Sharing my countless beautiful and positive experiences as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has given me a huge amount of joy. I highly recommend being a member and talking to others about becoming a member. The gospel of Jesus Christ will change your life and your heart.❤

Such a great video. Thank you for pointing us to truth. As a 54-year old man, I feel like these things you shared are things I already know-but that doesn’t mean it’s common knowledge among everyone-especially the rising generation. I want to share this video with my kids and talk to them about it. I love the way you’ve gathered so many quotes and pictures to demonstrate and reinforce the principles you’re teaching. Having it altogether like this in a concise video is so very helpful in teaching it to others.

Excellent content - indeed, it seems most faith crises are actually intellectual in nature (eg, needing to learn more about the topic, examine assumptions and sources, check intentions and motives, weigh out alternative worldviews, etc.). Without critical thinking skills, we will be swept up by the media.

Excellent video! In college, I wrote a research paper on news media bias. Some bias is completely unintentional. Child kidnappings are rare, but because they appear in the news often, people get a skewed perspective on how often it happens and guard more against that than other dangers that are more common but don’t make the news.

Powerful stuff! Thanks Parker for sharing this. The fact that media algorithms serve up sensationalist content first and foremost complicates people's attempts to see clearly. You have to dig so deep to actually get a fair treatment of any topic. One thing you didn't talk much about which I'd love to hear your opinion on is the major distrust of institutions (such as the Church) amongst younger demographics (such as Millenials and Gen X). Isn't this part of the reason Johnny Harris can amass millions of views on his videos about the Church and yet the most recent book of Mormon video from the Church languishes with a few thousand views? Thanks for all you do.

The only problem is money, when certain organizations owns too much of the media indifferent parts of the country and actively try to hide the originations or sourse of the money going into the programs, advertising, you have to be very discerning when it appears to be one source it is really coming from another.

40:06 Genuine question, how can you know what you’re receiving is the truth? Jeremiah 17:9 says “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” If what Jeremiah was saying was true, how could I possibly believe my own personal revelation to be the correct truth? In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul writes that “Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” How would I know if what I’m receiving is from God or from Satan?
@austinhanks60605 ай бұрын
This is a great question. Parker's video references an Elder Renlund talk "A Framework for Personal Revelation" that gives related guidance. We can check what we're receiving against the framework: Am I feasting on the words of Christ, and how does what I'm receiving compare against them? Is what I'm receiving something within my stewardship to control or decide on? What commandments have I covenanted to keep and how does what I'm receiving compare against them? What answers am I confident that I've already received that I can build on?

I have met people who really put up a good argument against this idea. I said everyone is influenced, a product of their environment, and such. I can’t remember exactly what they said but they basically put up a good argument how they aren’t. And it’s also maybe their experience or something (again ironic I can’t remember.). So apologies!

Critical Thinking Trap (CS Lewis): "He [the devil] always sends errors into the world in pairs-pairs of opposites. And he always encourages us to spend a lot of time thinking which is the worse. You see why, of course? He relies on your extra dislike of the one error to draw you gradually into the opposite error." (Mere Christianity) Popular pundits and politicians also understand this tactic of pitting one error against another, and they use it on us to their own profit and promotion.

Yes, everyone is biased, and it's important to keep that in mind when viewing, and look for people to watch who try to temper their biases. The main issue with a lot of media is that they're acting on and enforcing their biases. It's not just the natural flaws of man, but a concerted effort to push an agenda, such as making Joe Rogan look sickly, or filming in front of a tightly packed crowd that ends with the camera's edge. You should always view a broad spectrum of opinions, but try your best to only follow honest sources.
@nonrepublicrat5 ай бұрын
Is there some reason why you don't say the name of this wicked "faith crisis coach"?? Why not let your viewers know who he is? The name of his channel is very deceptive! Before I knew about him, I watched one of his trash videos expecting to see something pro-gospel, not the rubbish that I did find there.
