I turned my first tattoo (thigh piece) into a full neotraditional leg sleeve, after not having had any tattoos a year prior. I love the confidence I get from it, and the response I get from strangers and friends is virtually always positive. However, you're totally right that it's a huge step. I definitely had a feeling of "What tf did I do to myself" the night after the first session, and it definitely caused a slight identity crisis. Now, I absolutely love the look and am planning other large pieces. But the change from being "a person with tattoos" to "a tattooed person" is absolutely real.

I'm actually surprised that people put so much thought into this. Initially I wanted a half sleeve, which then became a full sleeve. Then I got one tattoo on my other arm, so the flood gates have opened and now my second arm is almost fully covered. I feel like once you get past the initial anxiety of "ruining your body" it becomes a much more fun journey.

I’m almost done with a full animal/hunting theme sleeve. I have one tattoo on my other arm (a distressed no color American flag on my upper arm). I can confidently say that after this sleeve I’m done lol. I think the look of a single sleeve is so clean and just not over done personally. I’ve always wanted one so bad and never had interest in two. To anyone reading this just do what you want, it’s your body.

What you said about definition and pros of having one sleeve is 100% accurate, I have one sleeve, I personally have been on the fence about getting another one.. however, as a gym rat, I do care about definition, and unfortunately you can barely see definition on my tattood sleeve. I’m 90% done with a Neo Traditional full sleeve including my hand. I have a half sleeve on my upper left arm. I love both the half and full sleeve look so I think I’ll be done with my arms. I also workout so I still want to be able to see some definition on my arm. As a woman I love both one and two sleeves on a guy... but the one sleeve a little bit more. I love how heavily tattooed arms look but also love seeing the muscles on the non inked arm. Best of both.

As for the female opinion I say go all out! At the most basic level ink has the whole bad boy sexy vibe. On a deeper level it shows you're willing to invest your time and effort into what you really want and you have the patience and commitment to see it through. I get what you're saying about the working out and just my personal preference here...muscles are super sexy of course but I'd rather see ink than veins lol I'm heavily tattooed myself and it's a great conversation starter as well!

Just got my last session of my second sleeve around a month ago, april 10th 2021 to be precise. Love it so much and never felt better before about the tattoos that i have. Justin is right, i felt and still feel so different compared to when i only had 1 sleeve for almost 4 years. My parents didn't like them at the beginning, but they are truly and entirely fine with all my tattoos rn. The culture here in indonesia is still not that openly minded with tattoos, so as u and i can expect, I've gotten a lot of eyes looking at me judgmentally, but that doesn't mean anything AT ALL compared to the happiness that i get for having both full arm sleeves tattoos on me, and bunch of other people who love tattoos still support and compliment me anyway! Remember, whichever path u take in life, there is still gonna be ppl who hate you for whatever you do. haters gonna hate, u don't live ur life to please them anyway. Working on 1 sleeve rn, but plan to be covered, chest ribs hips back, everything but the neck and hands and feet. When you mix being heavily inked with a buff/cut physique it makes you a different kind of beast imo. Bodybuilders tan their skin dark af because it casts extra muscle definition, one would thing inking the skin would have a similar effect. But i see what you mean. The theme of my completed one is an assortment of Batman's villains with bats and other Batman themed stuff surrounding them. I have one solid blackwork sleeve which is almost done, just have to rework the shoulder and my hand. Both are fully tattooed just long before the blackout so they're not as dark and don't fit in. And my other arm is almost a sleeve but it's patch work so there's still some gaps for a couple more filler pieces. I honestly wish I had planned my tattoos. But when I started getting tattoos I thought "I just want a couple here and there" so now I have to work around all of them. But I absolutely love the full cohesive sleeve look. Sad I'll never have that, except my one arm. Which I literally had to black out all the stupid tattoos to achieve that lol. I still like my other tattoos, I just love big scale pieces now that I'm into tattoo culture. Thankfully my back will be one big piece so I'll have that, too.

Hey...like a post earlier..for me..2 full sleeves...did every Wednesday...3 to 5 hours a week for about 4 1/2 months. Old school motorcycle theme..just recently did both hands ..about 4 1/2 hours..healing was very different from arms...its very obvious now..the hand tattoos pushed it over the edge...its big commitment and you realized how much you invested in ink..I love it...full sleeves and now hands incorporate the arms..its definitely a whole lot different...as for everyone I encounter..I'm realizing how the hand tattoos affect impressions and its very interesting...because I don't think about it..then there's that second of silence and then..ohhhh my hands....hmmmm...yup...

I also think that 1 sleeve looks the best, that's why I have 1 Japanese traditional sleeve on my arms, and another one on my leg (in progress) , one each, left arm, right leg, I just love the way it looks, my wife keep hyping me to get more tattoos (she have none, but love them on me), but I like the way tattoos looks, and that includes legibility , I like showing skin to contrast, not for others (a little bit for girls when I was single) but for me looking at myself, that's why I won't go full cover but I will end up doing my back maybe ribs on the right side in the next couple decades, I don't get tattoos often, I like to have at least half a decade in between, if not a full decade.

Hey Justin, you've got great content. I just got an upper half sleeve on my right arm. It's a little bit more than a half sleeve since it comes down below my elbow and onto my forearm in a couple places. I definitely left the shop looking down and feel like it puts me into a different category as someone who just has a tattoo, and into the category of always having a visible tattoo unless I'm wearing long sleeves. The artist has planned it so I can continue it down my arm into a full sleeve. I've only stopped here because I want a full sleeve on my left arm. The right arm was a coverup of a small old tattoo and that was my highest priorty. Being a coverup there were less options but now that he's done, I'm ready to let him go free with my concept on my left arm. Then I'm going to go back and finish my right arm. My artist travels a lot and spends months over in Italy each year, so the timing and scheduling is a factor in waiting as well as the financial costs and saving up.

You asked women to comment whether sleeves are attractive on men so here's my personal opinion: it doesn't matter! If a person's tattoos make him or her happy with their life, that's attractive. If a person's non-tattooed skin makes him or her happy with their life, that's attractive too. Lady's opinion re: 1 sleeve vs 2; I'll give the short answer first in case you don't wanna go down my rabbit hole of an opinion on this lol, but I think one sleeve is v sexy and so is 2. I find both to be aesthetically pleasing, or even just being tattooed in any capacity. I am not opposed to dating someone with no tattoos either (with the caveat that they're not going to be a shithead about me having/getting them) I got my first tattoo on my 18th birthday and got my second one within a year. Took almost a decade break in between getting my 3rd due to financial reasons (ya girl is on the come up 🤩) and in less than a month I got my 4th. I'm now working with my artist for my patchwork sleeve concept and am stoked. BUT this question tickled me because I'm married (polyamorous though, so I feel like since I still participate in the dating pool I can still give some feedback?) And here are my thoughts. My husband does not have any tattoos and will not get them for a (very valid imo) personal reason that would be a novel to explain, but he in no way dislikes tattoos. He is actually a hype man for me about getting them. Every time I added a new element to my patchwork concept we would look at it together and he would help me with the ideas and making it "me". One of the pieces I want, I actually want him to hand draw for me (a barbell, we are both big into weightlifting and that's one of our fav activities together). He is a remarkably talented artist, and I will be proud to wear his art. That being said, I wanted to say that for me personally, even though I understand his reason for not getting tattoos, I am not personally off put by dating someone without tattoos, him or anyone else. However, there are certain attitudes that some non tatted people have about them that I don't find appealing in a relationship. Like people that say things like: why do you want THAT on you forever? Like ??? Most of concepts have a personal meaning to me, but for someone to come at me with undertones of judginess is a hard pass. That's why things work so well with my husband, he is always like: this is going to look sick, you could even incorporate x thing and it would be super cool. Tl;Dr the main thing for me is having someone who is supportive of my personal decisions and isn't judgey, bonus points if they're enthusiastic about it. When it comes to finding a partner, one of the first questions I ask, at least within the initial conversation is if they have any tats. And ofc I wanna see em if so. A big no for me is if they don't have tattoos is I do not pry on why they don't. Maybe it's bc of my experience with my husband and knowing his reasons, but I don't want someone to have to go full vulnerability with me that early on if they have a super personal reason that they can't/won't. Instead, I ask if they would date someone with tattoos, questions along that nature. Non tatted people are not inherently off limits for me personally, but I do try to get the general attitude figured out because I'm not going to stop getting tattoos and they don't go away so that's a compatibility problem if they hate them. As far as what I prefer, as a chaotic bisexual, I gotta go with both 1 vs 2 sleeves / any other capacity of being tattooed is 😍🥵🥰. I love. I love hearing the stories behind them, whether it's "here is a deep story" or "I just think it's neat". I think it's a great way to carry a conversation and really get to know someone. For example, I have a lot of florals in my pieces because I'm really into floriography. It's an interesting thing to talk about to me and it gives a glimpse into a little interest I have. I likewise love hearing someone else's story on why they like x thing so much.

In my opinion, i mean, what I'm doing, whenever something happens that means a lot, or if i see a beautiful art, by editing, i get it done wherever it feels more fit, like, one tattoo on shoulder, inner forearm,......... And not on an one arm, distributed

I have one sleeve on my left arm and I plan on going to law school. I stopped it a couple inches short of my wrist just to be on the safe side. As long as I can cover it with a long sleeve shirt everything should be good

I’m in the process of finishing up both my sleeves! One sleeve is comic/manga themed and the second sleeve is a supernatural themed meaning supernatural creatures! I look forward to the day that they’re fully completed! I love both my sleeves and couldn’t imagine life without them! I used to go to gym to work on my physique but for me I didn’t care about hiding my results really! To be honest - for me at least - my arms look bigger and I can still see some cuts!

I almost have a half sleeve. I’m getting the rest of my forearm done in about a month! So I’ll have from elbow to wrist on one arm. I have my inner bicep on my other arm, but have no plans as of yet to fill in the rest of the outer portion. We’ll see.

Love your videos bro! I have top of back and both shoulders done plus both inner forearms done too. I have a good vs evil theme on opposite sides. I have 6 days booked in early next year, gonna complete the 2 sleeves but leave the inner biceps clean for now. Also bringing both sleeves together with an amazing chest piece!! This sunday I’m finishing my half sleeve, I’d be happy just with just one arm half tat tbh, it’s exhausting the whole process months and months of putting together ideas and coming with a design with my artist, I don’t know if it just me lol like making sure they’re original and really my own (if there is something I hate are generic designs). So I don’t know what the future will hold for me, let’s see.

Great video! Just finished my left arm sleeve, and besides upper shoulder, my right arm is blank. My pride skyrocketed with 1 sleeve, and was curious about 2. I feel like I got great food for thought from the video, I might wait a bit longer on my 2nd. Plenty of other areas still blank for me

I think it depends on the person tbh.. I'm working on getting a half sleeve from my elbow to my hand on my one arm.. I'd like to make it a full sleeve but I don't think it would look flattering on me and I think of I went to two it would look odd on me (that's just my opinion though). I have the back of my shoulder done on the opposite side of the arm that will have the half sleeve and feel that will balance me out better..
