to it, and they both go before you. If I were Blue, I would cap in southern Germany. God cap.

It’s so hard when too many bot out immediately and you hold a middle cap. Looks like you were able to make the best of it.

This was the first time I got to see the real downside of neutral bots. If everyone else leaves and you find yourself in a 1v1 with a massive enemy

I always try to avoid playing the color white if blizzards are on, because if there are blizzards in big country like russia you seem stronger and are more likey to get targeted
@FreePete Жыл бұрын
The only downside (minor) to playing as white is your opponents may know it's a premium colour

Finally started to play risk, and won my first game on meta settings last night! I was pretty proud of it, especially for being stuck in a Russia-Orient position

I find that I still run into this issue of multiple people quitting the game in the early rounds even with neutral bot, the only benefit is that if you can stay alive for 10 minutes you're guaranteed the higher placement. I think the best solution would be if Risk worked like other online competitive games. If someone quits the game or goes afk for too long they should automatically forfeit the game and get locked into their placement, and they should receive some sort of penalty like being suspended from playing ranked for 30 minutes. All we need now is some miracle to get SMG to listen to their community.

I don’t see why Pete didn’t try to go for at least one of the bot caps when players started quitting, the one in Iceland for example. Investing in North Africa and the Orient seemed like a much more fragile strategy.

It would be interesting to see massive maps and allow for 8 to 12

Feedback on videos for the Peteman, I have been learning a lot from the videos and I have pushed up into expert even though I am certainly not an expert. The videos are accomplishing one of the overarching purposes in the its teaching the community.

at 19:50 purple was quite clearly trying to get the red kill, and you knew the last territory was in Sevastopol. You were also discussing earlier on that you were hoping to have purple feed you kills. Did you just not notice purple trying to get the kill?

There really needs to be actual punishments for people botting out, especially in less than 30 minutes of gameplay. If you can't play at least 30 minutes, you shouldn't have joined the game
@davidtalbot2061 Жыл бұрын
I think you needed to break purple in Africa the second time he broke your southeast europe... as soon as you didn't Blue knew he was toast so bots. Personally I don't see a problem with botting when the chance of victory is gone. I mean why would you waste another 30 minutes/hour in a game you can't win??? Just for rank points?? SMG need to penalise the action of botting and then people would be more inclined to see the game to the death. Although I do acknowledge that it is difficult to separate a rage quit from a genuine disconnect
@Delaxin Жыл бұрын
purple was still getting 15 a turn even without africa, and was on 4 cards (likely to trade). after breaking africa, pete wouldve only had 10 troops on cap, so he probably wouldve got eaten, dying before all the botouts. 6th place is unacceptable. better to try for 2nd or 3rd
@davidtalbot2061 Жыл бұрын
@delaxin Fair thoughts and maybe 2nd is the best possible outcome here but like I suggested imo 6th and 2nd are the same thing... its win or nothing and the only route to victory I could see was to retaliate on purpleand hope Blue does the same
@Delaxin Жыл бұрын
@@davidtalbot2061 well it was a ranked game so Pete was just trying to save himself from losing too much rating to a bunch of noobs. 6th would've lost him a ton. 3rd I think only lost him a few. going for 1st is better content but keeping that grandmaster rank is priority #1
@FreePete Жыл бұрын
I agree that botting out needs a penalty. It's too frequent
@davidtalbot2061 Жыл бұрын
@delaxin Yeah I get why Pete didn't bot but he's a top player. But I also can't be mad at blue for botting... he's probably not a top player and why should he waste any more time just getting crushed by Purple... my point is that if Pete broke purple then Blue might of saw a chance and stayed in the game. I mean it's all just hypothetical... he might of botted anyway even if Pete broke... we'll never know. Would love to get Petes thoughts on when you should/shouldn't address a snowball. Saw a classic fixed game the other day where green took Asia and it went all the way through the turn order... each player not breaking and then Pete had the last opportunity to break and did it. This was a risk right... that player could of sucided.
