I used to think I had very dry skin, but then one time an extreme heatwave hit and I was drinking water like crazy. After a few days I suddenly noticed that my skin didn’t feel as dry as it usually is, even though I didn’t moisturize it because I was concentrating on surviving the heat. Turns out I was just chronically dehydrated

Water naturally hydrates too. But a moisturizer would help long term. Try using Hyaulraunic acid. It pulls moisture from the air to moisturize the skin. It’s also very light. I use niacinamide with b12 serum and Hyaulraunic acid serum and it dya great job moisturizing my skin without it being too heavy and making me greasy or break out. In winter when my skin is dryer i use a little rose oil as moisturizer as well.

A fellow skinimalist here, fully onboard with the idea that the less we mess with our skin, the better it tends to perform (but of course sunscreen is a must)! In compensating for acne-prone skin, l've done the elaborate 10-step routines and seen little improvement. After paring down skincare and makeup significantly to basically just sunscreen and eyeliner, my skin stabilized 👀 Love that this video has both personal anecdotes and dermatologist citations! The humidity meter is such a handy little gadget 🙂↕️

I read somewhere on a dermatological magazine years ago that over using skin care and too much make-up will hinder the healthy pores from breathing and self-cleaning. There is a good reason why we have small nose hairs, armpit hairs and such. They are annoying sometimes, but it is there to protect the body from bacteria and other air contaminants. I went on for six months without shaving my arm pits. I used only soap, facial cleanser, and deodorant. I barely sweated. So I did this for my face facial soap, toner, and minimal makeup. Nope. No deodorant 😅. My face began to clear up and no more acne! Then, read about the jade roller, leave it in the fridge for a couple of hours, and roll it over the face. I still do that on my face and around my shoulders after a long day of work. It lessens the aches. ✌️💕💕

54 years old and I get comments on my skin all the time. I nearly have no wrinkle lines. I do have sagging, that's kinda inevitable with gravity, but not a lot comparatively. I do nearly nothing to it, haven't for years. I don't moisturize, I don't wear make up (my skin breaks out no matter how skin-sensitive the product, so I almost never wore make up even when younger), but I also don't cleanse it with any special soap or skin care product. Days I don't shower I splash (cool)water on my eyes and perhaps around the nose. If my eye feel goopy I'll use warm water. In the shower I just use the same soap I use on my body... but I don't shower more than 3 times a week. Every now and then when my cheeks feel dry I may use a scrub that I make myself with coarse sugars, coffee grinds and babasu oil. Sometimes I may use a paper mask with collagen.. but I mean not even once a month. I haven't done either in at least half a year rn.

then how come those who properly moisturize their skin look younger than those who absolutely disregard their skin?
@9kyuu2 ай бұрын
it’s not like she said “you should absolutely disregard your skin.” if someone absolutely disregards their skin then they also wouldn’t use sunscreen, which is the most important product.

@@9kyuu i personally do not recommend not using a moisturizer if you have a dry skin, tried it and failed miserably.
@emryborge70272 ай бұрын
Because it says ‘moisturizing over prolonged period of time’ and those people who look great are young. You’re not gonna have your cells stop working at 20😂
@isuzu84972 ай бұрын
@@emryborge7027 I'm sorry I didn't get your point xD can you rephrase? Anyway, I tried not moisturizing for a good few months and the results were horrible, but using wrong cosmetics, especially with harmful ingredients is not good either. Bottom line, for someone with dry skin, like mine, that advice is really bad. When I take good care of my skin and make sure to use both essence and moisturizer then my skin is awesome. And about age, yes any skin advice coming from someone who is 20 is like omg please stop xDD cause obviously in your 20s your skin should no matter what be quite elastic right.

I really don't want this to come across the wrong way, but as someone who's been into skincare for a while and has heard from multiple sources online that over-moisturising is borderline impossible, I find it difficult to believe quite a bit of this. Maybe I'm missing something here but which one of your sources states that moisturiser use can decrease our skin's ability to produce elastin and collagen? If you're taking that information from the first two links you've left in your description, how are you certain those sources are reputable? You've referenced Dr Shereene Idriss as a reliable source, when said dermatologist also advises people to moisturise every day and, from being familiar with her content, I'd be surprised if she agreed with what you're saying here. Obviously you do you, if you don't want to moisturise every day based on humidity levels that's perfectly fine, but I don't think it's fair to advise people to stop using moisturiser altogether especially when in my experience and many others, our skin was always problematic before adopting any type of skincare routine even despite not having any of the conditions you've mentioned.
@mottebahner286722 күн бұрын
The quote from shereen idriss is from a video about standalone hyaluronic acid serums / products. She just is of the opinion that these are unnessecary as the ingredient is already in most skincare. But she does not say its a bad ingredient / one should not moisturize.

Asians have a nice thick skin that’s not as prone to aging as other races. And I don’t think that Koreans have a better skin than the rest of the asians at all. Even if you look at the idol’s (people who have access to the best skincare and procedures) photos with no filters or photoshop their skin looks pretty average. So genetics are the most important thing with sun protection being the second.

I guess we have to see how they age. I doubt a few decades ago young Korean people were doing these 10-steps skin care routines, it's the young people of today, so we have to wait to see how well they're going to age.

@@SuperHipsterGamerplastic surgery doesn’t have anything to do with perfect skin. There’s no plastic surgery to get perfect porcelain skin. Looking this Ignorant because you don’t know how things work is such a weird thing idiots like you do. This is top-tier information. Thank you! I have learned to moisturize only in the winter, twice a week, or as needed. Since my hands and wrist and fingers get scaly. My skin peels off like a fish, which is wierd. Anyhow, when I was in my first clinical year I used only facial soap, facial cleanser and little to no makeup, and no jewelry. We were told to use unscented deodorant also. Over time my acne began to clear up. It felt great! I will def be sharing this video with my friends. We still have so much to learn. Keep these vids coming! ❤ ❤ ❤

It's a brain in a jar connected to a frame with a piece of facial skin, with eyes and mouth. Well what's left of her after several hundred rounds of plastic surgery. And she goes "MOISTURISE ME!
