This period is well past me though, and thus I should have quited smoking, which I apparently did for a period of time. Yet I craved for it. And I reached to a conclusion that I should have reached from my first puff: it just feels good smoking. Anything else is just an excuse to soften and salvage your guilt for this weird and long term health damaging habit of yours, some lie to keep you in the smoking game a little bit longer.

Does anybody else remember candy cigarettes when they used to come in the little packs with the actual brand name of the different cigarettes on them, like Marlboro, Winston, etc.? And the tip of one end was red to imitate the lit end of a cigarette? I was born in 1970 & vividly remember getting them from the local country store. My kids found them at a local store recently but they of course no longer come in a box advertised as candy cigarettes & they don't have one red end, they're just solid white but still taste the same.

My old jeep got totaled, and instead of getting a newer car that’s safer and gets better gas mileage, I got another jeep. Because it was my first car, and I loved driving it. Yeah the white with a black outline/black with a white outline is a good choice. It shows up well against both light and dark backgrounds. A bold sans-serif made for screens (not print) will also help.

My grandfather smoked since he was 15 and he passed away last year ago at the age of 96 bc of kidney faliure. My father also smokes since he was 15 and is now 67 and he never had any problems with heart or respiratory organs and mouth. He is even in better shape since he works out and has better shape than me;a non smoker at the age of 17 so? Whether because they're peer pressured or just think it looks cool, or to counter someone who's lame who doesn't smoke, or to fit in with a group you're trying to get into where the majority/all smoke. All of these are in one way or another "to look cool". But people have other reasons too. My mom started because smokers were allowed 15 minutes breaks every few hours and she wasn't and she was like nuh-uh. XD Thankfully she stopped and I barely remember her with a cigarette.

I've quit since then (cigarrete free for a year and a couple of months) but i smoked for some good 4 years before fully understanding the health and financial damage, and that there is no such thing as "social smoking" once you're an addict. The harm of smoking is widely held now as a self evident truth but I wonder if that’s completely accurate. Doctors used to prescribe smoking. People smoked for thousands of years. Yet cancer, heart disease and diabetes rose exponentially after sugar and vegetable oils were dietary staples. A child smoking is outrageous, a child drinking coke eating candy bars, potato chips,donuts,cookies,cake is completely normal. So many questions...

@@deemah3602 what do you mean with “affect the neural system”? It is very well known that sugar triggers the release of dopamine. This is probably why it is so addictive. Does this count as affecting the neural system enough to meet your criteria? Regardless it is addictive and causes harm ( it causes harm in the amount we take it, but that is true for all things that cause harm, it shouldn’t be necessary to say it). That to me are the essential characteristics of drugs. Technically drug might mean a substance that provoques a biological response, so it is more like a way of manipulating someone’s body. It doesn’t have to be bad, or cause harm or be addictive. In that sense, all medicine would be drugs. I do not know the technical definition of drug. But what people mean when they say drug is something that is harmful and addictive. If you say you give your kids drugs when they are sick you will end up explaining yourself to the cops or a social worker quick, even though technically that might be something that everyone does. Drugs simply no longer means medicine in common use. Anyway, because I don’t know what drug means, I didn’t say sugar is a drug. I said addiction, to avoid confusion. And yet confusion found me 😅
