this video is such a fresh breath of air. You are literally my goals. To travel and have a job/s while doing it. I also am in college and I have always wanted a degree, but I don't know what I want to do with my life and its refreshing that I don't need a 9-5 job like everyone says.

You are soooo right about everything you say in this video! 😃 I'm working on building my own business because I want to live my dreams. I've held myself back for years because I was influenced by "normal" life. I thought there was something wrong with me because I didn't want that kind of life. And I thought I needed to grow up properly and then I would fit into a "normal" life. Never happened. So now I'm jumping - into my dream.

I set a goal to move to Ireland so I can complete a book Iv been writing while struggling with the reality of making a living ..but honestly Iv kept quiet about it. Writing is something Iv always lived to do..as a way to express and also create and share. It is so good to meet you and hear your experience. It makes me happy there are like minded people out there, And I love you talking about the LAW. Iv been watching alot of great channels. And find louise haye explains it really well. My book is also about this. I will subscribe and curious to watch your vids. You encourage me to continue and believe that If I decide courageously and at least to myself that this is what Id like to do ..that I can .sending you lots of love .and thanks for putting it out there.Liah x

Everything you say reminds me of me ...when I was traveling in Australia and New Zealand. I was thinking the same...I was feeling the same...had so much passion and dreams...I was really happy. I thought I can do anything I want in my life. But at some point you need to come back... your parents miss you ... the visas running out ... you get more mature....you get sick of meeting new people every time. It took me 6 months at home... and everything turned. You cannot compare backpacking to a "normal" life... at some point, you will need to settle down... moving in with a partner ...etc. Then you will realize that this experience was something special ...but not a forever!

With these writing jobs, did you need any experience or degrees? And how did you go about finding them?
@AmandaRoundtheGlobe7 жыл бұрын
they literally came to me. I started talking with family and friends about how I wanted to be a writer. When I was in Thailand, someone found me via a facebook ad to sell my bike. He looked at my facebook page, where I was constantly writing essays. He reached out and told me that he didn't want to buy my bike, but he wanted me to work for him as a writer. The second one happened because of this channel, someone found me talking about minimalism and saw that I love writing (I talk about it a fair amount haha) and asked me to write a minimalism series for him.

Lately I like watching chanel talking about minimalism, it's so inspiring. Can say I didn't start it yet, but it's already changed the way I think about what I have now, just like when I cleaning my house and rearrange my closet, I realized I already got things more than I need, even found things that still have price tags 🤪. Do minimalism that suit me and enjoy the change ❤️

whats the difference between living minimalism and being poor?
@AmandaRoundtheGlobe7 жыл бұрын
minimalism is intentionally choosing what you want to have in your life. You don't have excess. I buy high quality items and choose to spend my money in the way that works best for me. Being poor means that you don't necessarily have the option to choose to buy high quality items.

So I guess when you are old, like me, and you haven't been paying into any system, then you will get by, exactly how? Oh, some man? Or your kids? or the government? The reason we work is so that at 60 we are free for 20-30 years. Ya, it blows to work 5 days a week, but that is how you can contemplate retiring at 45 or 50, being truly independent, knowing you served your time, and achieved something amazing, and along the way there are perks, days off, vacation. Make your plans, figure them out, that is the challenge, finding work - life balance, not checking out entirely. A woman without her own money is vulnerable to any way the wind blows, and you will feel insecure, regardless even if you only have enough stuff to fill one plastic bag. If you get hurt, and can't work to supplement, or the writing dries up, or U tube gets bored of you, what then, or your apartment sells and you can't afford another place, and you can't call your parents, really, think about it, what then? No one is saying to live in fear, but why not normal? What is so bad about normal and being independent because you're working and putting money aside for the future, which by the way comes really quickly? There are so many young women and men watching, do you really want to tell them to check out like this? What contribution are they making to the society that supports them? I see more and more girls on the street with signs asking me for my money, and I always think, get a job, its really not as bad as you've been told. I don't feel the minimalist wave is meant to advise people that they don't need to commit to 9-5 but more to remind us that we don't need all the stuff.
@AmandaRoundtheGlobe7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! I do save for retirement, and I don't believe that you ever have job security in any position - which is why I make an income from a variety of sources. I believe that I'm making an excellent contribution to society by encouraging people to live their best life. I am definitely making more of a contribution now than I was at my last job, where I would create excel reports to show my boss how much money he was making. Thank you for your worries but I will be fine :)

I agree with c sikomas, I think you need to accomplish a little bit more in life to accomplish the freedom you want to have. I understand that you only live once and you want to live life to the fullest but things come with a price, what are you going to do when you are old and tired, or sick??

I like how you went for your dreams and didn't let others tie you down from what you wanted in your life. If it isn't the norm, so be it. I think as long as people aren't hurting anyone by what they do then people should do what makes them happy.. I do work a regular job 4 - 5 hours a day, five days a week but it is my dream job so I am happy with that. However, there are a few personal things I want that I am slowly working towards and if someone doesn't agree that is not their business. Can't please everyone.

Kendra O Nothing is ever too late. I'm 36 and just starting to realize that. 😊 I used to think my life was almost over at 30 but I've never felt better. And just now I'm starting to live my dreams. Age is not important (says the old lady 😉)

Good & valid thoughts. Minimalism is an under rated feeling. You said you love hiking, may be you hsould go to Norway and do the Trolltnga hiking, just did that :) Worth the pain. Thanks for the video though :)

You just need to have one negative comment out of lots of positive: i assume your parents gave you life, good education and you were bourne in Europe or US, where life is easy in comparison to most countries in the world. You were bourne there because of your ancestors. There are many options of thinking about life possibilities. My way: 1) i have a good education and expensive property from parents and if i would sell it i could live whole life as a minimalist without working 9 to 18. Even if no property, i could live life as a minimalist, working as a freelancer because of education and traditions my parents gave me. But i will not just waste what my ancestors passed me! Lots of my and also yours ancestors was working hard, fighting wars, suffered and survived in bad conditions to get us where we are now. This is a starter kit that we received and we must multiply it and not waste it! I live with my wife and children. I have children so that they can have all this life experience. So that i can pass my traditions to them. I cannot go minimalist becuse it is a risk to my family in Russia. You think it will always be safe and stable in Eu or US? Check out the news or 100-200 last years of history... It is never safe and stable on this planet... What you like so much is to waste your starter kit that your ancestors gave you. I am shure there are a lot of people including me who would like it, but i will not be so proud of it. If you can start a family and give your family enough for safety and comfort as a freelancer, that is ok, but i think that is not what you are doing and saying in this video...

I’m single no kids no nothing, I work construction so I guess it’s 9-5 maybe more, I save money , I heard that there’s seasonal work everywhere especially in the national parks , should I travel/work in seasonal jobs in different places ???? Is this like a life hack that nobody knows about

Hi Amanda, Since you asked for feedback - I think rehearsing or writing some points would serve the clip better; as it is now there are many repetitions and ranting. Keep enjoying life and travel, that's my drug too ;-)

Wow.. you did realy great! Being rich is not about the money you earn, its about the freedom of time.. its about how you live your life.. how passionate you are in your job.. and being happy on your everyday routine.. money its just a paper, but experience is a treasure. I want to meet you someday and share same stories.. i like your videos!!

@nalley6827 жыл бұрын
thx for replying! xD well im young now and I gravitate towards this kind of adventurous life, but what keeps me back i guess is the thought that when i get married i want my kids to have an element of stability cuz i grew up traveling a lot and i had to leave friends and school, ..etc so it was very difficult, so what do u think?
