As someone who played during its prime, those numbers are incredibly depressing to see. Nothing can last forever unfortunately.

Yeah, I remember back when the norm was like…more than 8 full worlds on weekday afternoons and up to 12 on weekends…and there were two separate Aldan worlds. Then came the QuackityHQ raids and it took like the entire game. 😂

@@Mfenton10 i remember the quackity raids, wild that it was almost 6 years ago now. i remember participating on an alt and still have photos from it lurking on an old macbook time sure does fly

to be honest, as much as animal jam classic has declined over the years, seeing the numbers that small baffles me. though, i guess i was around kind of in its prime. full servers as far as the eye could see, you could say.... haha. i remember when it was difficult to find a server with few people in it because it would quickly get swamped. i dont play anymore these days, i grew out of the game sadly. but it is nice to still see people enjoying it, even if its significantly less than its hayday.

Depressing numbers 😭 I remember when all those servers used to be full. And that was like 8 years ago-

Well considering that Summer is almost over and school's about to start, or has started for a majority of kids. I'm not surprised there's less people online.

As someone that used to play Animal Jam from 2014-2019 I find these numbers depressing though if I was still playing definitely Animal Jam Play Wild since it gets more updates there plus the community being more active there I mean most of the players that played during the game's prime are pretty much grown up and moved on in their lives

This is lowkey sad, as a kid I was always thinking that I would NEVER ever grow out of Animal Jam, well, how times have changed. No idea how this appeared in my recommended but it's pretty sad to see how the game has aged. It looks exactly the same as it did in 2012. They're not pumping out new updates or anything, I guess that's going to their new mobile app? It's still crazy to see how everybody aged out the game. Time really just passes and before you know it, Club Geoz is empty, you and your friends playing Warrior Cats in Sarepia Forest is now a cringe yet endearing memroy. I hope you Animal Jam kids are doing just absolutely terrific in High School and College. Play wild!

i think further proof of how small the game is now is that i recognize about half of the people in the background of this video and im in the background of this video at 8:17 (brown falcon)

I think the weekday point does matter as I find on Roblox player counts spike a lot from weekdays (4-6million players), to weekends (8-10million players). I think that on a weekend classic has around 1800-2500 and play wild has 4000-5000.

Some of the reasons the numbers are going down (my opinion) 1: People who played it as kids grew out of it 2: Lost its spark in terms of fun. Pretty much only played for trading 3. Pay to play, it SUCKS for nonmembers. 4: Hard to play/understand if your new, you have to learn the whole economy system of animal jam

AJ just feels.. boring, especially since they can't exactly add anything NEW new these days. granted i'm like a decade over the age demographic by now 💀 but a lot of the time it's just people advertising trades or shops, it feels dull when i do log in i'll just make outfits for fun, or sometimes have a great conversation with some players at a party, we buddy each other and never see each other again 💔 i still have a close attachment to classic but i just can't really bring myself to play as often as i used to, and play wild just doesn't appeal to me. i wish classic could have like a BIG resurgence but i don't really have high hopes aaa

its been almost 12 years since i joined. i havent played consistently since 2012 and for a month or two during covid just for fun. i believe this game *could* be revived if these conditions are met: a developer who is passionate about the game, easy accessibility, and a proper foundation. id say the developer team (there has to be one) is probably torn between both ajc and ajpw. not to mention other projects(? atleast feral) that failed. splintering the community in half was a bad decision. it shouldve always been one platform. i know flash died and that really hurt ajc but it couldve been converted (flash support being revoked was announced years prior.) easy accessibility, kinda tying into the lack of conversion to html or some other code to play it in a browser, definitely killed the game. ajc is not easily accessible to its target age range. it being on the web made it extremely easy to play for all ages. itd need to be a web game again to be successful. proper foundation is just my way of saying fix the more than decade old bugs/code. the game has had a memory leak since at least 2012, where you need to refresh in order to fix your framerate. id love to see the game revived in some sort of positive way. who knows, maybe when its gone ill make my own version for my kids, lol.

I think Wildworks purposely wants this game to fall off so they can shut it down and focus solely on Play Wild. I know it's time is coming soon with the decline of players and lack of updates.
