You were getting close to my neck of the woods. Colville is 77 miles north of me (near Spokane WA). You missed filming the big letter "C" on the mountain side near the round-a-bout in Colville. Also Chewelah is pronounced "Chew - we - la". I've only lived here 4 years & still learning names. There's a lot of native-American names up here. Washington is a beautiful area especially East of the Cascades. You should have stopped at Zip's...great burgers...never heard of it till I moved here. As for as fuel goes, when ever I'm in Idaho (30-40 miles away) I top off my tank...always cheaper there. Can't wait for the next "talk soon"!

Wow! Talk about memories! I was born in Newport WA in 1961. Right there at the start, right before you go over the bridge (I remember it as an old, narrow steel girder one) over the Pend Oreille River, was a swimming spot where I nearly drowned when I was about 4 years old. We lived a block down the street from where the route goes to Spokane to your left or straight to Usk, Cuisick and Metaline Falls to the North. BTW, it's pronounced CALL-ville. And it's cha-we-la. Father was a forester for the Northern Pacific Railroad when we lived there. Great, beautiful country. Thanks for sharing with us.
