when i adjust the cable brake or repalce with a new one, i usually put grease on the inside calbe line

Use the Dremel (motor) tool to CUT the casing (and cable)! Many of us do not have the Park CN-10 and side cutters do more damage than good. A Dremel with a cutoff disc on medium speed slices the casing cleanly, evenly and smoothly. You still have to ream out the inner casing though.

Also wrap some masking tape around it before cutting It works great using a dremel works good on those braided fuel lines also

How much casing? "what looks good, you know, kind of a nice smooth [run]..." Yep! After you do a few you just "get it." If you don't, and don't want to get all technical and junk...Just look at Google images of similar bikes.
