When the ball is made. She didnt mention that is an extruder with internal and external nozzles. Like a straw with a straw inside. The filling is in the inner nozzle and the dough is in the outer nozzle. The dough starts extruding, then the filling squirts, then the dough is pinched behind it, then it starts over.

In China its very common to make these by hand all the time with our families. I've tried both before and machine made ones will never taste as good as handmade ones. The quality just isnt there Of course in western countries it just easier to buy the mass produced ones. Handmade mooncakes are expensive and harder to find. But generally, mooncakes aren't exactly super cheap.

Vida Allen Mooncakes are a delicious treat, but do refrain from eating them too much. They are very, very high in calories and fat because a lot of oil is used to make the filling and to knead the dough. I am from Hong Kong myself, but my family and I only eat around one to two mooncakes during Mid-Autumn festival because it is just way too unhealthy.
@ennairalouisse35046 жыл бұрын
Well you should only eat 1/4 of the moon cake per day cuz if you eat the whole moon cake at once, it can make you REALLY dizzy. I ate a whole moon cake once and I fell asleep pretty soon after. It's caused by one of the ingredients... And I can confirm since I'm half chinese, half filipino... LOL😂

@@joeysoon9609 If you find them horrible, maybe it wasn't to your taste. There is different types of moon cakes, and if you don't think their flavor suit you, just say it wasn't your type of food you'd eat. No need to be salty and dissing the traditional cake in the comments, and there is no need to say it's horrible either. It could be just you. Others who never tried moon cakes wouldn't know how it tasted, and you're making it seem like it's not tasty at all. You may not like it, and i respect your personal taste, but I don't see a point to tell other people it's horrible. Snowskin moon cakes are the best, original ones are great too.

I prefer other Asian desserts like mochi, mango pudding with evaporated milk, Thai sweet sticky rice with mango, Vietnamese rice cakes (bánh bò), silky tofu pudding with ginger syrup, sago and taro coconut sweet soup, bubble milk (boba) tea, che thai drink, and green tea ice cream!

I would know what mooncakes are, they are expensive as hell pastries filled with a lotus seed whatever. Usually homemade (by your grandma,mom,grandpa or dad in my family anyway) and it usually disappears in a few days in my hungry hands, but damn are the store bought ones expensive. Also comment what your favorite type is mine is the lotus seed and egg yolk (I speak Cantonese but since I was born in America I focused more on my English than I did Chinese but I would write Chinese if I could that is).
